  1. As others have said, you had the surgery for you and not for anyone else. If this person is going to tell others about your surgery quite frankly there isn't much you can do to stop her. My thought would be to distance yourself from this person as much as you can. You don't need the negativity on top of what already is a challenging journey. Just my $0.02

  2. What you are feeling is definitely normal. That's good that you talked to the nurse and she shared all that info. I'm 4 mos post sleeve surgery and still struggle psychologically, but it has improved quite a bit since the first few weeks. Because you aren't able to get appts with your psychiatrist very often, and he doesn't seem to specialize in this type of journey I recommend you find someone who does. Maybe the nurse you talked to can suggest someone. Continue reaching out on this forum. I've found it helps a lot. Hang in there.

  3. Interesting to hear that your husband has noticed the unbalance in the friendship for quite some time. His perspective is a good one to pay attention to because he's been able to see the pattern IRL.

  4. Friendships are kind of like a joint bank account where if its healthy, both people make deposits and both make withdrawals. If she has made a lot of friendship deposits in the past (being supportive, listening to you, helping you out, giving in your time of need etc.) then it just might be her time to make a few withdrawals now (your time to support her, even if it feels a bit one way).
But, if you're always making deposits and she is always making withdrawals, it's not a friendship, it's codependency or she might be a user. Only you can honestly know which.

But if it's creating feelings of resentment in you, it might be worth examining whether this friendship can really be kept alive or not. Sometimes relationships come to an end and its time to move on, as difficult as it may seem.

What a great analogy! I've never heard of before. Thanks for sharing.

  5. I had already posted my NSV's a few weeks ago, but got some new ones:
Officially threw my size 14 jeans up on the fat clothes shelf in my closet. Those tight size 12's are no longer tight.
Had to change the wrist strap to my watch from the large size to the small.
Can wear a long sleeve top AND a sweater AND a jacket liner underneath my winter coat and still able to zip up easily (last winter I could only close the coat - barely - if i wore a very thin shirt underneath).
Can wear nice thick woollen socks in my boots now (my feet shrunk!)
Found at by accident that I could sit on the floor with my legs crossed underneath me comfortably. I haven't been able to do that in years.

    Awesome on all counts! Congratulations!

  6. Hello. Sleeved Aug 15. Down 48 post surgery, 63 since pre surgery diet. Went from size 22 down to 16. Still nauseous and throwing up sometimes. Not tolerating most meats, eggs, or tuna. Still struggle to meet Protein, liquid, and exercise goals. Happy about the weight loss so far but nervous that the honeymoon period is going to end before I am fully in a routine of hitting those daily goals and then of course it'll be extra hard to get to a completely healthy weight. I haven't given up though.

  7. I got sleeved Aug 2nd. I’m down 41 lbs since surgery and 61lbs from my starting weight before surgery. I plan on doing a 5 day pouch reset for the new year. I’ve had a few plateaus and I haven’t been great about the gym. But I’m almost out of the 200s. Haven’t been under 200 in almost 10 years
Congratulations on the 61lb loss thus far! I'm almost out of the 200s also and am so excited for that milestone!

  8. I agree....but I don't want it to be or maybe I'd over eat again. food is just fuel....not supposed to fill our pleasure needs.
I got sleeved 8/1/18....have lost 73#, now weighing 156. I'm 65 yrs old and feel like I'm 30 again!! This surgery was the best thing I've ever done...wish I did it long ago. No pain or n/v so recovery has been easy. Was wearing a 2X....now wearing a medium. Goal is 130#. Reading these forums has helped me adjust to this new lifestyle.
Congratulations! 73 lbs since August, wow! Good for you!
