  2. As I mentioned last night, I had a good, no hunger IF day yesterday. I only had one meal, some leftover Kofta Kabab and rice. I took pics, but then realized it looks like the weight Fluffy just lost , so I'm not gonna post it! I was planning to top up with a protein shake. But I just had that nice, satisfied full feeling for the longest time. I didn't want to ruin it by washing it away. So didn't meet protein goals yesterday ( @FluffyChix will be so disappointed w me ) The only negative is I've been in a stall for a week now, up and down a little every day. Not unexpected considering the big drop I had after my vacay. But a little frustrating, none the less.
  3. Not my experience. I can graze with the best of them! I found that long grazing meals make me more hungry, physical hunger. I had a looong omakase sushi dinner not long ago, and then drinks at the bar after. I was drinking my damn water DYING of hunger, grrr! Ha ha, I have to admit I am totally vain, and love those type of NSV's! I had a good looking fit colleague said to me, "Girl, you look amazing! You must have lost 30 lbs!", in a southern drawl! I was like, yeah, uh huh, something like that.

  5. I'm kind of fascinated by this IF and hunger thing. So I had planned to push my first meal as late as possible, per usual on IF days. At 3pm I start heading home from an errand, and was starving! I was planning what I was going to eat when I got home, talking myself out of stopping and picking up something, the whole deal. But stuck in traffic (2+ hr to go 35 miles ). And then, poof, hunger gone! So now I'm hydrating, since I didn't drink much today because I knew there were no bathrooms on the freeway. We will see how the rest of the evening goes.
  6. I have soup a lot, cause I'm lazy, and it's satisfying. Most liquid + chunks soup makes me feel satisfied, and full, but doesn't feel the same as my restriction when I eat something solid. Pure liquid soups, like tomato just make me feel satisfied, but not full. Sometimes even liquid + chunks seem to hit my restriction, like the Medifast Chicken noodle, happens almost every time I eat it. I'm not super vigilant with the not eating and drinking, so I don't worry about it too much.

    I didn't recognize you with your adorable new avatar! I'm curious, did you drink much before WLS? Have a high tolerance? I was wondering because I had a super high tolerance prior to WLS, and from what I've drank so far, I might still have it.

  10. Thanks ... I know it isn't bad in the big picture ... but 8:30 pm carb delivery is never a good idea Menu reading always gets to me! Sometimes I have to do it for planning work dinners. But I always do it for vacations. My first trip to Rome I think I ate in every terrible tourist trap that existed. I vowed to always do my research after that, lol!

  12. I was doing sooo well yesterday. No hunger, pushed my first "meal" to 3pm, still no hunger, good on protein, fluids, supplements, low cals. And then I started looking up restaurants in Rome for my upcoming vacation, and all that "no hunger" bs was out the window, and Postmates was showing up at my door It's interesting because I felt like such a failure last night when I caved. But I was still in a 5 hr window, my cals, were still low for most people, I only ate till full then threw out the rest. So basically it didn't wreck my day, but the guilt! If this had been a planned meal out, where I just made an unwise choice, I'd barely feel bad at all. Today is a new day. Thankfully the late-ish carbs didn't wake up my hunger monster. We'll see how today goes, but IF is the plan (carbonara is not).
  13. I love how IF gets easier the more you do it. That's the opposite of every other "diet" I've been on.

    Oh wow @GreenTealael, I felt that I "knew" you, but this adds a whole other dimension. You had said before you were doing this due to a medical condition. I figured it was one of the typical weight related issues. I admire your courage, because the thought of losing my vision would be absolutely terrifying, even though I'm just looking at spreadsheets and PowerPoints, and I have to admit I failed to "get" the Mona Lisa . Super brave of you and super proud of you for taking the sometimes scary step of WLS in order to regain control of your life and your vision!

    Waste Food

    Couple of small things I do ... I eat really simple meals that are sized for 1 serving, lunch meat roll ups, quesadilla, etc. Sometimes it's just some jerky or some cheese. If I do cook for myself, I make sure it is something I will enjoy multiple meals of and will reheat well. If I have people over, I try to send all the food home with them. I split meals at restaurants if it is close family or friends, and they take the leftovers. Mostly though, I just accept food waste. It's sunk money, it's already been spent. So there is no "value" in overeating. It is more worthwhile to me to lose the weight, then to clean my plate, or eat all the leftovers, etc.
  19. Lol ... that is actually the carb column, not protein. But that Yellow Curry is way inaccurate.. It was about 1/2 oz of chicken, 1 potato piece 1" x 1/2", carrot piece, similar size, and about 2 tablespoons of sauce. No way that is 24 g of carbs.

    @CrankyMagpie Just my two cents, but don't let what you think other people are thinking alter your behavior. It'd be really unfortunate if you missed out on Indian and Sushi because of that. I eat out a lot, and no way I'd letter anyone's opinion, perceived or real interfere with that. Also, why 6 months? I am 7 months post op and have a really small stomach capacity. Like two pieces of specialty sushi roll, capacity.
