  1. I did have a similar pain pre surgery life and was diagnosed with what’s called nutcracker esophagus . It’s reflux related. Not sure if that’s helpful but thought I’d mention it. Sounds like a similar pain
  2. Nothing to add for solutions- just wanted to give my well wishes. I hope you figure it out fast and feel better!

    Food Before and After Photos

Organic sweet chicken sausage (80 cal with 13 protein) with spicy mustard. Y.U.M. One link cut up- surprisingly filling. I’m addicted .

    Family eating

It’ll get easier once you can have solid food. Still isn’t easy making food choices that you’ve learned but it gets a bit easier when you can eat a variety of things again.

    I cannot finish

Just be careful on amounts- it’s a starchy vegetable . Starches turn into sugar. Check your nut plan for what stage you can introduce but typically 5-6 weeks out
  6. I chose bypass for max weight loss and saw that many people end up converting from sleeve to bypass. I also had reflux and that has a tendency to go away with bypass and come about more with the sleeve That said there are many people who are perfectly happy with the sleeve too so it’s a personal choice. Good luck with your decision. Use the search option on this site - this has been a topic many times and you may find the other threads helpful
  7. I’m mostly proteins too 7+months out. I did have a bit of avocado this week .

    Weight Loss !!!

    Nice work, congrats!
  12. Oikos triple zero yogurt is also a great source.... I think it has 15 g
  13. Lean meats. 4 oz of ground 99% lean ground turkey is 28 g and 3 oz of grilled chicken is 26 g. They make turkey jerky too which is like 9 g an ounce
  14. Blend ice in your shakes- it’ll make them thicker and you’ll be a bit more full (like a frappe)

    Seafood

I’d ask your nutritionist . With my plan I ate haddock with no problem. I just this week tried shrimp at 7+ months out and it went ok but they were the really small mini shrimp. I’d be hesitant to eat lobster or mussels etc just because they’re hard to chew to mush and I’d imagine them getting stuck Good luck

  18. “Cheated” for the first time in over 7 months yesterday at lunch. Had 4 mini shrimp. Wouldn’t be that bad but they were breaded and fried. They were mini mini ones but still 😖. Had 6. Figure not SO bad ?? Breading was prob a tablespoon or two .
  19. Don’t stress! And you’ve lost over 30 lbs in just over 3 weeks!! That’s 10 lbs a week!

    I'm Normal.

    Woot!! Nice job!
  21. I went to soft food a few days out of surgery- you should be fine. Just be careful it’s really soft and it’s mostly about letting your stomach heal at that stage and not popping staples or whatever they use inside your stomach. Get all the yucky yummy food out of your house lol. This is hard enough without temptations around

weight loss halt while still overweight

I guess it depends on what your goal is or how much you want to lose? I chose bypass for max loss quicker ( although sleeve can slower people have lost equal weight in long run), also BC I had reflux . I also saw many converting from sleeve to bypass and I didn’t want two surgeries to be a possibility at all. So I guess it depends on your preference and medical factors. Plenty of people with both surgeries here with a lot of success. Good luck with your decision.
