I started around 3 weeks out

Ask if you can start taking pills yet. I had the same issue with chewables making me nauseas. In my 5+ months post op, vitamins are the one thing that have actually made me vomit. My surgeon's PA recommended Whole Foods prenatal. They don't bother my stomach at all. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B074KKKMBQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I stayed away from gummies because there aren't any that are very complete. And the patches fall into the too good to be true category for me.

Mostly I use Muscle Milk Pro premade shakes. It uses casein as the main protein source, and doesn't bother me. I also use Medifast shakes made with milk, when I am traveling. They are soy protein based. I hate how expensive they are, but when made with milk the Dutch Chocolate actually tastes pretty good.

That would be me

I have never dumped, most sleevers don't. So I can't help with this.

Ride needed August 1st in Salt Lake City
sillykitty replied to macadamia's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Like Uber https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2017/12/18/571689807/cities-with-uber-have-lower-rates-of-ambulance-usage -
I had the exact same thing happen to me at Week 4. For one, I had become intolerant of whey protein. So my protein shakes, protein ater, protein bars made me extremely nauseous. Once I eliminated whey protein, I still had intermittent nausea, and a dull grinding type pain in my stomach. But this was only when it was empty. Drinking water exacerbated the dull pain. I talked to my surgeon's PA about it. She told me it wasn't uncommon and would fade over time. And she was right. First the nausea stopped, and slowly the stomach ache became less and less frequent.

Not tolerating chewable vitamins
sillykitty replied to Letsgetgoing2018's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@Matt Z You know there can't be a clinical trial of one though? You say that the blood test show that they are working, but in another thread I asked what your blood test included, and you responded with this: • +TRANSFERRIN SATURATION • CBC W/ AUTO DIFFERENTIAL • BILIRUBIN TOTAL • CHOLESTEROL TOTAL • GLUCOSE FASTING • IRON • TIBC • Protein TOTAL • ALT • AST • TRIGLYCERIDES • BUN • CALCIUM • Vitamin B1 • PREALBUMIN • FERRITIN • CREATININE LEVEL, SERUM • VITAMIN B12 • FOLATE • HEMOGLOBIN A1C • VITAMIN D 25 HYDROXY • LACTATE DEHYDROGENASE • MAGNESIUM • BILIRUBIN DIRECT • ALKALINE PHOSPHATASE • ALBUMIN So your blood tests are really only testing, Iron, Calcium, B1, B12, Folate, D & Magnesium. You are showing deficient in D. Your body can store Iron, Calcium, B12 & Magnesium (D as well) to varying degrees. If you want to use the patches, and think they work for you, go for it. But I don't agree with you advocating these patches by saying your blood tests are showing they are working. Your blood panels are far from complete. Even if they were it is far too early to be able to declare any definitive conclusions from them. -
nauseated at work and need advice

No help for today, but call and see if you can get a prescription for Zofran -
I had an epiphany this afternoon. Grazing leads to physical hunger for me. So today I went out to lunch, had my lean protein and was full. As we are sitting there chatting, I was nibbling on shredded carrots and tiny slices of cucumber. I was happy with myself for choosing a healthy meal. As I was driving home, I realized I was hungry, physically hungry. I thought back to other times I had grazed, cocktail party with appetizers, Japanese Omakase dinners, Tapas style meals etc.. Every time after those I was ravenously hungry. They must trigger me in some way to make my stomach want to keep getting filled. I won't be able to avoid these situations entirely, with work dining. But I'm glad I've become aware of it though, so I can try to minimize as much as possible. Frustrating though. I'm sitting here hungry. My calories are low today (most days), so I should be able to eat. But if I continue to eat, it will just lead to more hunger.

Grazing Causes Hunger (for me)
sillykitty replied to sillykitty's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks @allwet, it's just curious though that if I just eat till I'm full I feel completely sated. But if I keeping "topping up" my stomach, that leads to hunger. I wonder if my insulin response takes a little longer to kick in than some. @Lisa K., I'm envious! Charleston is on my to do list. Since everyone knows about your surgery, that is a huge plus. I've had to lie, so business meals are a mine field unfortunately. I'm pretty relaxed about business dining. I don't try to be perfect. I have a lot of restriction, so even if I make poor choices, there is a limited amount of damage that can be done! -
Ride needed August 1st in Salt Lake City
sillykitty replied to macadamia's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well, I would fake it. I'd call a Lyft and tell them a friend is picking you up. That seems like a pretty ridiculous policy to me. -
So, I'm sleeved, so it may be different. But I travel extensively for work. I have no issues whatsoever. Nothing bothers my stomach, I eat a very wide range of foods. My first business trip was 3 weeks post op. I would never recommend anyone else to do this, but I accelerate my stages, and only avoided raw fibrous veggies that week. I've traveled most weeks since, without issue.

Not tolerating chewable vitamins
sillykitty replied to Letsgetgoing2018's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I take Whole Food prenatal. My stomach does not tolerate many vitamins, but these are fine https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B074KKKMBQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I also agree with @KimTriesRNY about vitamin patches. -
This probably depends on the area. The tailor shops near me are very expensive. I can get a quick hem for cheap at my dry cleaner. But anything requiring real skill is costly. I'm sure there are seamstresses that work from home that would be a less expensive option, but that is obviously harder to find..

How do you know if your full
sillykitty replied to Boujee_Susie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You won't feel full on liquids or mushy foods. You simply stop when you feel satisfied. Solid foods are a whole nother story, especially protein. You will quickly learn what full feels like. -
SLOW or NO Weight Loss one month post-surgery
sillykitty replied to Griffon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't think losing 20 lbs since surgery is slow to no weight loss? There is a physical limit to how much weight you can lose in an amount of time. You dropped 20 lbs, now your body is adjusting, and you will start losing again. -
Looks, Health, Mobility, Longevity.....Rank these motivations for surgery
sillykitty replied to Creekimp13's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
1. Looks - I'll admit, I'm vain. I want to be more attractive. Sad as it is, but being more attractive will also help my career, either with my company, or make it easier to move companies if I want to. 2. Mobility - I love international travel. I hate that my weight has limited what I could do, no hikes, no climbing bell towers, etc.. I hate that I slow my travel companions down or prevent them from doing things they would want to do. It was deeply embarrassing 3. Romance - I'm single, and being more fit will certainly widen the pool of potential partners 4. Health - I'm unfairly healthy for my weight. But I want to stay that way 5. Longevity - My family is almost too long lived! I don't necessarily want to live longer, but I want to be healthy in my old age. 6. Family - Single, no kids. My family is pretty great and loves and supports me no matter my weight. -
I slept in my bed. I don't have a recliner, so that wasn't an option. First 3-4 night I slept on my back, and then I was able to sleep on my side with one pillow wedged under my side and hugging another pillow.
