It wasn't meant to be snarky? I find that hard to believe, given that you go on to call her a crazy liar in the same paragraph. We all see things in the posts of others that we don't agree with, whether it's eating something we personally consider to be off-limits, or justifying certain behaviors and reinforcing old thought patterns. There's no shortage of things we could choose to be critical about.
I wouldn't have thought you were out of line if you only expressed concern for her wellbeing, but you took it too far and attacked her personally. I, for one, will not tolerate bullying. I encourage those of you reading this thread - or others like it - to report posters who attack other members. Let's keep this a safe place for honest talk and respectful discourse.

Sooo, I decided to join you guys here :)
I had my surgery 9th of October. I am down 85pounds since preop and 41 of them where postop.

At the beginning I had no issue with Water, I feel a bit weird now after even some sips and have to wait some time extra before drinking again. I barely make it for the 60oz per day.
From foods I am mostly ok, been trying out a bit of everything, having issues only with legumes and spaghetti all others I can eat without issues so far (well from what I tried :p)
I think I am a bit slow in comparison to what I see from others when it comes to losing weight but I am happy for losing anyway :p. Just a bit more (less than 6lbs) and I will be less than the lighter I ever was the past 10 years ! Yay

I don’t miss sugar that much, as I was avoiding preop too... for savory Snacks I found something like beef Jerky here, it is dried chicken chips let’s say, super low calories, it’s chicken, Proteins and no carbs. The perfect snack :p

I fit in everything I ever owned and was too cute to throw away although it was not fitting anymore and I hope that I will manage to reach summer without having to buy many new clothes(I will pillage on my mothers closet most likely lol)
Sometimes I think my blood pressure is quite low after surgery (was about 12-14max. before surgery now it can be as low as 10)
Also there is no more sweating... last year I was sweating after five steps maximum, even at midwinter, now I am feeling mostly chilly and have to wear layers to fix that.
Also I had a bad allergic reaction every day for a week most likely from the cold, I am on antihistamines and cortisone therapy now (I was so scared to take the cortisones I didn’t want to get back the precious kilos I just lost but oh well I am on day 9 of my treatment, it may slowed me down a bit but there was no regain)
That’s all that comes to my mind at the moment, will update if something else comes up :)
Be safe everyone and love yourselves!

Just realized that I'm 6 weeks post op today, 21 lbs down since surgery and 31 down pre surgery.
I'm even happier that I'm losing more inches than I can count! I was size 20 and now I'm wearing 16 which are loose already but the 14s don't fit yet.
    Beyond happy with the results.

I did tried them and really liked them! I just wanted some more variety like the honey mustard and onion snack they have at the BP store and will try them...I get bored of the same Snacks real easy and fast hahaha. Thanks

I brought it up to my doc on my 2nd post op visit because of the holiday season and he cleared me on alcohol in moderation as well as caffeine. I have a few shots worth every other weekend or so, but i did talk to him about it first. My suggestion would be to talk to your doc first. My surgery was on 10/23.

Have you tried Parm Chrisps yet? I get them from Sams Club. They are 100% parm cheese. Nice and crunchy and the serving size is HUGE. Half a serving size satisfies my craving. I did binge on them once and felt so mad at myself until I realized that my “binge” was 130 calories, 0 carbs, & 6 grams of Protein.

I had a REALLY hard time giving up coffee before my surgery. I didn't get headaches, I just felt fuzzy all day. After I went back to work I started taking a mint with the caffeine of half a cup of coffee every morning. Lately I am having a very small cup of coffee at Breakfast (3-4 oz.) It makes me LESS constipated and happier.

I am having the same experience. I love coffee but it has been making me constipated since I have had surgery, which is a bummer because it used to cause me diarrhea. My NUT also said that i need to be have an additional 16 oz of water for every 8oz of coffee I drink on top of my required 64 oz. I barely make it to 64oz a day so any additional drinking is out of the question. I just miss my coffee! lol

Thank you for saying this. I don’t know if anyone follows Dr. V on YouTube... but he has given me a lot of really good information and it’s totally worth checking him out. He has a YouTube video on working out after weight loss surgery and I found it very interesting. He doesn’t recommend going to the gym for most due and it makes total sense.

