  1. The only things I have had trouble with is soft breads(small, small bites) and rice, oh my rice =s made me feel like i was having contractions again.. eekkkk.. other than that I have been good to go. My friend tried ground beef and hurt her last time but this time it did better. so things can change with the band. I suggest trying small bites to see how they do. Best wishes Ann
  2. Howdy Ya'll, My name is Ann. I am happily married to my DH for 16 yrs. We have 3 wonderful kids, 2 boys and one girl. I'm in Central Arkansas, just north of Little Rock. I am a department manager at Target, Conway. I was banded March 31st by Dr Rex Luttrell in Little Rock. I love spending time with my family and have become addicted to walking, hoping soon to be jogging. I am happy with my band but worry too much that something is wrong, flipped port, slippage, or tube disconnected, that type thing, But all and all I'm happy with my progress so far. The reason I chose the band was so I could lose slowly and tone as I go, but I want it now, lol. I wish you all the best and thanks for starting this thread so we can get to know everyone. Ann
  3. I actually started to notice before band on pre op diet, but more the past 2 weeks. Some shirts I wore before are now lose on me. woohoo. I read on here some where that it is not uncommon to actually gain at first, but the losing will come. Best wishes. Ann
  4. Thank you all so much! I have not been journaling but will start today, great idea. I do see some difference in my clothing so that is a NSV. Thank you all so much for the great advice and the inspiration. Ann
  5. I was wondering if ya'll felt okay with how fast you are losing? I seem to be stuck, and it's really starting to bother me. I have had one fill so far ( it was Horrible, passed out twice). I have been yo-yoing between 3 numbers for weeks now. I walk 3 1/2 miles 5-6 days a week, and I know I have made a few bad food choices, but know I am eating MUCH less than I used to. I do choose fish or chicken almost everytime. I was just wondering if you all are happy so far. Am I just impatient? I mean the reason i chose the Lap Band was so i could lose a bit slower and tone my body as i went, but, I thought it would come off a little faster than this. Any advice, thoughts, anything? Thanks Ann

  7. First of all, do you want this?? If so then Push On, go to the hospital and attend the meeting and do whatever it is you have to do to get this done.. and next time you meet with the doctor point blank ask them, do you have time to do this? Here's the deal, if you want this and are willing to PAY for this, then that doc Has to make time. You Are paying for it. Best Wishes... Ann
  8. I thought mine was flipped. My doc said it was no hurry that they would fix it at my fill. But I would at least call them and let them know every doc is different

  15. Yeah that gas pain was bad. I am a little over 3 weeks post op and may have tried too much exercise too soon. I walk 3 miles almost everyday, and have even jogged a little. Maybe I just strained my muscles there, i dunno but it sure hurts. Gonna call doc monday i guess.
  16. I'm 4 weeks out as well and my large port incision is still sore. My doc said about a month and it is getting better. Now I have a terrible catch in my side, like I have been running. been for 2 days. Dunno what it is :w00t: I hope you get to feeling better. Ann
  17. I have been having pain in my left side (this is day 2). It's like when you walk or run alot and you get a catch. When I sit up straight it pulls. It is so sore, was wondering if anyone knew what the heck it is. I'm eating fine, and plumbing works, just constant "catch" in my left side. Really bothering me. Thanks in advance. Ann

  21. I'm so sorry for your loss. I know the feeling. My daddy passed away suddenly and we were Very close. The ladies here gave good advice. You need the time to mourn. You can drink more water to help fight off those hunger pangs. You can do this. Big ol' southern hugs for ya. we are here for you.
  22. Thanks for doing that. I was banded on March 31st 08 in Arkansas. Best wishes to all. Woohoo we are Losers!! Ann
  23. They make you drink some barium liquid. it is thick and gritty. made me ill lol. I think I was just REALLY scared and that made it all worse.
  24. Thank goodness I am not alone!! I passed out twice today at my first fill. I was sooo embarrassed, spilled water all over myself and everything. Feeling better now. Not looking forward to next fill, lol.
  25. I'm soooo embarrassed. I passed out twice while having my fill. The stuff they make you drink made me sick, but instead of throwing up I passed out. Then they got me into a wheelchair and I passed out again! UGH.... Has this happened to anyone else??:rolleyes2: Thanks Ann
