I’m getting ready. Off work now so doing some “meal” planning and taking care of stuff around the house so I don’t have to worry about that later. What about you?

Scheduling some bills in advance , doing some laundry. So things will be done while I am in hospital . My Mom lives with us, shes 78 and will do too much if I let her. I will be in the hospital from Tues to Friday so going to pack my bag tomorrow. I dont have young children anymore so no meal planning. Only my youngest still lives at home and goes to Georgia Southern University which starts the day of my surgery. Shes becoming a science teacher for HS. Husband is in the US Army. Thats my story...

Congrats on getting past your stall.

In bit of a stall myself for the last week or so. Was 315lbs for a few day, was only taking in 400-500 calories a day. Up to about 550-650 in the last two days. Along with walking, hoping this will kick the weight loss back into gear. I have lost a pound a day in the last two days but not sure if this means I'm out of the stall. Time will tell.

If your is losing any amount of weight your not in a stall. A stall in NO weight loss for 2 or 3 weeks.

  3. Just finished my preop appt, my surgery is Tuesday. Everything is done and ready to go. They said they will keep me until Friday. Thats their norm so to pack accordingly. Think I have that part down. So just have to wait to 2pm Monday to call for report time. They have you come in 2 to 3 hrs prior. Not sure why except they said it's major surgery. This is a military hospital. Excited, nervous here in GA.

And I love how the scheduler is like it's no big deal. B*** I just one more liquid diet added to my week!

So then I tell my husband and this is the text I get back: "Do you need me to change my days off or can your mom take you home from the hospital?"

GRRRR - You know what, I'll just take a damn Uber home. At least I know they'll be there for me!

Oh dang, he needs a readjustment, I will leave that up to you. Yea the Drs office doesn't realize all the that has to be made. My husband took military leave for 2 weeks so we understand. Thankfully he had lots of time saved. We are here for you always...

  5. And it totally depends on how long you stay in the hospital too. Alot stay 1 day. I will stay 2 to 4 days but thats my surgeon and a military hospital. Hygiene products, undies and slippers to walk those halls. Pj bottoms are a must to walk around without your bum bum showing. hair ties for the ladies or for a man bun.

  6. Wow, what a week. Dont fall for the come back to work early plea. They need to care about you also. I wish you all the best and this will go fine. Let us know how your doing after. Make sure your given pain meds that work for you. Walk as much as possible once your out of recovery to combat the gas. Best wishes

My drink cut-off was 5 am because of the late surgery. I'll bet they let you drink until 8. Give them a call.

The NP that did the pre-testing at my hospital told me I can drink up to 2 hours before the surgery time. I have the paper at home I will look.

And tey to stay up late, very late this weekend so you can sleep in very late to kill that time. I would be the same about the time and waiting. My surgery is the 14th. I will find out my time on the afternoon of the 13th. I hope you have a fast recovery. Best wishes

Hi everyone! This is my first post on this forum. I'm scheduled for a sleeve on August 16. My doctor doesn't require a specific pre-op diet, they just recommended losing some weight (and not gaining over starting weight) over the course of the 6-month doctor-supervised diet plan. I'm happy to be here, and finally taking my health seriously :)

Welcome, I am on the 14th ,VSG and no pre op diet. You have plenty of ppl on the same journey here.

I finally went below 400 this week. That was my first major goal. Next is 330, the weight I was at when I was probably in the best shape of my life when I played college football (6’6” 330). Then I want to tackle 250 after that as my ultimate goal.

I was stalled for about 8 days at one point since I last posted and then this week I was dropping 1-2 lbs every single day until I just weighed in at 393. That is a total loss of 84 lbs thus far.

Congratulations, you truly are a Mean sleeved Machine. Keep updating us.
