I Need Some Serious Help!
sillykitty replied to wishingskinni's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Is it possible to get the temptation food out of the house. Honestly, I know for me it would be so much hared if I had that food around. -
That is such great news, I'm glad you found this option!

February 2018 Success Stories
sillykitty replied to kakatlady612's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm here! Been a rough week, super shaky, low energy & weak. I've been staying home to rest up and conserve energy, so going pretty stir crazy. -
I'm in

Well, 12 days post op now, and hit the dreaded stall. Even though I knew it was inevitable, doesn't mean it doesn't suck!

My program is cleared for everything after 6 weeks

Did you get prescribed an antacid like Rantididine? It definitely takes away the heartburn

Where are these trolls coming from?

Can you just drop all pretense that you're "spreading positivity"? You're a bully, and you obviously get off on it. I feel sorry for you that you you have all this hostility inside you. -
Do you miss being overweight?
sillykitty replied to Marissa37's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just had surgery this month, so I'm not there yet, but that is one of my regrets. I have a substantial professional wardrobe, with many pieces I love, not to mention the money spent. I regret I will have to spend $1000's replacing it all, but glad at the same time. -
I'm 9 days post op, and have been feeling fantastic nearly the whole time. I seriously felt normal the last 6 days or so, except for minor incision pain. Yesterday I overdid it with a long grocery shopping trip. I had also not been hungry the past few day so I hadn't gotten my protein in, and have only been at between 100-400 calories. I now realize this was a mistake This morning I am absolutely physically exhausted. Taking out the trash can has left me incredibly shaky and weak. How do I recover my strength? I have a business meeting tomorrow, which will be the first time I'll need to get professionally dressed, make up and all. I'll make sure I get as much protein, calories, and water in today as possible. But is there anything else I should be doing? I was thinking that maybe tomorrow morning I should have some carbs/sugar to give my body some fuel so I'm not as weak? I'm obviously not wanting to do that long term and sabotage my weight loss, but I need to get through my meeting tomorrow. Any advice would be appreciated, TIA!

Have you considered having surgery in Mexico? It can be relatively affordable.

My nutritionist visit and psych eval was done in my surgeons office, on the same visit. My insurance shows I owe a $20 co-pay, but my surgeon has never collected any payments during my visits, nor sent any bills.

How to get my energy back?
sillykitty replied to sillykitty's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks for everyone's advice. I'm still weak and shaky, and now have developed pain in my stomach after I swallow, that wasn't there before. I canceled my meeting today and have a call into my Dr., to make sure this is normal recovery, and not something else. -
My Dr. told me the surgery took 40 minutes. Mine was just the sleeve and a liver biopsy, no haital hernia repair. Maybe she is doing multiple patients the same day? I know my surgeon does.

Not a lot, usually 300-400

I'm 8 days post op, and have been feeling great. But I was a little over confident today. I went to get my nails done, then went to two stores on a long, look at every label, grocery shopping trip. I started to get shaky and sweaty. I apparently am not having quite the miraculous recovery I thought I was!

Does your stomach feel normal?
sillykitty replied to logicwand's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 8 days out, and my stomach is a little more gurgley than normal, but otherwise feels normal. I can drink pretty freely. Sometime I forget and gulp and it just feels a tiny bit weird. -
1 Week post op and already hungry?
sillykitty replied to bamby021's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The beans went down without any problem at all, didn't even have that weird feeling I sometimes get with liquids. I didn't feel full, but I stopped feeling hungry. It's like the itch was scratched. I'm also afraid of giving into the bad stuff, because it sounds so good. But I'm just taking it one bite at a time, and trying to make good choices. I have all the bad stuff out my house, so all my easy choices are healthy ones. And there is nothing wrong with cheese, I actually just picked up some light baby bell, mozzarella pearls & goat cheese today (really looking forward to the puree stage, lol!). As long as the quantities are moderate we can have cheese! -
1 Week post op and already hungry?
sillykitty replied to bamby021's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Same surgery date as you, 2/12, and I know what you're feeling! I was starving late last week and over the weekend. I honestly gave in and had some food from the pureed stage (baked beans, and refried beans), I hoped it would be more satisfying. It was satisfying, but didn't make me feel "full". But it did stop the cravings. I had to learn to listen to my body and after a few bites, the hunger and cravings were gone. I think it is also the adjustment process of going from eating lots to eating little. After a while you get used to eating little, and a lot of the hunger fades away. I've not felt hungry at all the last few days, and have had to make myself get the protein in. But I don't feel bad or nauseous, just not hungry. I'm going to appreciate this phase while it lasts! Also, take the antacid/pepcid/zantac you were prescribed, so it's not just a growly stomach making you hungry. -
How long were you in the hospital?
sillykitty replied to Apple203's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
One night. If the morning staff had been efficient, it could have been less than 24 hrs. The only positive for being at the hospital vs. home is better drugs. -
I hadn't started it until today, which was a mistake! But today I put it in my protein shake.

One week post op, first bm today and it was traumatic! Did you do 2 weeks non-cheating pre-op liquid diet? No, not required by my surgeon Did you do a pre-surgery bowel prep? Yes Did you have RNY or VSG? VSG

Going back to work after vsg
sillykitty replied to Rudedogg89's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm home based, so I technically took no time off. But if I was still working at an office, I could have gone back 2 days post surgery. I'm one week out and feel 98% normal, only a little soreness on the incision. So everyone is different, but if you recover well then one week off would be possible. -
One week post surgery - I am down exactly 10 lbs!! One tip for those who have recently had, or will have surgery. Start on the stool softeners, Benefiber, Miralax, etc., you will regret it if you don't! (I speak from experience, lol!)
