    when did everyone first poop?

8 days out .... I was barely consuming anything so I wasn't concerned. I mean if nothing is going in, what's going to come out?
  2. Are you using any type of scar treatment? I am using silicone tape, and my scars are quite faded. I don't know much about the single incision. But the scars from traditional VSG are really small. I would want to make sure I'm going with a technique that has been well tested, rather than a potentially riskier one just for the sake of a few tiny scars. And I am a fairly vain person, I'm not the type to dismiss these type of concern, but truly, the scars are tiny and fading with the silicone tape I'm using.
  3. Muscle Milk Pro - 160 calories (11 oz) Same as calories as Premier Protein, but Muscle Milk has 2 more grams of protein
  4. I use My Fitness Pal, and think it's a great app. You just have to get in the habit of logging. It's not a burden once you get used to it. As far as pills go, if you work at a desk, just lay them out next to your workspace. I do that and just take one every hour or so, so I can space them out to help insure they are absorbed by my body.

    NSAIDs

I would google. I know it CA CBD is sold at smoke/vape shops. So if you have one nearby you might want to drop in.
  6. I became intolerant of whey protein isolate, but it manifested itself as nausea vs. gas. I switched to Muscle Milk Pro, and haven't had any issues since.

    NSAIDs

CBD may not fall under medical marijuana laws. It does not contain any THC, which is the psychoactive component.

    Back to work?

Everyone is different. But I had a very easy recovery. I work from home, so I technically took no time off. I wasn't on any pain meds after the second day. I was able to work, emails, conference call etc., immediately. I was driving by the third day. No issues with doing laundry, light housework, fixing meals. If I had a sedentary desk job then 1 week would have been more than enough for me.

    Private Pay Moves FAST!

This makes me realize how lucky I was with my surgeon & insurance. I had my initial consult in October 17, but put everything on hold because scheduling conflicts wouldn't allow me to have surgery before the end of 2017, so I would be paying my deductible in both 2017 & 2018. So I really started the process on 1/9/18 and had everything done, insurance approved, and had surgery on 2/12/18!
  10. Thanks O&D! I am super excited ... I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
  11. I think it's just that your sleeve wasn't ready for it yet. My program has full liquids right out of the hospital, which includes things like sf pudding and yogurt. So it's not like you did anything crazy, like eat fried chicken, your sleeve just wasn't ready for it yet.

    Not sure it's working

This actually depends on the sweetener, and overall the research on this topic is pretty thin.
  13. I'm the same way, I burn out on food very quickly. But I've been that way my whole life, so not a new thing post surgery. I just keep my diet very varied, so I can continue to enjoy foods.

    Week 3 Standstill

Stalls happen! Focus on the positive, you've lost 25 lbs in 3 weeks, that's absolutely amazing!
  15. It's possible it may not have been the tequila that didn't agree with you, but instead all the sugar in a margarita.
  16. I'm 3 months post op and love my sleeve. I'm down over 50 lbs, and rarely feel hungry. YMMV, but for me it has been nearly all positive!

    Side sleeper?

I'm a side sleeper as well. I found a pillow wedged halfway under my side, halfway hugging it took the pressure off my incisions and I was able to sleep.
  18. There is often a microwave for use down in the mini market area. Tons of great ideas on here already. I'd just add shelf stable hummus, maybe with cucumber. Or if you have fridge room the refrigerated Sabra cups. You should have coffee maker that you can use for hot water, I like some of the high protein soups from this site. If you get access to a microwave, shelf stable soups in asepctic boxes, heated in a coffee mug. I loved Trader Joe's/Pacific brand Tomato w Roasted Red Pepper.
  19. Here's the thing, you may not want to drink! I'm in a line of work where drinking is big part of the job. Honestly, I like drinking, I was a big social drinker. I had no intention of giving up drinking. But since surgery it's just not appealing. When I drank, it was just blah. I have drank two times since that week I talked about above. One time I was at a work dinner on my birthday and a very expensive bottle of wine was ordered in my honor, so my arm was twisted into having a glass, it was fine, but still blah. The only time I really wanted and enjoyed alcohol was at a chic little french bar hanging out and eating charcuterie, and the amazing wine by the glass list tempted me. I savored a glass all night and enjoyed it, but had no desire for the 3 or 4 glasses I would have had presurgery. So in my totally non medical opinion, I say if you want a drink go for it. But be prepared it may not appeal to you like it did before. Also, if you drink consistently during your time in NOLA, you could be sabotaging you weight loss for that time, even if overall your calories are low.

    Freaking Exhausted

So I was feeling exhausted and B12 injections resolved it completely. But it was a different type of exhaustion. I wasn't tired, it was taking out the trash cans and I had to sit down on my porch to not pass out and I need to take breaks doing my hair and make up, because I'm getting too shaky type of exhaustion. So this doesn't seem like a B12 issue at least.

    Anyone NOT lose their hair?

I started shedding more than normal a couple of weeks ago, at 3 months post op. I take a good multivitamin, biotin and adequate protein, but still started losing my hair unfortunately.

    Not sure it's working

Some of us did not experience physical hungry for sometime post surgery. I'm one of them, so definitely not BS. I thought I was hungry, I wanted to order a pizza, I filled up my GrubHub shopping cart. But I came to realize, it wasn't my stomach telling me to eat, it was food cravings. It took me a while to figure out, because it feels identical. Real hunger didn't return for me until 3 months post op. And then this week it is gone again. I think many of us thought, head hunger, because of these comments "I think about food ALL THE TIME. Even in the hospital, the morning after surgery, I woke up dreaming of pizza and Italian rainbow Cookies". IMO that seems more of a food addiction/obsession rather than true hunger.

    Premier protein smells funny

The aseptic container is what keeps them good at room temperature, just like in other countries 100% milk is packaged similarly. The thickness is done purposefully by the manufactures, because (some? most?) people want a shake like consistency.

    Snacks YES OR NO

    Whisps! Those are great too!

    Snacks YES OR NO

Have you tried 34 Degree crackers? I love them with a wedge of Laughing Cow Cheese. 4 crackers and 1 wedge is 57 calories.
