AEdoesRnY got a reaction from ProudGrammy in Any regrets with RNY?
So, not to comment on my own vanity photos BUT I’ve been so mired in a monster plateau for like 3-4+ weeks and it’s been easy to stop realizing how much progress I’ve really made. So, I’m going to say wow, what a difference!!

This is 100000% me. Obsessive research fueled by my neuroses=my approach to any and everything! -

Hi Annie! I’m also Annie! Wow!
I’m a little over 7 months out and I’ve lost just about 80lbs. I originally was sure I wanted the sleeve, but after researching the statistics about regain and looking at my eating patterns and how those would be impacted by sleeve vs bypass, I chose bypass. If you have any questions about the bypass experience/the first year let me know! I just wanted to say hi from a fellow Annie :)

Congratulations and best of luck! I have nothing to add but wanted to say congrats and best wishes!
(And as others have said, ignore the rude jerk...of course a dude wants to weigh in on taking contraception bc he knows SO much about it...lol)

Thank you for all the veggie suggestions! I love asparagus and green Beans but don’t make them enough, and when I do make them and other veggies I don’t put much effort/thought into how I prep them which probably contributes to me not being excited by them! Looking forward to messing around in the kitchen a bit!

I second the roasted veggies! Love cauliflower, carrots, and asparagus that way!

All great ideas! Great choices. Look at you go! I also do well with unpeeled (has to be unpeeled) cucumbers dowsed in unfiltered ACV (drink the ACV after the cukes are gone)--also celery with the strings and radishes with a tiny bit of Kerrygold butter (think about 1/2tsp).
Also, once you start roasting veggies at 450degrees with olive oil, pepper, Kosher salt, and granulated garlic you never go back! 25 minutes, toss with spatula, cook another 10 minutes or longer if you like browner veg. So dang good. Green Beans and brussels sprouts and cabbage planks/steaks are great like this as well. Super dry. Super filling stick to your ribs kind of food.

Maybe I will also see if I can finally get into broccoli/cauliflower - they’ve never been my jam but I feel like with the right seasoning/sauce/preparation maybe I’ll like them!
I have baby carrots and bell pepper as Snacks right now which I love, but it’s time for me to start branching out more with veggies!

Thank you so much for that reassurance! I did buy eggs the other day but haven’t hard-boiled them yet, I’m going to make sure to do that today so I have them on hand! I did get lots of veggies and I have chicken I’ll cook up too. I like the idea of trying to start with a denser meal (vs yogurt) and seeing how that impacts my hunger and snacking levels!
Thanks!! -

I had a super high calorie (relatively speaking) and super high carb day yesterday and had trouble avoiding grazing frequently during my window. For at least today (which is last day of spring break/working from hone), I’m going to narrow my window to six hours instead of eight. Pushing back first meal to 1:30 and going to try to stay focused and busy between now and then!
I figure that it makes sense for the first few days/weeks on IF to be a time to play around with windows and what works best for me! I know things will also look different once I’m back at work and have a different daily routine!

Also, as of this morning I’m at 200.8! Onederland is closer than ever! Today’s weight doesn’t count because I only count my Monday weigh ins, but still!
As I’ve mentioned before I’ve been hovering 203-207 since 2/1 (lowest in that two month period was 202.6 on 2/12, otherwise it’s been bouncing between 203.5-206.8) and after starting IF and being strict about tracking my calories I’ve lost 5.8 lbs since Monday. My period also started and I generally hold onto more weight the week or so before and then release it, so I’m guessing that combined with diet changes this week have made a difference!
Like I said it doesn’t COUNT yet and I shouldn’t have even weighed myself yet, but I’m so excited that I’m closer than I’ve ever been! I haven’t been under 200lbs since I was 12/13 years old!!!!!
Keep your fingers crossed for me that I get to have a onederland celebration soon???

Wow! Great list girl. I heartily concur!
Yogurt by itself for me=total slider. I eat it and look around for more! But if I combine with cottage cheese, walnuts/almonds, blueberries, Peanut Butter powder (yes I know), and sometimes 6g Fiber One--but at least the stuff before this that's listed...it sticks with me. But I keep quantities to 1/2c of the dairy mix.
Salads and veggies (raw and cooked, especially over cooked) = total sliders.
Pasta, rice, Beans, "complex carbs" = total sliders
Crunchy crap: crackers, chips, tortillas, including Protein chips = total sliders
Candy: sugar free Gummy bears and sugar free strawberry twizzlers = total sliders (please don't ask me how I know)
Soups/stews/chilis = total sliders
Anything (animal/vegetable/mineral) with gravy or butter = total sliders
Smoothies/protein drinks that don't have lots of spinach, a few berries, and a crapton of psyllium husks = total sliders
*****
So basically here's my recap. Everything goes through me like buttah except dense, very lean protein and separate al dente veggies. Some whole nuts have a "stop" to them.
From satiety standpoints: as long as I keep carbs low, keep carbs per meal low, and sugar per meals 5g or less per meal, then I can control my hunger and control my portions (except on salads...I eat 2x as much salad as I do meat + veg). Adding IF also helps me limit my hunger. The more I IF, the less hunger I have.
