  1. Hi everyone. I have not been on here for a while. I guess life has been happening, but I have had the most discouraging summer and need some advice. I have only lost but 5 pounds in the last 8-10 weeks and I am flipping out. I don’t know what I am doing wrong. I just need advice as to what to do different. I have been doing everything the way it should hitting all my goals. Low to no carbs low to no fat. I exercise as well and walk a ton. Below are my STATS:

    HW: 298lbs
    SW:262lbs
    CW:215lbs
    GW: 170lbs

I had RNY 2/7/18.... just want to get some advice on to what people have been doing during stalls. I am the point where I want to go back to liquids for a while. HELP!!!!!

I am grateful everyday to be alive and to not be gaining weight, but this is discouraging.

  2. Howdy!!!! Haven’t been on here for a minute I have been super busy with life and work and getting accepted into college. Yes because I need more to do in life lol. Any ways been doing good which is good. I did mess up on some cravings this week- I had real ice cream and my oh my it was good until I dumped. Then that was over...
    s/p RNY 2/7/18
    HW:298lbs
    SW:262lbs
    CW: 226lbs
Loss since surgery- 36lbs down so I feel like it’s good I am over all happy with the progress. I feel energized and even though my arms are flapping and my belly is sagging- I feel beautiful than ever. Plus, I can cross my legs and feel like a woman yay! I feel good my friends I feel good....

Everyone is doing great I am so happy- can’t wait until we post before and after pics.

  3. My doctor has always been positive. The outlook he has is “look I am trying to help you stay on this earth for as long as you can..... so if you want to help then that would be very appreciated” so I did and I got RNY on 2/7/18 and now I’m 33lbs down and I see him in a week I’m hoping to be close to 40lbs down and hopefully ready to eliminate all diabetes meds....

All I can say to you is no one can make this decision for you, everyone will have mixed feelings, so you have to follow your heart. What do you want? I understand where she is coming from, but WLS is a tool. You have to use it wisely if not it can easily be the most regretful decision you have made. I have been overweight 10years and it took me a good 8 years to determine WLS was a fit for me. I did weight watchers, I joined exercise programs, I tried eating healthy, I eliminated foods, and just was not losing how I believe I should have so I opted for surgery. Now that I have had it, I still exercise, I still eat healthy, I still have eliminated a lot of things and the difference between then and now is the weight is coming off faster. As long as you are willing to try and never give up there is no reason why this won’t benefit you. Good luck!

  4. Morning Everyone......
    STATS
    HW: 298lbs
    SW: 262lbs
    CW: 229lbs (I am under 230 finally)
    GW: 160lbs to 170lbs

Total loss since RNY 2/7/18 is 33lbs. I know it feels slow but it is steady so idc. It is coming off whether it takes 6months or 24months- I am getting this weight off. I can say diabetes is resolving no more tachycardia and my waist is looking slim, plus I feel great. I do have off days where I feel just tired and exhausted. I hope everyone is doing great.

  5. Thank you for your response, I did reach out to my WLS surgeon and this was his response: Image1523559804.036596.jpg.57ccb751478445a03cce085158b7108d.jpg
Aquatic classes seem like a good idea, but money is tight right now since I have not been able to work and I can’t afford to sign up at my gym. I have been taking warm baths and that seems to help sooth my back for the time that I am submerged.
I also will look into getting my Vitamin levels checked and balanced thank you.

Please do and keep us posted. We are all in this together. I do hope you feel better and get some relief soon. I still think try to cut out those narcotics. They do more harm in the long run.

  6. I'm sorry you're struggling. I feel this same way too and I had surgery about 2 weeks after you. Why not do a week by week show like Misty did? You might see the losses better? Also, what are you eating in a typical day right now?
Here's my weekly report since surgery 2.20.18 (loss of total -24.8lbs since surgery):
    Week 1: +0.4lbs
    Week 2: - 7.4lbs
    Week 3: -3.4lbs
    Week 4: -1.4lbs
    Week 5: -3.6lbs
    Week 6: -0.4lbs
    Week 7: -7.2lbs
    Week 8 (Partial): -1.8lbs
I don't know about you, but I've never lost this kind of weight per week. Thanks Misty for hilighting this as a tool!!

I don’t have my weekly weigh ins. I don’t want to get devasted so I do measure myself and have been since March and I have lost a tremendous amount of inches. I am overall happy with everything but I do miss my caffeine. :) everyone tells me I’m shrinking so if people notice it’s a good thing.... you are doing great fluffy I am going to have to start calling you barely fluffy lol

  7. I am sorry to hear that, but I don’t think narcotics are going to help. Eventually your body if it hasn’t already will build a tolerance to it and it won’t work which is when they will try to increase it and increase it until nothing more can be done. I would consult with your WLS surgeon again, you would be surprised how many acute and chronic diseases we can develop post our procedure. You could be lacking in Vitamins, nutrition, fluids. I would start with the surgeon that gave you WLS- this could be more common than you think. Idk if this will work, but I have chronic back pain all the time too- aquatic fitness classes help soothe you pain and strengthen the core muscles in your back also it may help with alignment. I hope you feel better soon.

