Dieticians/nutritionists question
sillykitty replied to Zemi's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@Frustr8, will you please consider creating your own thread where you can share your journey? You can then update that thread with your progress, and anything else you wish to share. It will help keep threads such as this one on topic and relevant to the OP -
I made it with hot Italian turkey sausage, added both flavor and protein!

Just a few of the murals in my town -
Definitely report back! That sounds yum!

YMMV, but I had no issue with spicy foods. One of my first pureed meals was refried beans with cheese and hot sauce.

Aldi is now carrying an edamame pasta. It looks like it might be a private label of the Explore brand @sideeye recommends. It’s crazy cheap ($2.89 for 7 oz) and isn’t an “ Aldi Find” which means its an everyday item

Surgery release question
sillykitty replied to sunsetchaser's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It depends on your hospital. Mine didn’t ask any questions about who was picking me up. I’m sure I wouldn’t have been allowed to drive, but I could have called a Lyft -
I walk faster than the Google Maps estimates

Is this normal? Pouch Question
sillykitty replied to hburns89's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you able to differentiate physical hunger, vs. stomach acid vs. head hunger? They are all real, but they have different coping mechanisms -
But worrying won’t help the situation. Just stick with your program, and recognize you’re doing everything you can.

3-Month Post-Op Appt - (Gastric Sleeve)

Focus on that! Anyone else's results are irrelevant! -
Stalls happen, no rhyme or reason for them. You just have to ride them out. IMO, anything that "breaks a stall" is just concidence, unless you are eating at your BMR, and you decrease your cals, which clearly isn't your situation.

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
sillykitty replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
BBL = Brazilian Butt Lift Boobs, tummy and thighs are my must haves, my butt is a want to have (it's borderline, while the other bits are trash 😥) I could pack cute shoes, but for most of the walking outings, walking is the event, like at a food fest, or bar hopping 😣 I'm sure the mom meet will go well, I'm just afraid of awkward silences. From everything I know she is a very nice, sweet person No boo vacays planned as of yet. We have a hard enough time fitting in weekend getaways with our schedules! This is a mom vacay, to Iceland. -

Let's chat .... Stream of conscientiousness style 😁 Been busy at work, but less travel YTD. So want that to pick up, mama needs her points and miles 😂 Things have been really good with the bf. This weekend is the big mom-meet 😓! Also, feeling this is really serious / long term. His friend whom he spends the most time with asked for my contact info, so we could plan his upcoming bday together. So makes me feel accepted and a big part of his life, you know? Saw a Groupon for a BBL for a great price, for a really reputable surgeon. Spent hours contemplating if I could fit it in with no sick time taken, if I could find two weeks of guaranteed no travel. A BBL isn't my top priority PS, but it needs donor fat, so it makes sense to get it done before a TT and Thigh Lift. Also recovery seems much easier due to having such small incisions, vs other types of plastics. But then in reading about recovery, you're not supposed to sit for weeks, or really as long as possible, which isn't compatible with flights and meetings, like real life, 😪. I'm really enjoying getting out and walking to run my errands. The saying, "nobody walks in LA" is completely true. It's crazy, my zip's walkability score is 83, the weather is gorgeous, but the only other people out walking are either with their dogs, or have "issues". Since I'm super casual (ahem, maybe sloppy) around the house, I might look like I have "issues" too . Tonight I'm going to walk to a "Taste of ..." food fest thing, then Friday night staying overnight in the city my bf works in that has tons of restaurants and bars. Both my town and his work city are terrible for parking, so not having to deal with that is a bonus! There is one problem with walking distances to places though, you can't wear cute shoes 😥. On Friday I have an appointment across town, that has super terrible parking, and it's a 3 mile walk each way, I'm not sure if I can spare the 3+ hours out of my day for that. I have a vacation coming up that I just can't get motivated to plan for, I'm super behind and thinking about it stresses me out! Ok .... now everyone else's turn! -
Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
sillykitty replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
This! I recommend letting your tool (along with making good choices) do the work for as long as possible. Keep IF in your back pocket, for when as @FluffyChix says you get hungrier, WL slows, etc.. Then add in IF as your secret weapon. It is an easy way (for me) to suppress hunger and limit snacking, grazing, and therefore decrease my cals for the day. -

PLEASE HELP. I’m 2 weeks post op with very little weight loss.

Why would you think losing 11 lbs in 2 weeks makes you a slow loser? -
PLEASE HELP. I’m 2 weeks post op with very little weight loss.
sillykitty replied to GastricGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you need to work on having realistic expectations. Your thought process that your surgery didn't work, you're a slow loser, that this should be easier is worrisome. You've lost 7 lbs in 2 weeks! That's a lot of weight in a short amount of time. You think you are failing, when you are actually succeeding. Is there some one in your surgeon's office you can speak to, or they can refer you to, to help you recalibrate your expectations? -
You should WANT to follow the 30 minute rule. Try to extend the time you feel full and satiated as long as possible. I personally wait much longer than 30 minutes. I almost never put any substantial amount of liquid in my stomach if I can feel it still has food in it. I have no reason to want to wash my food down my digestive system

I tend to find IF easier when I'm busy. If you can push through until 2, then 2-8 would be the perfect eating window. Have you tried fluids when you get hungry, and seeing if you can get the hunger to pass? That really works for me, and the bonus is, I can easily surpass my 64 oz (which is generally hard for me). What I also like with IF is you don't need to be perfect. If three days you can push through your hunger, and two days you can't, it's still a total win.
