8 days post op & barely feeling the restriction I felt even two days ago. Normal?
sillykitty replied to JessiG's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
An acid reducer, like Rantadine, Pepcid, etc. -
I'm super lazy too, but the tape stays on a week at least, so it's not much trouble to use.

I've done a quite a bit of research on scar treatment, as I plan to have plastics later this year. as @GreenTealael mentioned, silicone tape, or gels are universally recommended by cosmetic surgeons. They're the only treatment that has actually been clinically proven effective. I used silicone tape soon after the scabs came off. I used the tape consistently, up until about 2 weeks ago. All I have left are thin white lines with a small amount of light pink/purple around them (I am very fair). Most people wouldn't notice unless I pointed them out. This is what I used. I still have TONS left over for when I get plastics. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B002VE9AL8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I didn't need much of an excuse for surgery or recovery. Both were quick and easy for me. What I have needed excuses for is how little I can eat. It won't matter if you dine with people infrequently, any excuse will work. But if people see you regularly eating 1-2 oz of food, and losing weight rapidly, they are going to ask questions.

Going on all inclusive vacation...need some tips!
sillykitty replied to Pink nova's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I agree that you will be fine. There will always be a lean protein option. Just fill up on that. I wouldn't be overly concerned about "eating correctly". You know a good choice over a bad, when you see it on the menu. Make the good choices and be proud of yourself for resisting the bad -
I feel the opposite. I feel thinner and less fat than my weight on the scale indicates. I think I may have body dysmorphia in the other direction, lol. I think flattering clothes that suck you in and have strategicly placed ruching make me look curvy and sexy. Now once the clothes are off, it's a trainwreck ... but way more people see me in clothes vs. out, so I'll take it!

I bought my little Cheez Its again I just cant stay away from them

Have you considered therapy? You want one thing ... weight loss. But your actions are in direct contradiction to that. You may need help overcoming those issues. -

But are you sincerely able to do this? How quickly did you go through the first 36 ct box? You had intended to moderate that first box as well, right? You seem determined to self sabotage. -
Yes, this!

@apositivelife4me You ask for help in your first post. You ignore @Orchids&Dragons suggestion to donate them, and now you are defending your choice. You posted asking about buying dates, and then despite most advice, you bought them anyway. And then there were your Irish coffees, and that's just what you have posted about. Some people can have success despite not following a traditional plan. But since you also posted you have lost 23 lbs in 3 months and you regret your surgery, it doesn't sound like you're one of them. Instead of posting your poor choices and then defending them, why not use the resources of this board to get on track and actually have a successful WLS outcome? -

Well, they may not be "the worst", but I don't beleive you received sound advice. Each 1.5 oz bag is: 220 calories 25 g carbs 11 g fat 5 g protein No matter what the rest of your diet is, these should be at most an occasional indulgence, not up to 2 bags a day. -
Hairloss with vsg
sillykitty replied to Tallandcurvy30's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost hair for about 2 months, from 3 months to 5 months post op, approximately. I lost a lot and I'll admit it freaked me out. Total volume loss is probably 33%-50%, based upon the thickness of my pony tail. But, I still have absolutely no regrets! My hair loss is only noticeable at my temples and hair line. If my hair is down, no one can tell at all. The hair loss, as much as it sucked, is absolutely nothing compared to how fantastic I feel and look! Seriously, size 10-12 pants, size medium shirts, a little hair loss is a small price to pay. -
There is no harm in taking them now and getting yourself in the habit

No time at all .... like first day post op ...

Worried about my wife
sillykitty replied to Biggamehunter's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to say I disagree with this. We already have the fat stores to make up for this deficit. https://www.bodybuilding.com/content/build-muscle-and-lose-fat-simultaneously-yes-it-is-possible.html https://www.self.com/story/how-to-lose-fat-and-gain-muscle https://bayesianbodybuilding.com/gain-muscle-and-lose-fat-at-the-same-time/ https://www.womenshealthmag.com/fitness/a19901609/build-muscle-lose-fat/ https://health.usnews.com/wellness/fitness/articles/2016-12-02/can-you-gain-muscle-while-losing-weight -

That is often a symptom of too much acid. Are you on a PPI? -
How long did someone help you at home after surgery?
sillykitty replied to MK686's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I live alone, and my mom stayed with me for about an hour after we got home from the hospital. She was satisfied I was fine and went home. I was a little sore, but had no issues doing laundry, making soup in the Instapot, etc. in the days after surgery. -
I had the same situation starting 3 weeks post op. It seems that I was deficient in B12, because a shot from my surgeon's office seems to fix the issue nearly immediately.

Worried about my wife
sillykitty replied to Biggamehunter's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Since your wife doesn't seem to think there is a problem and neither does her surgeon, have you considered that this is your perception, and not reality? -
Nearly 6 months, and nearly 80 lbs

Ok, your prolong pureed stage is definitely getting to you if you are craving cauliflower crust pizza!

I had a first date tonight, and didn't spend the whole evening with the voice in the back of my head saying ... "You're too fat for him, he's not going to like you because you're fat"
-
You're worrying for no reason. If your stomach wasn't sealed correctly, you would know. It doesn't require food intake to test that. Just relax and follow your surgeon's plan
-
Each surgeon's plan is different. The right way is to stick to the plan you were given by your surgeon.