  8. Forgot to post yesterday..... hope everyone is well.... hardest week of my life, I kind of have been bad about liquid intake and Protein intake and it’s kicking my butt. Probablly why my body has slowed down on weight loss.

    STATS:
    HW: 298lbs
    SW: 262lbs
    CW: 231lbs
Total lost: 31lbs since surgery and 67lbs since my highest

S/p RNY 2/7/18 (64 days out). Idk I feel like I should have lost more... any advice on that.... then I think about it and I’m going down steady so I am okay with that as long as I go down... I can def. tell a difference now especially in clothes. I was a size 22/3x or 2x and now I am a size 16/XL or L. I am losing more volume which is weird that it won’t show in my weight...... Aqua fitness here I come.... everyone is doing great so happy to hear everyone is positive and motivated.... can’t wait for summer time.....

Question: what’s your fav thing to eat? Post me some recipes I am in need of a change up too.... lol

  9. Hello too all my skinny friends hehe ;).... I say skinny because we are all smaller than what we started but let’s get to the point
STATS ( not doing so hot but I have been following the rules and doing as best I can overall I am truly excited about my results)

    HW: 298lbs
    SW: 262lbs

My favorite thing to eat is deli spicy turkey and I know fruit is of the table but I do suck on an orange for flavor once in a while and omg delicious to me. QUOTE OF THE DAY:

“If it was about knowledge, we would all be skinny and rich. It’s not about what you know but what you do!” Unknown

  13. Hello everyone, I had my bypass on the 5th of february.. How are you all doing one month post op..

Hey great.... I had mine 2/7/18 so we are rather close. My progress, I feel, I feel has been slow, but I am doing over all good getting back to my work routine and life routine. I have good and bad days. My good days consist of getting everything in. My bad days are when I don’t and when I have trouble swallowing. It is like my throat narrows out. I have more good days than bad so for that I am very thankful. What has your month been like? STATS? Wishing you well and congrats!
    Image1521198298.349796.jpg

FYI peeps, I made stir fry with Shirataki noodles. I didn’t eat the noodles but the stir fry chicken and carrots was good all 2 oz of it haha. It was low sodium and practically no carb meal.

  14. Oh no! I missed weigh ins. (Big breath....sign...... hand on forehead lol) here we go:

    HW: 298lbs
    SW: 262lbs
CW:241.8lbs (finally lost a few pounds.... but i started measuring myself and turns out I am losing inches)

I also determined my bowels aren’t moving as well so that’s added weight I could for sure lose lol. Keeping motivated.

  16. Rough day today.... need some advice.... I keep juggling from 243 to 245. This is so annoying and frustrating I know stalls last but I just was hoping more progress yesterday I only drank Water and kept my meals small no more than 400 Cals tops yesterday. I am just discouraged I feel like I am doing something wrong. I am cleared to work out so I am going to work out today by the way for those of you that don’t like to work out or don’t know how to work out. Check out resistance bands on Amazon they are a great cardio muscle work out and it doesn’t really feel like a work out. I am sore today but feel great physically. Mentally I am in the gutter. Ugh!!! Anyone having stalls?

  18. Had shrimp and I did well. Tasted the same and was delicious. Bought jumbo shrimp and maybe ate about 2 lol I really tired to push it because it was and wanted more. I was the oppose of R.Kelly “my mind was telling me yes but my body was telling me no” so that was that [emoji4]

Omg my grammar is super bad.... I forget stuff when I type lol it was delicious shrimp and I was the opposite of the R. Kelly song

  19. Lemme know results please?!!! Aren't you about 1 week ahead of me? I want so much to try shrimp tomorrow night, but my spidey senses are "pinging," saying DON'T do it!!! [emoji20]

  20. I'm also almost four weeks out (Surgery 2/12). My post op diet seems more rigorous than most I've noticed here. Two weeks of liquid, three weeks of pureed, three weeks of soft and then FINALLY real food. I have to admit that it's getting me down - I know it's important, but I will have gone without anything solid for two months.
I'm struggling to get enough fluids and it seems like when I focus on that, my Protein goals suffer. I just need to find that balance. Protein Powder in my pureed foods help, but honestly I'm over that. LOL I find I'm leaning on Protein Shakes to do what I need to do.
My other challenge right now is that I feel like I'm not losing weight as fast as I thought I would. At three weeks I was down 13 lbs from my surgery weight. I've been reading a lot of people reporting that they've lost 20, 30 lbs or more in the first month. I'm following my meal plan closely, haven't "cheated" at all and I've only lost 13 lbs over three weeks. I feel like at this pace it will take forever to get to my goal weight and that has me seriously bummed.
Ok, guess I've vented enough! Sorry you asked, aren't you? LOL

You are fine and will lose at your pace. I am a month out and only down 19lbs. Just be grateful you are losing. How much do you weigh
