  1. I find counting everything is s much easier these days with apps like My Fitness Pal. But counting macros is just a different way of counting calories, since each gram has a fixed caloric value. The first video literally said the only thing that matters is limiting your eating window. I mean in my fantasy world I'd love to be able to eat recklessly even if only for limited number of hours. But unfortunately that's not the real world.
  2. I'd have to do the reading on the studies behind this to get a solid opinion .... BUT The first video has some red flags, for me. "It's not about what you eat, it's about when you eat" Well that's just not true. One of the studies it sites is based upon 8 people. That's not solid science. I'd be interested to see some of the studies and if they tracked calories consumed. The BY study it says the participants ate their normal food. But were they consuming less of those foods because they had less time to eat, they cut out a meal or snack? Where did they get that schedule from, eat 30-60 minutes after waking up, eat a larger breakfast than lunch. I don't see any study sited for that. "A week later you'll start feeling all the amazing benefits" This sounds like the hype around every fad diet, IMO "Don't count calories, they don't matter" Don't we all wish that was the truth Why is there the focus to eat during the early part of the day? I didn't hear them refer to any studies on that So, I acknowledge I am a natural cynic. But if this video was the first time I heard of IF, I'd write it off as another fad diet. I know there is solid science behind IF, but this video just makes it seem like some sort of miracle. And we all know that losing weight, no matter what plan we follow, even when we have our stomachs removed or digestive track rerouted is hard af!
  3. Ok, this is nit picky, but 10 seconds in I'm turned off by full-proof vs. fool proof. Ugh, maybe I'm just terrible ....

    Dark Urine

Since you are struggling with weight loss, you really shouldn't be having liquid calories. There are so many no calorie options out there ....

    Mosquito Bites??

@Orchids&Dragons that's actually more common. Babies and kids get bad reactions, but as we get older, and get bitten more often our bodies become desensitized to it, and the reaction lessens. It's why people in tropical countries don't usually react to bites at all. Google "Skeeter Syndrome" if you're curious. @J San Never was treated with meat tenderizer, but my mom found other ways to torture me I'm an unusual case because my severe reactions didn't develop until I was an adult. It is also typical to get even more extreme reactions when you get bitten by a different species of mosquito. I learned this when I was afraid my leg was going to fall off when I was in Vietnam I've only found one thing that is truly effective, treating my clothes with Permethrin. Works for me even when coating myself in Deet and melting my shoes and nail polish didn't stop me from getting bitten. It's not very practical though, so I only do it when I visit tropical countries.

    Keto after sleeve?

Actually Keto is high fat, low to moderate protein. Standard ketogenic diet (SKD): This is a very low-carb, moderate-protein and high-fat diet. It typically contains 75% fat, 20% protein and only 5% carbs (1). Cyclical ketogenic diet (CKD): This diet involves periods of higher-carb refeeds, such as 5 ketogenic days followed by 2 high-carb days. Targeted ketogenic diet (TKD): This diet allows you to add carbs around workouts. High-protein ketogenic diet: This is similar to a standard ketogenic diet, but includes more protein. The ratio is often 60% fat, 35% protein and 5% carbs. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/ketogenic-diet-101#what-it-is If you don't have room for anything after you've eaten your protein, then that sounds like a pretty optimal post WLS diet. I guess I'm not understanding what you are asking?

    Calorie intake

    I wish that were true.
  9. Less than a week after my return, I'm down below my pre-vacation weight Super happy about this, especially considering the first two days back I didn't even really try to get back on track. So now I know for future vacation that I just need to rededicate myself to following the program once I return. This time, leaving for a business trip immediately did not help me. I'm much better at being disciplined when I'm at home. But I'm proud of myself for being able to reign myself back in.
  10. I had a hungry day yesterday, so I didn't do IF. But at least everything I ate was smart choices, so I'm ok with that. We'll see if my hunger monster is awake today, if it has taken the day off I'll do IF today. @GreenTealael I'm super impressed you can fast on a travel day. My travel days are planes and airports and all the food available gets to me, every time.
  11. I'm sleeved, so no absorption issues.
  12. Oh man, don't burst my bubble! I'm really ready to put the whole hair loss phase behind me!

    Ice Cream Recipes?

Well there is Halo Top and Enlighten. Lots of people love them, but personally, I don't think they taste good. I like Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt Bars. They are 100 cals and IMO they don't taste like diet food. I also like the No Sugar Added Fudgesicles, which taste pretty damn good for 40 cals. I have heard good things about Breyers Delights, especially the Cookies and Cream. Haven't tried them yet though. I'm pretty fascinated by the Yonanas machine that turns fruit into ice cream. If I didn't have too many kitchen gadgets for my small kitchen, this would be mine! https://www.amazon.com/Yonanas-902-Original-Delicious-Alternatives/dp/B005083ECS
  15. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just make sure there are some lean protein options available for you to eat. You won't have much stomach capacity, so just fill up on healthy stuff, and you'll be fine And if you want a bite of a cinnamon roll, or whatever other food is special to you on for the holidays, then if I were you, I'd go for it. This is a lifestyle, not a short term diet. If you go off plan for one day, just make sure you get back on it the next. Totally not the end of the world.

    Mosquito Bites??

I've never heard of anyone else being allergic to mosquito bites before. I mean, I can google it, so I knew I wasn't completely alone, but it does seem to be pretty rare!

    SMH

My tolerance for the "I haven't lost in two days, this surgery doesn't work" posts is almost at zero. I wish there was a formum for mid term WLS patients. As we approach goal or are in early maintenance.
  18. I can eat anything, nothing bothers my sleeve. For most people that's not what you should be worried about. The hard part is making the consistent choice to choose healthy foods.

    Calorie intake

I wouldn't worry about calories, but instead try to focus on getting my protein up

    Keto after sleeve?

If you're truly doing keto, then that isn't high protein, that is high fat/ If you are doing low carb, then that fits with most program's plans of protein first, then non starchy veggies, carbs last.
  21. Confession ... ever since my hair loss stopped, I have been not good about taking my supplements or meeting my protein goals. I just bought a f*ckton of products from the Bariatric Pal store (thank you 25% off + Store Reward Points ), to help me meet my protein goals.
  22. @FluffyChix ....That all looks delicious ....like, REALLY delicious! I'm also super impressed you can get 67 g of protein in at 500 cals, with all real food. I can't do it without supplementing protein shakes, protein soups, etc. One thing about living alone is cooking for one sucked pre WLS, and it just seems ridiculous post WLS.
  23. Thanks ... I was actually reconsidering because I've gotten some compliments as of late on them, in their natural state, lol. So it made me think maybe they're not so bad? I also really, really hate porn boobs (no offense to those who love them!), so I have to really careful about picking a surgeon who can give me very natural ones. So the thought of being stuck w boobs I hate makes me anxious.

    I can’t date overweight people

I'm in that category as well, so I know we exist. But I also know I am an exception. Every time you add a criteria you are narrowing the funnel. The further outside the norm the criteria is, the more dramatically you shrink the potential dating pool.
