  1. My son has ADD. He has been on medication since 1stgrade. He is now in the 5th. He had all the same problems you have discussed. The school wanted to hold him back a year, and I said no. I wanted the medicine to have a chance to work. He got it the end of 1st grade. Well to make a long story short, he is A-B honor roll and doing great. I would talk to the doctor, and the teachers. There is help.
  2. Girl you have the best stories. I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Ya'll our so sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Heather my mom said the same thing also. I think it is just one of those things that everybody has to put there 2 cents into.
  5. Paula, I'm right there with you. My husband wanted me to do it myself. I'm 38 I told him, If I could do it myself, don't you think I would of done that 20 years ago.
  6. Congrats to you. I'm sure now you will see improvement.
  7. Thanks. All I can say, is get the fills. They are a life saver. Before my 2nd fill I was eating just like I was before the surgery. I eat so little now, because I am always full. But, I eat whatever I want.
  8. VERY GOOD!!! Your almost there.
  9. I was just reading another thread, and I didn't want to hijack from that thread, so I started my own. My husband didn't want me to get the band because he was worried that I would lose weight and dump him. We had that conversation for the longest time before I was banded, and also after. I told him that I love him, and I was doing it for me. But, since I have had it done, and have lost weight, we really don't talk about it anymore. He has yet to say, Hey you look like you've lost weight, or you look great. It does hurt my feelings at times because we can be around friends and they will say it. I have asked him about it, and all he has said is you looked great before you had it done, so I don't feel the need to tell you anything. Has anybody else had this happen, or had any other success stories?
  10. I think I picked that number because it is small and seems like I would maybe look like a model when I got to it. Ha Ha. Your right though, the closer I get I will have to see. I'm 5'3. So I look short and dumpy right now.
  11. Congrat. It's not silly. I know exactly what you are talking about. It's a big achievment.
  12. 189 was my weight on surgery date. 168.5 is my weight as of today. I just weighed this morning to start the HeatherGurl callenge. Check this thread out. If you haven't already. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=15503 Anyway, I have had two fills. My last one was on 2/6. I was filled the first time to 1.8cc, and that did nothing for me. My doc then filled me to 2.4cc. I am doing excellent it at that fill. I barely eat anything, and I am full. I wish you the best. Trust me, the first month I really didn't lose anything. 7lbs total. The rest came off after the 2nd fill.
  13. Mariposa Bella I love your story also. That is something to be proud of. I can't wait till I get there.
  14. Hi... Welcome to the board.
  15. Hi, my name is Mary. I am 38. I did not meet my husband on line. HAHA. I have been married since Oct. I have 2 sons (14 & 10), and 1 step daughter (14). My oldest son and his daughter go to the same school and they introduced us last summer. I was taking my kids to eat, and they showed up. The rest is history. I live in Spring, TX. I have most of my live. All of my family lives here. I have two brothers, and my mom and dad, who by the way have been married 43 years, and are still very much in love. I was banded on 12/22. I have been over weight most of my life. I am short and thick, or should I say wide. I am going to post a picture as soon as I get the chance. I am looking forward to this. I need the push. I also enjoy reading about everybody. Best of luck to all of you. 189 Surgery date/ 168.5 Current
  16. I agree with Donna. It is your decision. You make it. My husband told his mom, even though I told him not to. Of course the first thing she said was I hope she knows what she is doing, and she better research it. Like I didn't know that.
  17. Can we pick names sooner?
  18. Best of wishes to you. You sound just like me.
  19. Can anybody give any helpful hints on what they are doing to lose? Heather you lost 50lbs. What are you eating, and how much do you work out?
