  3. I'm one year post sleeve surgery and am ready to start looking into having some plastic surgery to clean up the horrible excess skin. Although I'm happy with the Dr who did my sleeve, I'm not really impressed with the plastic surgeon he has teamed up with in his office. Any suggestions on how to find a good plastic surgeon? I would think I want someone who has a lot of experience with bariatric patients, right?

  4. Hi all ,
I am new to this forum so a little bit about me .
I had a Sleeve Gastrectomy 5 years ago and went from 19st 2lb (268lbs) down to 9st 6lbs (132lbs) I looked Ill and people constantly asked my mum If I was anorexic .
This was so much more than I ever thought I would lose .
I went from being morbidly obese to clinically underweight. I struggled to put weight on due to my job at the time being active and not being able to eat much .
I changed jobs and for the past 3 years I have been in an office environment, I know I've got some bad habits and every day is a battle . I've put on 2 stone (28lbs) , I'm still well within my health weight but I'm most comfortable 9lbs lighter.
I went private and paid £10,000 and I'm scared that I will end up where I started.
I'm trying to find out how many calories etc I should be eating to lose my 9lbs and how much to maintain .
I've come so far and I cant let it all be for nothing.

Thank you in advance for your advice.
Thank you for reading my post.

You are beautiful! Congratulations on your success over all the tests, and for putting the breaks on the 9 lb gain. You've got this!

  5. For those who are at/near goal, with sad droopy breasts, what's your favorite day to day bra? I know we're all different shapes and sizes, and I know it's good to have a professional fitting at some place like Nordstroms. Just curious what others have found that they like.

  6. ***Update***

Guys, I’m so happy I could cry. After really going full scorched earth/raising Cane with Aetna, my dr.s office, and with my employer, I found out today I’m approved. I really can’t believe it. Still don’t have a date but this is fantastic news. Thanks Everyone and I’ll be seeing you online here with probably more questions.
It was not easy, had to complain to the business office supervisor, the surgeon directly, I saved all of my correspondence and had an extensive timeline for everything and named everyone I spoke with at Aetna. If they approved me only to shut me up, I’ll take it.

This from getting initial “Sorry you are denied come pick up your paperwork”. I found out my advocate didn’t know how to file and appeal and that’s why she told me that.
Great news!! So happy all your hard-fought efforts were a success!!

  7. Thanks for that!
Honestly I think I’d be “okay” with just another 10 pounds to get me solidly in the 150’s.
Last time I weighed I was 163.4, which was last weekend.
One more day and I’ll have worked >90 hrs in 9 days and I’ll have a day off!
Waiting for Friday am to get on the scale as my poor feet and legs are puffy from all the standing. Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised to be 2-3 pounds up and that’s just something I don’t want to see after I’ve worked my butt off so I might even give the weigh-in a solid miss until a week or more from today.

Tomorrow after work I’m on the hunt for a bra that’s gonna give me some boobs.
Hubs and I are going to Bartlesville to visit my MIL and go to an art exhibit and throw a football party at her house.
I’ve got a cute cute dress for the art exhibit, but the top is pretty large.
Lol, I don’t even want the fake boobs for vanity— I think I’m going to need them just so the top part of the dress stays on!

I skip weighing myself when I think it's going to be an upper. No need to be blasted with something I already know, only to make me feel worse.

  8. Thanks for the compliment, didn't realise I had a great cleavage!
Very jealous of those that can wear boots, I can't wear mine anymore my legs are TOO skinny! I look like a little girl who's raided her Mum's wardrobe. It's a bit of a problem as it's cold wear I live and not sure now what to wear with dresses or skirts in winter.
I have just discovered another problem. I'm a bit of a hoarder and though I do give lots of clothes away to Op shops I can't bring myself to give the good stuff away! I was sorting my spare bedroom wardrobe today and realised that I now have evening and cocktail wear from the last 30 years, most of which fits ( some is too big) and nowhere to wear it. I don't work, rarely go to fancy events and I live in a small country town. Evening gown and wellington boots to do grocery shopping could look a bit strange!

  9. I'm in the not-telling-I-had-surgery camp where only close family and friends know I was sleeved last Aug 2018. Now at 100 lbs lighter people have been coming up to me more often asking questions. This post isn't up for debate on whether I should tell others about my surgery. Rather, I'm just wondering if a non-surgery patient could be successful by following some of our bariatric guidelines, e.g. logging food (at a calorie deficit), focus on Protein first to feel full, limiting carbs, drinking lots of Water, etc
