    8 days Post Op

I get the hiccups :) Earlier in my journey (just after surgery) it was a pressure in my chest too. Just remember to eat really slowly so your body has time to tell you it’s full- if you don’t you’ll eat too much and feel awful Once you hit real solids it gets better. Promise :)
  2. Definitely premiere protein shakes— blended with ice cubes to make them last longer and more filling . Sugar free popsicles tame the need for sweets ! Still do post op :) You’ve got this— it’s amazingly worth it!

    Vacation 8 weeks post op

Trip shouldn’t be an issue at all and you should definitely go!! Food and drink on the other hand will/ May be an issue.
  4. Premiere protein typically works for folks doing a liquid diet prior to surgery. They taste really good too- sweet but good . Many flavors

Bypass was really uneventful for me - what are some of your fears and maybe we can help ease them a bit?
  9. I’d be concerned with the dumping issue- I’d reach out to your dr ASAP. A year and a half out -yikes
  10. The rny was really easy for me- what are you specifically nervous about and maybe folks can help ease your mind?

    Hard to lay in bed

I’m with the recliner people! Then moved to a pillow under my side and my back so I was propped in the side position but not totally on my side. It helped. Give it a couple of weeks and you’ll be back sleeping on your side

    Takis/Spicy Food

No issues with spicy here- I’d stay away from Takis though 😮 Maybe try spicy hummus with veggies ?
  13. Look at peoples tickers or info on the side - that should give you some ideas I lost all of the excess weight in about 6 months. On the last 15 lbs to goal

    Surgery tomorrow July 10th

You’ll do awesome! Breathe, it’ll be over before you know it and onto a fantastic journey. Walk a lot to get rid of gas pains
  15. Seems like maybe too much too fast. Sound advice so far - and I second it— slow it down a bit . And no, the uncomfortable feeling doesn’t last forever but the smaller amount does . At 6+months I’m at about 3/4-1 cup and feel full.
  16. I had a bypass . Mainly for maximum weight loss and to get rid of any chance of reflux . I also notice(d) that many sleevers tend to have revision to bypass for medical reasons . I didn’t want to chance having two surgeries . I’ve had zero issues, pain or vomiting etc or anything people tend to think of when they think rny Good luck with your decision

    Fluid intake after Gastric Bypass

I had the same issue for a couple of months. Try hot water - or decaf teas . Hot water was easier to sip for me!

    Regret it

Try hot water ... cold water really bothered me for a long time. The hot water (decaf tea etc) worked

    Wound weeping

Some draining can be normal- I think you’re fine to wait til Monday if it isn’t red and don’t have a fever etc . As folks mentioned- keep it clean and covered Good luck Monday !
