First time posting here— didn’t really understand what the thread was about and thought it was for people who had college age students who came home for holidays (haha!)
I’m just over a year out (dec 20).
I’m in maintenance and navigating all that goes with it- slipped into not tracking so trying to get back into that habit!
A side topic—- anyone have any advice to firm up neck area?!?! Ugh -
sugar free popsicles are my go to for sweet. There are also Sugar Free Chocolates but those are def a slippery slope 🙄😂

Walk and sip... repeat :)
Gas pains are temporary and walking a lot helps
You’ll do great 👍🏻Lolo 2020 reacted to this -

Same here. I’ve been wearing mine on my middle finger. Now that my weight has stabilized for last 4 months- I think I’m done losing so I’ll go check out the ring band that makes them tighter. Don’t know of I want to have them resized just yet

Those are soft foods not liquid. Depends on your dr.... I didn’t have to do a liquid diet for more than a day or two and went to sifts as tolerated . Others are on it for a month. I’d ask your team

I had mine over winter break (teacher) so 10 days including weekends . Just be careful to not lift anything too heavy
Wasnt about pain at all past day 3 or 4 (gas pain only) ... was about learning and getting routines around eating and hydrating -

I went through Boston Medical Hospital Massachusetts. Met with the surgeon in June 2018 and had my surgery 11/28. With my program it went as fast as you could get the appointments. There was an order to who you had to see when (psych was last). Also there was all the medical tests that had to be done. I had already had sleep study as I am on CPAP machine, stomach tests as I had severe gerd/reflux. So that also cut down on my wait time. I took as many appointments any time they could give them to me.
I started my pre op diet the day I met the surgeon and he gave me amount I had to loose. I lost quickly. Plus an additional 15lbs. But when I met with surgeon again in early November after I got my surgery date I had gained back all my weight. I thought I was done for. But he looked at me and said “ This is why you’re having this surgery, diets don’t work”. He wasn’t applauding my gain but was helping me understand how tough things are always going to be but with this TOOL I have a greater chance of reaching my goals.
Good luck to you. Stay strong!! -

Oh wow. Sorry you’re experiencing that.
On the carb front can they be “healthy carbs” like chick peas or Beans?
I often hear carbs as breads and potatoes etc so trying to hear things a bit differently around them and shifting to healthier versions.
I also wonder if the sugar has to be candy? What about one of those honey sticks? Or fruit?
Don’t know much about it but wanted to show support for you. I’m sorry you’re going through this

Keep doing you! You’re following your plan and she well,... isn’t. If she isn’t making lifestyle changes now it’ll eventually catch up with her.
Congrats to you for making the healthier lifestyle decisions
Don’t be jealous of her- she will lead to a bad place she will regret
Congrats!Liz The New Me reacted to this -
ALWAYS cold ! Like painfully cold lol.
I live with multiple blankets at night with a heated mattress pad too. At work I have a space heater :)
It’s worth it :)ProudGrammy reacted to this -
