Bring it on.....

mind if I vent?

Every year of my life that I can remember, I have DREADED bathing suit season. And EVERY SINGLE YEAR, I have secretly dreaded going to the beach, putting on a bathing suit, swimming with my kids at the public pool, wearing shorts, going to BBQ's in hot weather, basically, showing what I really look like. Well, it is coming. And this year I dread it too. My surgery date is July 14 and it can't come soon enough.

I pray, that this is the LAST year, I dread the activity that I love the most, swimming.

I just spent a few hours over the last few days, looking for just the right bathingsuit. Straps have to be just so, body has to be just so, legs have to be just so. I only bought one, because I hope next year I will be looking at a different size.

I hear you.... I was just calculating if I lost an average of 1.5 pounds per week what would I weigh when bathing suit season comes.

I'm sorry you have to wait til July; isn't that kind of far off? How come your doctor scheduled so far in the future.

I live in BC, Canada. Lap band isn't huge here yet and the only doctor in Vancouver at the moment is booked up until then. Even at that, I could EASILY be bumped.

I have always been the same way at summertime. I hope I can lose alot before then. I am going on a cruise in June with my husband and friends. I am the biggest girl in our group. I want to be down some.

I'm surrounded by skinny people.

I haven't worn shorts in about 4 years. I'm too uncomfortable with the appearance of my legs. I'm knock-kneed too, which just makes my legs look that much fatter! Thanks goodness for capris, because our summers can get over 100 degrees!

Setting the health aside for a minute, and focusing on the image/appearance aspect of weightloss, one of the things I'm looking most forward to is being able to wear little when it's hot out - and I don't mean skanky little - I mean regular summer clothes (which have so much less fabric than what I currently wear during the summer). I remember summesr when I was thin... throw on the lightweight/short clothes and go. Now it's so much work - won't wear the shorts so I'm automatically that much hotter... have to find a lightweight shirt that doesn't emphasize the rolls too much, but can't be too heavy or it's too hot... so it's 100 degrees out and here I am in denim capris and a long-length, short-sleeved shirt hanging around me. Oooh do I ever miss the days of real summer clothes!
