So, I had my bypass feb 13/18. Just wanted to check in with feb bypass people and see if you are experiencing the same things I am: I apparently no longer like chocolate chip cookies- they used to be my kryptonite but now they just taste blah —anyone else’s taste buds randomly changed? I can’t seem to vomit (although I can regurgitate if I eat something that doesn’t agree with me- so far it has just been pork tenderloin and rice). I got the flu about 3 days ago and had to spend a night in the hospital getting rehydrated. I would dry heave and **** myself. Nothing would come up with the vomiting though so I never got any relief. Anyone else not able to vomit? losing about a 1 lbs a day but having a lot of trouble meeting my protein goals- anyone going through something similar?

It went well. I'm 6 days post surgery now, I started to feel more like myself on day 5. Don't necessarily feel hungry, but regular food is starting to smell not too bad. The surgery was the scariest thing I've ever done, but I'm hopeful it will be worth it. The nurses were nice and reassuring, they sent me home a day early due to my progress. You spend so much time on drugs (recovering from anesthesia, on pain meds, just generally sleeping) that you will be home before you know it. Don't be afraid to ask questions if you're nervous. Perhaps ask for something other than morphine since that stopped my ability to void my bladde temporarily. Wanted to wish you good luck!

I had surgery (roux on y)on Wed. Very painful, gassy and weak. Any timeline on when I will start feeling better? I don't want any food, swallowing large pills is hard. How are you all doing?

my surgery is feb 13, 2018. I go for my final weigh in on Monday. Nervous about the surgery and apparently quite smelly at the moment. This is normal/ketosis I guess. The shakes taste so bad. Been on two weeks of them and haven't cheated at all
