    I AM IN LOVE LOL

Then you will love this link...it has like 30 pages of oopsie recipes...you can make low carb, high Protein pizza, cake, french toast, waffles....etc. The recipes these folks have come up with are amazing and lots of protein bang for your buck. Oopsie Recipes
  2. Had surgery on Thursday was back at work full-time on Tuesday. I work in an office...up and down to printers, copiers, meetings etc.
  3. Hi Kris, I am feeling a bit tired myself. Matter of fact I haven't done much of anything this entire three day weekend. I have just sat around the house because I have no energy. I am sorry to hear that you aren't doing well...you seemed to great that day we talked at the hospital. I hope that you start to feel better soon. Keep in touch. E
  4. Hi Priscilla, hope that you are doing well at your sisters. You get to go home pretty soon. Keep in touch. I want to know how you are doing.

  5. So...I board a plane in the morning to head down to Mexico for my surgery. It still seems unreal. I can't really wrap my head around the fact that it's tomorrow. I am going through all the motions getting everything ready. But I am doing it in a bit of a haze. I keep thinking about my surgery like it's way out in the future. Then suddenly I realize it's in two days and I panic. I think my body is acutely aware of the fact of what's going on as I have severe anxiety and have had an upset stomach all day. Just because my mind is trying to block it out....doesn't mean my body wants to cooperate. LOL I can't wait until the surgery part is behind me and I can start dealing with my life afterwards. It seems like I have been so focused on this surgery that I can't think of anything else. I spend way too much time on these boards and way too much energy thinking about the procedure. I wish that I had someone to go with me to give me some moral support. I will probably freak out the night before while by myself in the hotel room. Oh well...the wheels are in motion. YIKES.

    One Week from today!

Me too Denise. I can't believe it is right around the corner. Yikes!!
  7. I have seen folks that have lost a lot of weight and honestly didn't seem to need any at all. There there are those that really could have used it. In the end...when they were all dressed they looked great. I suppose like everyone says it depends on genetics...length of obesity...etc. I have in the past lost appx 70 lb and although I still needed to lose about 30 lbs...I don't think that I would have even considered plastics. I will say that I have horrible bat wings...and have for years. Hopefully, they will shrink to an acceptable level after surgery with some exercise. I know that loose skin is loose skin and amount of exercise is going to help...but at least there will be some muscle in there to take up some space! Good luck.
  8. I have been eating like there is no tomorrow. I know that I shouldn't be...but...I can't for the life of me stop. I am so glad that I am having surgery on the 6th. I am hazard to my health..lol. I start my pre-op low carb diet on Tuesday. So...hopefully....at the very least I will get my liver where it needs to be for surgery and I will deal with the weight gain post op. I know that I am dealing with the 'last meal' syndrome. I just didn't realize that I was going to have so many of them! This too shall pass. I don't want to beat myself up about it. It is what it is.
  9. I think the New Years resolution I pledge every year may actually come true this time. With the help of the sleeve of course. It doesn't seem possible.

  10. Anxiety is rising. Two weeks to go. Yikes!!

    Any January Sleevers?

Hi Priscilla, I am having surgery on the 6th too! I am also going alone. We can support each other. There is another lady on this site that will be there on the 5th. How are you feeling about the whole thing? We only have two weeks to go. Elizabeth

    January Sleevers

Hey Denise, I am having my surgery with Dr. Aceves on the 6th...so I guess I will be seeing you there!! Yay! I am so looking forward to being at goal by this time next year. Oh to look great is some holiday pictures would be nice I am not doing a physical with my pcp as my insurance sucks and I have to meet a $3,000.00 deductible before insurance even starts to pay anything...so I want to avoid the additional expense. Besides..from what I hear Dr. Aceves is quite thorough in his pre-op testing, so I feel confident. I can't wait to get in and get done with it. I have been researching wls for several years now. I was actually scheduled about a year and a half ago and had to cancel because I got sick right before I was to fly to Mexico. Can't wait to meet you. Have a great day!
  15. Got everything crossed for you!! Good Luck!

    Bay Area CA

I didn't use Dr. Foster, but I was moving towards surgery with Dr. Barry Sanchez in the same office. My insurance changed and I have to start over with a new dr. I would reccomend Dr. Sanchez. I thought he was wonderful when I met him. Let me ask as many questions as I wanted, didn't rush the appointments. Etc.
  17. So, I just got off the phone with my surgeons office. He unfortunately isn't contracted with Blue Shield and does not accept it, meaning that I would have to pay out of pocket. So, I guess me being banded isn't going to happen right now since I cannot afford the amount of money it would cost being that I am a single parent with a child in college. It figures.
  18. 'They only approve certain doctors and it's their money. So, my advice to you is to pick up the pieces, make sure the insurance WILL cover the surgery and start over again with the approved doctors. Count this time lost as a well learned lesson. Believe me, it will be well worth it...' Thanks for all the advice I really appreciate each of your replies. Although, I am not sure exactly what lesson I could have learned from this as I did follow all of my insurance requirements, they were going to cover the surgery and the doctor and the hospital were in network and approved by my insurance. The fact that my company decided to change insurers had nothing whatsoever to do with me as they just decided that they wanted a better rate on their premiums. It just so happened to fall smack dab in the middle of my lengthy Quest for weight loss surgery.
  19. I am guessing that there must be. It's just frustrating to be almost done jumping through all the hoops that one insurance company needed and become comfortable and very happy with my doctor, to having to think of having to start all over at the very beginning. I am sure that anyone that has had to go to appointment after appointment after appointment to get a surgery that can save our lives understands the frustration. I have been in the process of this for months and then to have it just taken away from me when I am only weeks away from my surgery is just upsetting.

    Surgery In 5 Days!!

I agree that it is normal to question if this is the right thing. But, from my personal experience I have had the surgery right there in the palm of my hand and now...it's all very unsure, and I have never wanted it more. So, for me to have had such a strong reaction to maybe not being able to have it, I know that it's the right thing for me. I hope that you get some peace about it. Good luck!!

    Change of insurance

Thank you all so much for your supplies. You guys gave me some great ideas. I will be calling my surgeons office tomorrow to apprise them of the my current situation and hopefully they can lead me in the right direction. I did find out that the insurance that I am getting does cover weight loss surgery, if it is medically necessary...which it is, and my work is NOT excluding it on their plan. They were aware prior to talks with the insurance broker that I was in the process and they asked about the wls coverage and were clear that they wanted no exclusion on the policy. So those are two good things. My main concern is that the dr. and the hospital are out of network for this plan. Well, the hospital is in network if it was an outpatient surgery. My surgeon however requires an overnight stay. I wonder if that is up for debate or not. So, I went to BS web site and he is covered under BS...but just not my specific plan. I wonder if that website is updated regularly and maybe he takes it now. I guess I will know tomorrow if I am able to get through to the insurance specialist at the office. If both the surgeon and the hospital were in network than it would be covered 100%. LOL...I know I am not that lucky. I went for my blood work today and plan to keep my psych appt and nut appointment in the next two weeks. Just gonna take it one day at a time. If I had any doubts about wanting this surgery or not....having the thought of it maybe NOT happening....cleared up any doubts. Thank you again for your support!! Have a wonderful day tomorrow...as it's late and I am sure that you are all zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Ciao
