CBD may not fall under medical marijuana laws. It does not contain any THC, which is the psychoactive component.

Everyone is different. But I had a very easy recovery. I work from home, so I technically took no time off. I wasn't on any pain meds after the second day. I was able to work, emails, conference call etc., immediately. I was driving by the third day. No issues with doing laundry, light housework, fixing meals. If I had a sedentary desk job then 1 week would have been more than enough for me.

Private Pay Moves FAST!
sillykitty replied to Love2Travel816's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This makes me realize how lucky I was with my surgeon & insurance. I had my initial consult in October 17, but put everything on hold because scheduling conflicts wouldn't allow me to have surgery before the end of 2017, so I would be paying my deductible in both 2017 & 2018. So I really started the process on 1/9/18 and had everything done, insurance approved, and had surgery on 2/12/18! -
Shoot overdid it and angered my sleeve.

Thanks O&D! I am super excited ... I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! -
Shoot overdid it and angered my sleeve.
sillykitty replied to MedicVSG's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it's just that your sleeve wasn't ready for it yet. My program has full liquids right out of the hospital, which includes things like sf pudding and yogurt. So it's not like you did anything crazy, like eat fried chicken, your sleeve just wasn't ready for it yet. -
This actually depends on the sweetener, and overall the research on this topic is pretty thin.

Do you get tired of foods very quickly?
sillykitty replied to jrsone's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I'm the same way, I burn out on food very quickly. But I've been that way my whole life, so not a new thing post surgery. I just keep my diet very varied, so I can continue to enjoy foods. -
Stalls happen! Focus on the positive, you've lost 25 lbs in 3 weeks, that's absolutely amazing!

How long did you wait until you had your first alcoholic beverage???
sillykitty replied to abarr7302's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It's possible it may not have been the tequila that didn't agree with you, but instead all the sugar in a margarita. -
Does anyone regret getting the sleeve?
sillykitty replied to Kadidy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 3 months post op and love my sleeve. I'm down over 50 lbs, and rarely feel hungry. YMMV, but for me it has been nearly all positive! -
I'm a side sleeper as well. I found a pillow wedged halfway under my side, halfway hugging it took the pressure off my incisions and I was able to sleep.

Stuck in a hotel for 5 nights, what would you bring for meals?
sillykitty replied to YandereAngel's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
There is often a microwave for use down in the mini market area. Tons of great ideas on here already. I'd just add shelf stable hummus, maybe with cucumber. Or if you have fridge room the refrigerated Sabra cups. You should have coffee maker that you can use for hot water, I like some of the high protein soups from this site. If you get access to a microwave, shelf stable soups in asepctic boxes, heated in a coffee mug. I loved Trader Joe's/Pacific brand Tomato w Roasted Red Pepper. -
How long did you wait until you had your first alcoholic beverage???
sillykitty replied to abarr7302's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Here's the thing, you may not want to drink! I'm in a line of work where drinking is big part of the job. Honestly, I like drinking, I was a big social drinker. I had no intention of giving up drinking. But since surgery it's just not appealing. When I drank, it was just blah. I have drank two times since that week I talked about above. One time I was at a work dinner on my birthday and a very expensive bottle of wine was ordered in my honor, so my arm was twisted into having a glass, it was fine, but still blah. The only time I really wanted and enjoyed alcohol was at a chic little french bar hanging out and eating charcuterie, and the amazing wine by the glass list tempted me. I savored a glass all night and enjoyed it, but had no desire for the 3 or 4 glasses I would have had presurgery. So in my totally non medical opinion, I say if you want a drink go for it. But be prepared it may not appeal to you like it did before. Also, if you drink consistently during your time in NOLA, you could be sabotaging you weight loss for that time, even if overall your calories are low. -
Freaking Exhausted
sillykitty replied to TakingABreak's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
So I was feeling exhausted and B12 injections resolved it completely. But it was a different type of exhaustion. I wasn't tired, it was taking out the trash cans and I had to sit down on my porch to not pass out and I need to take breaks doing my hair and make up, because I'm getting too shaky type of exhaustion. So this doesn't seem like a B12 issue at least. -
I started shedding more than normal a couple of weeks ago, at 3 months post op. I take a good multivitamin, biotin and adequate protein, but still started losing my hair unfortunately.

Some of us did not experience physical hungry for sometime post surgery. I'm one of them, so definitely not BS. I thought I was hungry, I wanted to order a pizza, I filled up my GrubHub shopping cart. But I came to realize, it wasn't my stomach telling me to eat, it was food cravings. It took me a while to figure out, because it feels identical. Real hunger didn't return for me until 3 months post op. And then this week it is gone again. I think many of us thought, head hunger, because of these comments "I think about food ALL THE TIME. Even in the hospital, the morning after surgery, I woke up dreaming of pizza and Italian rainbow Cookies". IMO that seems more of a food addiction/obsession rather than true hunger.

Premier protein smells funny
sillykitty replied to kat brown's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The aseptic container is what keeps them good at room temperature, just like in other countries 100% milk is packaged similarly. The thickness is done purposefully by the manufactures, because (some? most?) people want a shake like consistency. -
Whisps! Those are great too!

Have you tried 34 Degree crackers? I love them with a wedge of Laughing Cow Cheese. 4 crackers and 1 wedge is 57 calories.

How long did you wait until you had your first alcoholic beverage???
sillykitty replied to abarr7302's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I drank at 3 weeks post op. I was at a week long work event that was very social, and had a heavy emphasis on drinking. I had no desire to drink and did only to try not to attract attention to my WLS. Despite only consuming on average 700 cals per day (including alcohol), at the end of the week I had gained 2 lbs. Quite honestly that pissed me off, and made me swear off alcohol for the most part. -
Checking in with all the february peeps
sillykitty replied to Dawn Hanaphy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
50 lbs post surgery is amazing, as is 70 total. No reason to be down on yourself! For reference I saw my surgeon on Monday he was very pleased with my weight loss (also 50 lbs) and said that was fantastic and above average. -

I’m doing great.. I’m excited about being down over 50 lbs and half way to goal! i eat out a lot do to traveling for work, so I certainly don’t always eat perfectly. I’m also terrible with water. But despite that my weight loss is on track. -
Following the Dr but 2 Wks post & stalled/overeating?
sillykitty replied to vsg4vfc's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I wouldn’t worry too much. I felt no restriction until I was on solid foods. I also stalled at 3 weeks.. I actually gained 2 lbs between weeks 3 and 4. I’m more worried about your surgeons reaction. I would also be upset if I was following the program and my surgeon told me that was not normal. -
Leg Compression Device Necessary or Unnecessary?
sillykitty replied to gully90's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I didn't use any leg compression devices either. In the hospital only one leg was working, so I also had the nurse remove it -
Another option might be low vitamin B12 levels. I was feeling exhausted, and I received a shot, and felt 100% better by the next day.