@Yvonne47 I've made scrambled eggs twice (not even one week out) just because I craved it so badly. I kind of let it sit in my mouth, chewed 30 times like instructed, and swallowed maybe 1/4 of one egg. It hit the bottom of my stomach like a lead balloon and my dogs loved getting the rest of what I cooked.

I can't do any of the drinks. They're all awful. I've given up and eat the Protein Bars that I also hate. But not as much as the gross Protein Water and shakes.

Please don’t invest too much money/stockpile Vitamins, Protein, etc., pre-op. You may be surprised by the things your post op stomach may not tolerate.

I just use Mango app along with My Period app to remind me to take my Vitamins and Water. No need to spend extra money on a water bottle to let you know via app that it's time to drink.

What soft foods are you eating?
Yogurts, cottage cheese, Jello, Soup, pudding?
chicken salad, tuna salad, flaked fish, tofu, hummus, refried Beans?
Some things "slide" right through you leaving you hungry quickly, (if you see the term sliders thrown around thats whats being referring to)
Even in the soft stage you have to try to eat denser Protein to stay fuller longer, this will be the balancing act of your journey
I combat my "hunger" (some times its not) with warm soothing drinks until the next scheduled meal.
BTW You can do this !!!

I am almost 6 weeks out and finally not feeling hungry most of the time. I was starting to wonder if the surgery didn't work for me. In the last couple of weeks I feel like my appetite has greatly decreased. I agree with others, I do better with high Protein, low carbs. It keeps me full much longer.

Spent Friday afternoon cooking a bunch of purees for after surgery - spinach, sweet potato, butternut squash, and black bean. I like to pre-prepare foods and even though surgery is two weeks away and I'll have two weeks after that before I get to purees, I just wanted to do something to feel prepared.
Disclaimer for the following: I'm really just rambling here because I need to say this somewhere, but don't have anyone here to talk to about it (until I meet with my therapist next week), so not looking for anyone to make this decision for me. I am really not sure if I want to do this. I am terrible at making big decisions like this, so I know that I'll never be sure. I have tried everything to lose weight, and nothing has worked. So mentally I know this is the only way to do it for me. But I still just don't want to - I don't want to have any surgery (I've been putting off fixing a ligament tear for 2 years), I'm afraid that as a pescatarian (who really doesn't eat that much fish - mostly vegetarian foods), I wont be able to get enough Protein without shakes (even in the long term) or that I'll have to start eating chicken after 25 years of not), and I have other fears. But I'm also afraid if I don't I'll just keep gaining and not be able to stay in my multi-story home or travel or oh so many things. Anyway, like I said, I just needed to get this out in the universe. I plan to have an extra long session with my therapist next week to talk all this through (she specializes in weight issues and is great).

I’m 11 days post op (10/1) and this is the first day I’ve felt like myself. I had my 2 week check up today and my surgeon and nutritionist say all is going well. I’m down 20 lbs and was cleared to start stage 4. In my excitement I ate too fast. Got down 4 bites of chicken and it felt wrong. Then I felt sick and threw up. Horrible. Can I just live on shakes and yogurt? I also also got the all clear to exercise but I’m still so fatigued I don’t know what I could possibly get accomplished. Anyway, is anyone concerned about getting enough Water?

Got my sleeve does yesterday, i am
About 24 hrs post op. The procedure its-self was absolutely fine, quick easy,no issues. I do not really have any surgical paid, but the gas they pump you up with is horrendous. Sharp pains, with a burning feeling. They have gone down alot in the first 24 hrs. All i want to do is sleep now, but i get up to walk with no issues.

I was sleeved on 10/1 and physically I feel fine as far as pain but I just don’t feel right. Nauseous and starving to death and lightheaded. I have been such a with because all I want is food. I am going crazy on liquids but I feel like I want to puke when I drink but yet I feel like I could eat a whole pizza at the same time. So many emotions and questioning my choice to do this. And yes I totally have chewed food and spit it out!!! Ugh this is so hard

Had my gastric sleeve on 3 Oct. still a little sore. And finding that if the sip is too big it hurts a lot. Coughing and breathing are still a little painful. Lost 8 lbs in the last 5 days though.
