  1. My surgery is July 23rd, which is in 2 days!! My Pre Op diet for 7 days was : 1 Premier Shake for Breakfast and Lunch. 1 Dinner meal. 4-6 ozs of lean meat, not fried, steamed or raw veggies. Broccoli, brussel sprouts, green beans. Last 3 days is 3 protein shakes. I am also able to have chicken broth, sf jello, and sf popsicles. That's it. Water or add Crystal Light packet. I am barely making it 10 days! I don't think I would last 4 weeks!! Power to you! I agree on the fact that you need to talk to your Surgeon or their Assistant in helping you revise your Pre Op diet!! It is so crucial!!
  2. I love the chicken broth and the sf popsicles!! I wasn't put on a calorie restriction. I was told to have as much as I want. I have been making a "meal" of it though. I have my Whey Protein Shake or the Premier Protein with broth and a few of the jellos. It makes my stomach feel like I really ate something. You know what I mean? Good luck with your Pre Op diet, stay strong, and walk away from good, smelling food! Just saying! Lol!
  3. I have been having low energy as well. I am on Day 8. I have been moving around, doing a lot of walking and it makes me feel even weaker. I have had to really get my water in. Get your steps in, but be mindful of your energy levels. Drink plenty of water. It will give you a full feeling and may put a pep in your step.

    Finally Here!

This is day 8 for me with my Pre Op diet. In the beginning my stomach protested vehemently against not getting any food! It took a few days for it to settle down. The smell of food kicks it into high gear and I have had to do a mind over matter type of thing. If you can imagine that broth you are drinking as your coffee, that sf jello as something else you would rather have, it just may help you along. This has helped me. I hope that makes sense. STAY STRONG AND COMMITTED! REMEMBER YOUR WHY!

Hi guys! My surgery is this Monday, July 23rd. I am a wreck waiting!! Just 2 days left. I plan on taking a shirt and some shorts that stretch so it won't affect my stomach, basic toiletries, flip flops of course, headphones, an extension cord to plug my phone in. I have sleep apnea, so my CPAP machine is coming too!! Not sure if I will need it. Much luck to everyone's upcoming transformation!
  6. Hello all, Finally after all the months of preparation, the big day is almost here!! My surgery is scheduled for July 23rd. I am nervous, excited, and scared all wrapped up in one! More importantly, READY!!! I started my Pre Op diet today and it seems to be going ok so far. Let's see where I am at in a few days! Lol! I have a question though that my PCP has yet to respond to and I may have to call my Surgeon's office for help. I am a Diabetic and I take insulin. Since pretty much the jello and popsicles are sf and the 1 meal is no carbs, I am not getting any sugar. I have been told absolutely NO SUGAR OF ANY KIND! My sugar is very low and I took a few glucose tablets. Has anyone experienced this type of problem? I took my long acting insulin and am wondering if I need to reduce the dosage?

Hello all! I am currently pre -op. Going through the approval stages. I just recently had my psych eval and she wants me to restart psychiatric and therapy counseling. I had stopped over a year ago and feel that I no longer need it. She refuses to sign off on my surgery unless I do this. I plan to get a second opinion. I would like to know if anyone had problems with the their psych eval and what do you suggest that I do?

I am a Cook in a restaurant. If anyone is in the food service biz, how long did you take off from work? I am planning to just take 2 weeks. The goal is to keep moving at all times. I can definitely do that at work.

I will be having my surgery sometime in mid May. I am really enjoying everyone's post in talking about their experiences. It is helping me to have an idea of what to expect. I had my first approval appointment with my PCP. I was very nervous about it. Thought I was going to really have a sermon with him on the reasons I felt having this surgery is so absolutely mandatory to me! To my amazement, he was in agreement with me having the surgery!! I just have to have a cardiac stress test first because of all the medications I am on. No problem with that. I am super excited and nervous about this journey I am embarking on. I am starting to buy some of the things needed. I am moving forward with hope of being able to do things that I can't do now. It's like my total outlook on life has completely changed and I am slowly moving to that light at the end of the tunnel!! Everyone keep moving forward and don't give up!!!
  10. Hi all! I have already had my Surgeon Consult for gastric sleeve surgery. Now I am at my PCP to get his approval! Nervous as heck! I meet with the Nutritionist later this week. I have to meet with the surgeon once a month for three months before thesurgery willr actually be scheduled.

Hello all! I am new to this forum. I recently had my Consult appointment and received my pre op packet and already overwhelmed. I don't know exactly when I should start implementing the pre op diet. I am guessing that my surgery will be late May for the Gastric Sleeve. Any suggestions?
