I need to buy smaller watermelons! But Aldi has been having them for $1.99 each for full size ones, I can't resist a delicious deal 🤣 I think I'm going to bust out my electric knife! -
Now that one I can do! 🤣

Reporting in ... I'm doing really well on my "walk at least a miles everyday I'm home" goal. I'm 15 for 20! 😁 That actually includes a lot of out of town days as well (thank you airports! 🤣) Declutter the physical I'm hosting a party at my house this weekend. So that is forcing me to tidy up. I'm not sure if shoving stuff into closets and drawers fully counts though! 😂

I admire all of you gym go-ers ... ugh, I just can't motivate myself to go. Although this weekend I have pics of my arms that tell me I need to do something, either exercise, or plastics. I hate exercise enough to want to opt for plastics, but my surgery list is already so long! 😟 Speaking of exercise, I've fallen off the advent skalender wagon, I'll do some flutter kicks this morning though, maybe some push up ... sigh .... Forgive someone ... I'm not really a grudge holder. So no one I need to (or want to?) forgive.

I found these! http://www.franklinfoods.com/greek-cream-cheese https://www.kroger.com/p/kroger-greek-cream-cheese-spread-with-greek-nonfat-yogurt/0001111086130 Bummer the Franklin Foods is only at 1 local chain (Sprouts), not well distributed in the West at all. The Kroger one is definitely not at my local Kroger store, but not surprising. It is a "value" banner, and doesn't cater to a demographic that is necessarily looking for more healthful options -
There are many differing opinions on this. Some surgeons subscribe to this theory. Others do not.

I hate it when the airport lounge only has healthy options 😂 Chinese Chicken Salad -
I think you need to work on the “if I stall I will freak” mindset. You logically known that you are building muscle. You know that you want more muscle. You know that you will feel and look better with more muscle. Focus on that, not the scale.

Anyone get surgery without "needing" it?
sillykitty replied to Ryanasaurus's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had no medical conditions whatsoever. I had the VSG to improve my immediate quality of life & to prevent future health issues. I only regret I didn’t do it sooner. Even without medical issues, I feel so much better now, both physically and mentally. Also, most of the time diet and exercise don’t permanently keep the weight off. I wanted the best chance for long term success. Finally, wouldn’t getting rid of the CPAP machine be enough of a reason? It seems like they would interfere with sleep quality and just beca general hassle -
Oh man, I may quit the fitness part of the challenge, or at least pick and choose. I'm too far behind and catching up might just kill me! I have though been walking, a lot (for me). I'm also maintaining below 130. So I'm still considering myself mostly on track for this challenge! Action shot of me hiking from this weekend!

I turned down opportunities to zipline over and over again over the years because most have a 250 lbs weight limit. I was too close to that to be certain I wouldn't be disallowed and have to deal with that embarrassment. But look what I did this weekend!

Yeah, I never really cook pork because it can be so dry. So that's why it was my first choice for the sous vide. I think next time I'd take them temp down a few degrees, to make it even more moist, especially for reheating. Meal prep just started out as sending leftover home with the bf (a win win). But he was so appreciative of it I now try to make sure he has at least a few meals for the week. He's on a eating healthier kick, so I figure I can manage to help more easily and less expensively than he can. -
Lies to tell people about what surgery I am having
sillykitty replied to a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@Michael S 's struggle will be all the meals firefighters eat together. A short term excuse to be out of work is easy, it could be anything. But for the next 6 months to 1 year, @Michael S 's eating habits will be drastically different then the norm. If he doesn't want to tell his coworkers about WLS, then he needs to have a rock solid alibi, and stick to it. I speak from experience on this. My job requires many many shared meals with coworkers, associates, customers, etc. For the first year my stomach capacity was so small it was 100% apparent to anyone I was dining with that I wasn't eating normally. Over, and over, and over again I had to give some reason I was eating so little. If I hadn't had a solid medical excuse, someone would have staged an intervention thinking that I either had a eating disorder or was not taking care of a serious medical condition. -

Just got a sous vide machine. This was my first attempt. Pretty successful I'd say! Pork Tenderloin This was actually part of a meal prep for my bf. Pork Tenderloin, Mashed Cauliflower, Peas with Parmesan & Pepper, Broccoli with Lemon Pepper I don't think he's realizes I make the veggies I don't like for him to take home. That way I get to eat the ones I do like with him, and he gets a good veggie rotation -
Day 13 - Give 3 compliments I was at an industry event, so saw lots of people, gave plenty of compliments. So this challenge was easy! Day 14 - Explore distraction free I don't think I do distraction free, I'm taking a pass on this one

Didn't quit! Just has been a busy week! I regret doing 5.5 days of the fitness challenges in one morning. I was very sore! But now I'm behind again 😠! 40 lunges, and 40 mountain climbers 😨, my legs are going to be jello! Despite traveling, I've gotten in a lot of steps this week. Thank you airports and golf! But I also drank a lot of beer, like a lot, a lot (but, light beer at least! ) I'm curious what the scale will say tomorrow Have a pretty active weekend ahead as well, at least one hike planned, and lots of other walking. My cals will probably be pretty low as well. When I'm with my bf I don't snack, so in 2-3 meals a day, can't get tons of food in. I always get down to the low end of my range afterwards.

Am I getting enough calories
sillykitty replied to Kara Duke's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Agree, don’t worry about calories, just focus on protein and fluids -
Most people handle protein shakes just fine. Give a few a shot before you rule them out!

I think you may need to go way higher than 800-1000 cals to stop your losses. As far as losing more weight after a week of eating higher cals, I know I see a pretty significant lag between cals/exercise and the scale. It's usually 3-4 days until I see the effect of either low cal and/or high activity days, and high cal off the rails days. Yes, the physical changes from 140 ish to 125/130 were dramatic for me. It was good for my clothed self, but hugely negative for my naked self. I lost two cup sizes. I'm still resentful of that! I can't speak to the body fat scale (mine has error-ed out since I bought it). I would probably take it with a grain of salt though, knowing how inaccurate they are. I would focus on how you look and feel. As you said, that 19% doesn't fit with what google tells you it should be. I would weigh being right in the middle of your healthy weight BMI a lot more heavily than that scale reading.
