How long has your longest stall lasted?

I have been stalled 4 weeks now and I had my surgery on 3/16. I am down 32 lbs from surgery. I am seeing shrinking of inches - my clothes are becoming huge and I will need to start wearing smaller sizes sooner than later.

I week after sleeve surgery, doing great!

Doing great! I am very happy for you and your progress.
  3. Has anyone had anemia after sleeve and what did your doc have you do about it? Thanks in advance.
  4. NSV today. I have been wearing my size 26 jeans which have been getting roomy. So today I decided to try on my size 24 Lane Bryant jeans and see if I could get into them. Not only can I get into them, they are also loose. That made me feel super happy this morning. Weight is still 243 but the inches are definitely moving.

  5. Thank you. I did get one but not as comprehensive as this documentation.

    Gardening

I think St. Paul is in zone 4b, correct? That being said, you will likely be harvesting at that point. I wouldn't plan on pushing it, but you will be guided by your surgeon and how you feel. Maybe that friend that drives you can assist you in any weeding or whatnot that needs to be done for a while? I am also an avid gardener, and it was killing me to not get out there and putter around. I had to enlist the help of my husband to move the 1.5 cubic foot bags of dirt for me, but I have been able to do everything else at 6 weeks post-sleeve. I am 8 weeks post sleeve now.
  7. I just saw my oncologist this morning (I had stage 2A breast cancer) and my CBC labs are now showing I am anemic. I have fought this before on and off caused from the chemo/radiation, however, I wonder how much of this is now related to the sleeve? Oncologist didn't want me to change any of my vitamins/meds so I am going to lob a call to the surgeon. I am not looking to increase my iron because it really messes up my bathroom stops. The good news is my oncologist was really proud of my accomplishments so far with my WL. I love positive feedback! He told me that there are 11 cancers that are directly linked to obesity. It was this doctor that made me go from thinking about WLS to having my WLS. I am doing this for me.

Oh wow! Mine too! Congrats on your great appointment result!!! Sorry about the anemia. I'm fighting that too here. Wonder if it's from the chemo/rad? My surg said to start taking my iron pill daily and let's check it in 3 months.

Congrats on doing this for you and fighting like a warrior!

    Exercise after surgery

I am 8 weeks post sleeve/hiatal hernia repair and it really took me until week 5/6 before my full energy came back. Do what you can and get plenty of rest.

    Randomly being faint/dizziness

I felt this way after my surgery and it ended up that I was severely dehydrated and needed to go to the ER for fluids. Please call your surgeons. They gave me a banana bag - vitamins/minerals in an IV fluid bag. It looks yellow so they called it a banana bag.

    Gull Bladder Removal

This is SOOOO true. I had mine out when I was 29 and I was plagued by this up until I was sleeved. Now I am exactly opposite! LOL
  11. This is AWESOME! You should be really proud. Thank you for inspiring me to keep on keeping on.

    Having a NSV!

Okay so I haven't seen the scale move much in the last month, so I decided to redo my measurements. My hubby took them the night before surgery and then again today. I have lost quite a bit in inches which is really great for me to see and it helps me know this surgery is working even tho the scale isn't telling me it is. I also am seeing my right side is larger than my left...
  13. I did. Stomach was easiest.

    Pre-Surgery Benders

I totally did this the week before I started the pre-op diet. I didn't go crazy overboard but I did have a couple of my favorite foods. You are not alone!

One week out and in the ER

I hope you feel better soon. Sounds like you are in the right place to do so. Hugs!
  16. Bouncing around 243-245 and can't seem to break this stall. Since the month after surgery I haven't lost more than a few pounds. I am tracking my food and getting enough protein (I weigh everything), I have increased my workouts and I am now doing cardio and elliptical for a min of 40 minutes/day as well as weight lifting. I am drinking about 55 - 65  oz of water. I am staying at the 600 - 800 calories as recommended by my surgeon. What is the magic required to drop these pounds? On the positive side, I have energy and am able to move around a whole lot better. I feel good and that says a lot.  This week I had 2 people at work notice and told me I am melting away.  So things are moving, just can't get that scale to budge!!!

How often do you weigh yourself?

I am a little obsessive with weighing myself because I feel like it helps me stay on track. I only weigh myself most mornings. I have always been like this with the scale so nothing has changed for me before or after surgery.
  19. I say if the procedures will help you feel better and confident then GO FOR IT! You deserve to be the "you" you want to be.
  20. I have the same issue with the chewable berry version. They make me gag. I tried mixing in unsweetened applesauce but that didn't even help. I did try swallowing them whole and was advised to not do that as absorption wasn't optimized. Not sure about pieces - it likely helps some, but could affect absorption as well. I think a call to the doc might be in order for a final verdict.

FL Anthem BCBS 6 month req HELP! :-)

I know that my office had 3 months of visits prior and they had to be completed by certain dates. I remember I had to move around some work meetings to accommodate the last date. I am sure the rules are determined by the insurance and each one makes up their own set of guidelines. Have you had a change to call your insurance and ask them what they require? It might be helpful.
