  1. How long did you stay at the hospital with the sleeve? I went to MX so i was in the hospital for 3 days What did you eat the first week? First week, no food, liquids only What about dumping syndrom with the sleeve? I do not dump but sometimes if something is too sweet or I eat too much sweets I wil get a stomach, something I never had before When did you go back to work? I went back to work after a week, I don't have a physical job, so it was fine. When did you become pain free? Pain free about 7-10 days after I was completely pain free.
  2. Hey there good luck tomorrow!! I had my sleeve there with Dr. Aceves in March. I was also last because the other two ladies that were scheduled with me had bands, I had a long wait in the morning so bring something to do. I did not take the sleeping pill the night before and regreted it at about 3am when I woke up and could not get back to sleep. It was my first surgery ever, I wasn't nervous about the surgery until I woke up at 3am!! Go figure!
  3. or protien only, i'm having trouble getting all my water in and I bought the fruit punch one today and it is pretty good.
  4. Hi Anngie, I was also looking into Dr. Ortiz. I have heard lots of good things about his surgical experience. I have decided to go with Dr. Aceves. I still don't have a date, I have talking with the patient coordinator and am doing my research to find a fill doctor who will see me. There are a few in my area. :rolleyes2:
  5. Hi low BMIers, Has anyone here been banded by Dr. Aceves?? I have not been banded and was wondering if my low bmi would be a problem with him.
  6. Great thanks for the info!!
  7. How about a way to see everything you posted or threads you have started without having to go back to the original thread or post. Sometimes I loose track of where I have posted and this would be helpful
  8. My name is Tawnya, I am 30 years old no husband or kids, just a very active and cute Jack Russell!!! I am in the research stage of lap band. I am set on getting it I'm just researching doctors in MX because I am self pay. Apparently I'm not fat enough for my insurance!! I live in the bay area ca, there are lots of great doctors out here just expensive. I have been up and down my whole adult life. I am at my highest now which is 230. my goal is 150. although I have never been that thin, I can't wait to see what I look like. Nice to meet everyone!!
  9. Hi everyone, I have been reading all the posts from everyone on this thread!! I am very thrilled to find you all, I am 30yrs old and my BMI is 36 and I have not heard too much from people with a BMI on the lower end. I have not got my band yet. I am doing LOTS of research and been contacting doctors. I live in the bay area CA and am researching doctors locally and looking in to going to TJ Mexico. I am self pay so money is a concern for me but i'm not looking for a cheap doctor. So I just wanted to introduce myself and say i am very excited to start my lapband journey!! :clap2: Thanks Tawnya 5'9 pre op 239lbs
  10. Hi all, I'm researching Doctors in the SF bay area. So far I have heard good things about Dr. Wetter and have done some research with Dr. Feng. Just wondering if anyone has anything to add. Also has anyone from the bay area got their surgery done in Mexico and found a doctor for fills in the bay area? Thank in advance! Tawnya
