I’m technically “may” but the 31st. All of this is so exciting! I start liquid diet Friday so my friends are making sure I am treated to all kinds of yummy food the last few weeks [emoji23][emoji23] I’m honestly almost tired of eating [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] 🥂 to all of us!

One dr told me it was almost the same surgery....however, my surgeon wants me to have bypass bc my bad acid reflux....he didn’t say anything about Nissen fundoplication (my husband had it...for AR not sleeve for weight loss) I wasn’t going to have bypass (I told myself) but I actually feel peace about it. My surgery is on the 31st...

I think she meant it as a compliment. The first pulmonary dr I saw actually leaned over to view my body and said “really?” In a smirky way...that was uncalled for...the second pulmonary dr, the nurse said “I You don’t look like you need it” and it was different than the other dr’s smirky comment...not offensive at all....you can’t hold it against people who are genuinely thinking you don’t look heavy enough. They don’t understand the different reasons if they aren’t in the middle of it. I say let it roll off.

May 31st! Start my liquid diet on Thursday [emoji15] my first appointment was in February and my surgeon required several prerequisite appointments with various dr’s, my insurance did not. So now it’s just down to having the surgery....seems like a dream to me...I have PCOS (as per the name [emoji38]) and have suffered with several things over the last 10 years...I am ECSTATIC to be back to normal!!! [emoji1373][emoji1373][emoji1373]

I just read this entire thread...wow what a roller coaster! Not in a bad way but just a lot of ups and downs. I start my liquid diet on the 17th...this whole process has fell into place for me (almost waiting for the other shoe to drop) but really resting in the peace I have about this journey. I can’t wait to hear how it goes for you Little Green!

the GERD was why it was recommended I go with the bypass. I am ready. they changed the date from the 25th to the 31st....

why the revision if you don't mind me asking?

I really haven't had a lot of good experiences at Bailey...but I am glad you are!!! the other dr's I have told he is the one doing my surgery they have nothing but good things to say as well about katsis. we ALWAYS go to st Francis....I was there today lol one of my kids has asthma and having issues.

yep! small world! im just not going the Baily route. my insurance approved with no prerequisite dr appointments required by katsis. but its all done and im super ready!

I live in owasso lol using a dr by ORU..surgical associates ....the surgeon recommended it bc I have acid reflux

question friends....after your last pre op appointment (clearances), how long before you were able to schedule your surgery? I have my last one on Tuesday and very anxious to get it on the books...im even ready to start pre op diet lol

So my surgeon thinks bypass is the best choice for me since I have bad acid reflux and heartburn. I was a little taken back but I think it will be ok...any thoughts?

I thought the sleeve was going to be what I was going to have done per my referring dr but the surgeon said he thinks bypass is the best option for me due to reflux...anyone else’s dr say anything like that?

My dad doesn’t understand either. He isn’t as hateful as your sister in law sounds about it but he is not happy about it AND IM 40! Lol
