  1. Congratulations on getting sleeved! I was sleeved on the 23rd. I did not nor have I experienced any nausea at all. I felt the pressure in my chest pretty bad the first few days. It is a lot better now. I only had major pain at the biggest incision site where the stomach came out of. I am happy to say the pain is much better and do not have to take the pain meds. I have the Gummy Multivitamins and was instructed to start taking them along with the calcium citrate my 2nd week. The Vitamin B12 was started right after I was discharged.

  2. I bought the chewable Women's Gummy Multivitamins from Walmart. They tastes a little fruity. I was able to start taking them yesterday and have not experienced any problems. I also take the liquid calcium citrate of 1000 mg, also from Walmart. It has the Vitamin D that I need in them. The. Vitamin B12 sublingual tablets 500 mcg. I ended up asking my Doctor for Liquid medicine for the acid reflux. I crush all my meds and take them that way until I am cleared to take my meds whole again. Hope this helps.

  3. I got sleeved July 23rd. I am in my 2nd week Post Op. Happy Birthday to us all! My birthday was July 1st, so this is definitely a great way to start our year off right with new beginnings. I was already getting in the mindset of healthy eating, so when someone bought me a cake over, I cut me a piece, wrapped it back up, gave it back with a huge smile saying Thank You!! They looked at me like I had lost it! Who gives a birthday cake back?? LMAO!!

  4. I am so sorry that you had to go through that! Be thankful to our Heavenly Father that your team put the brakes on! I am surprised that they did not have you do the works on heart tests. I was taking 4 blood pressure meds and my PCP would not sign off until I did an EKG, Echo, and the Nuclear Stress Tests. All those came back abnormal. I had to get an Angiogram and get cleared by a Cardiologist before my PCP signed off on the surgery. Since surgery, I have been only take 3 of my blood pressure meds because that 4th one tastes absolutely TERRIBLE crushed!! I would suggest getting cleared by a Cardiologist and talking to your Surgeon about your options on retrying the surgery. Much luck to you!

  5. I feel you on starting the liquid diet. I can tell you that it does get easier. By day 3 or 4 your body should start adjusting to it. My pre op diet was 10 days and I am 9 days post op still on the liquid diet. Concentrate on your why and it should motivate you to keep going and stick with it. I barely get hungry now. Just constantly thirsty. Good luck! You can do this!

  6. Today is my 3rd day Post Op. Had my surgery on Monday. Overall, I am doing good! My surgery went great! I am moving around ok. My pain level is normal. My greatest pain is the biggest insertion site. The gas pain is slowly going away. It is mostly in my chest and shoulders. Taking the chewable Gas X. I mostly slept all day once I came home from the hospital. I did not meet my Protein nor liquids goal yesterday. I plan to meet it today. My biggest challenge is my meds. Getting them down in the crushed state! They are just plain NASTY!! I am happy to begin this second part of my journey and have been feeling at peace.

Please keep wearing your CPAP! If you feel like the pressure is too high tell your dr and have them lower it. I am a RN and worked in a sleep clinic for years ....... Weight loss can definitely improve your apnea but it doesn't necessarily mean it will completely go away. Some people think that only overweight or old people have sleep apnea, that is so not true. We had many people in our clinic weighing 100 pounds soaking wet who have severe sleep apnea so it's not just weight related. However there were also patients who were very overweight and when they lost the weight the sleep apnea went away. You won't know if your apnea is gone unless you have another sleep study, I have a CPAP and I hate it but won't stop wearing it until I know my apnea is gone.

Thank you so much for this info! They didn't tell me to bring it on Monday when I go for my surgery. I was going to take it anyway. I was expecting to immediately be relieved of sleep apnea after surgery. Now I see it isn't that easy! Lol! Silly me!

This is day 8 for me with my Pre Op diet. In the beginning my stomach protested vehemently against not getting any food! It took a few days for it to settle down. The smell of food kicks it into high gear and I have had to do a mind over matter type of thing. If you can imagine that broth you are drinking as your coffee, that sf Jello as something else you would rather have, it just may help you along. This has helped me. I hope that makes sense. STAY STRONG AND COMMITTED! REMEMBER YOUR WHY!

    Thanks Cat!

You are welcome! Drinking my broth coffee right now! Lol!

  9. My surgery is July 23rd, which is in 2 days!! My Pre Op diet for 7 days was :

1 Premier shake for Breakfast and lunch.

1 dinner meal. 4-6 ozs of lean meat, not fried, steamed or raw veggies. Broccoli, brussel sprouts, green Beans.

Last 3 days is 3 Protein Shakes.

I am also able to have chicken broth, sf Jello, and sf popsicles. That's it. Water or add Crystal Light packet.

I am barely making it 10 days! I don't think I would last 4 weeks!! Power to you!

I agree on the fact that you need to talk to your Surgeon or their Assistant in helping you revise your Pre Op diet!! It is so crucial!!

  10. I love the chicken broth and the sf popsicles!! I wasn't put on a calorie restriction. I was told to have as much as I want. I have been making a "meal" of it though. I have my whey Protein Shake or the Premier Protein with broth and a few of the jellos. It makes my stomach feel like I really ate something. You know what I mean?

Good luck with your Pre Op diet, stay strong, and walk away from good, smelling food! Just saying! Lol!

  12. Hi guys!

My surgery is this Monday, July 23rd. I am a wreck waiting!! Just 2 days left.

I plan on taking a shirt and some shorts that stretch so it won't affect my stomach, basic toiletries, flip flops of course, headphones, an extension cord to plug my phone in. I have sleep apnea, so my CPAP machine is coming too!! Not sure if I will need it.

Much luck to everyone's upcoming transformation!

  13. Hello all,

Finally after all the months of preparation, the big day is almost here!! My surgery is scheduled for July 23rd. I am nervous, excited, and scared all wrapped up in one! More importantly, READY!!! I started my Pre Op diet today and it seems to be going ok so far. Let's see where I am at in a few days! Lol! I have a question though that my PCP has yet to respond to and I may have to call my Surgeon's office for help. I am a Diabetic and I take insulin. Since pretty much the Jello and popsicles are sf and the 1 meal is no carbs, I am not getting any sugar. I have been told absolutely NO SUGAR OF ANY KIND! My sugar is very low and I took a few glucose tablets. Has anyone experienced this type of problem? I took my long acting insulin and am wondering if I need to reduce the dosage?

  14. Hello all!

I am currently pre -op. Going through the approval stages. I just recently had my psych eval and she wants me to restart psychiatric and therapy counseling. I had stopped over a year ago and feel that I no longer need it. She refuses to sign off on my surgery unless I do this. I plan to get a second opinion.

I would like to know if anyone had problems with the their psych eval and what do you suggest that I do?
