My horrible experience at a restaurant.

The manager should have answered your question about your bill politely. They have every right to charge it since it was listed on the menu; however, the server should have informed you when you placed your order. Perhaps she forgot to or figured you read it on the menu. The manager could have used this situation as a learning experience for all. He would have seen that you thought it was for them literally splitting the burger. He could have explained to you it was for overhead costs and explained to his staff to inform the customer at the time of ordering to avoid confusion in the future. I get that it wasn't about the fee but the attitude of the manager. It amazes me how rude people can be to someone they've never even met. It says more about them than you. I've never written a bad review but whenever I get exceptional service I always inform the manager, send an email/tweet, or provide positive feedback on the survey. I generally remind myself that the person being rude to me might be having a really bad day. With that said if it is over the top repeated rudeness I'm apt to say something. 3. Thanks for the tips. I think my biggest issue is going to be my belly. I am going to start strength training now and look into Biotin. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App
  4. Thank you so much for sharing. Your story is inspiring. I lost my mom when she was 49 due to heart disease. I want this surgery because I want to live. I have a 5 year old daughter and I don't want to miss a second of her life. I hope I too will have an inspiring message to share next year. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App

    Pet peeve: extra skin.

I'm 44 and definitely not a millennial nor a delicate snowflake. I am just a person who plans on having WLS in May with questions and hope for support. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App

    Pet peeve: extra skin.

I'm new to this forum as well. I see a lot of posts about other people's post. I made a post about the 180 day weight loss trial and what kind of Protein shakes I should consider. I felt so much support when I received responses. It made me feel like this is a place that will help me both before and after surgery. Later I read a thread about how people are sick of questions that have been asked and answered over and over. They werent going to answer any more questions like what kind of Protein shake, etc. anymore. The point was that newbies should be using the search option. I would have been a lot less embarrassed if the person would have just posted that. Anyways that is just my opinion as a newbie. Now I skip the my work here is done and tired of people ... threads. Ironically, I actually clicked on this thread because I was hoping some of my questions about extra skin would be answered. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App
  7. I registered years ago but never had insurance that would cover the surgery. My husband's company switched to BCBS of Alabama recently and now I have 50% coverage. I already went to the seminar and met with the surgeon. Today is the first day of my 6 month physician supervised weight loss trial. I went to a new doctor and she is wonderful. I am doing a high Protein, low carb diet. Is anyone else doing a 6 month weight loss trial? How is it going? How much weight have you lost? My doctor recommended a Protein shake and a fruit for Breakfast. The shake needs 20 to 30 grams of protein. Any suggestions?
  8. I didn't know they had samples on their website. Thanks for the tip. Where are you having your surgery done? I live in PNS but am having it done by SAMPA in Mobile because of the out of pocket costs savings. Last question. Does BCBS of AL require dietician meetings? 9. I love the Premier chocolate shake. I lost 7 lbs at my two week check in. I feel like I am doing well and adjusting to my food plan. My dr wants me to lose at least 27 lbs in the six months. I would love to lose more. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App

    Pensacola

Does anyone know the approximate costs for self-pay in Pensacola? My insurance does not cover any type of weight loss surgery. I am wondering if I can afford it.
  12. Hi everyone. I live in Pensacola, FL. I am just starting out in the process of researching this procedure. I know my insurance company excludes weight loss surgeries. I've looked around the forum and see there is a lot to read. I spent some time in the insurance and financing section. I also used the search feature. I wasn't able to find anything about the costs in my area for self pay. Can anyone point me in the right direction or has anyone paid for their own surgery in the panhandle area? Congratulations to all who have successfully lost weight. I would love to be a member of that club. I can see there is a lot to learn about the procedure and process so I will continue to explore now.
