Good luck I hope my surgery will be at the end of March or early April

Hi i’m 47 female over weight since my first child 28 yrs ago. Gain 100lbs in that pregnancy. I saw my surgeon January 4 and agreed that the sleeve was my best option. I am 5’2” 260lbs BMI 46+ I have done everything that is required by my insurance company. They submitted everything to them two weeks ago so now it is waiting for approval. My blood pressure is up at every Dr visit. I believe it’s the white coat effect! I test it at home and it is normal. I am excited and nervous. I will also need a hernia repaired it was discovered Feb 9 during the EGD. Waiting for the results (biopsy) from that test too. Dr’s Office said usually it takes them over 2 to 3 weeks to get approval. Waiting game. I’ll be on a 2 wk liquid diet before surgery and then 2 else after. I am ready to be able to run around with my grandson in the Texas summer. I stay at home with my handicap daughter (she’s 28).

Don’t do it. My friend was taking it and had a stroke. She has never fully recovered from it. Change up your diet, exercise routine anything but that. Good luck to you

Waiting here for approval too. Just finished my last hurdle EGD today. They (dr’s Office) called me last week and said they have sent everything to my insurance company. So fingers crossed maybe next week I’ll get a reply. So patiently waiting in Texas

Exercise has not been my best friend since high school. I just joined planet fitness and will be setting goals to lift weights 3 days a week with walking everyday. Waiting on my surgery date. I know it is small steps but every one counts!

I had my EGD this morning. I have a hernia and they removed a polyp to be sent off to be tested. I should receive results in 7-10 days. Now all I am waiting for is approval from Insurance. Fingers crossed it will not be too long. I am 5’2” and weigh 260. This is my heaviest. I have been over 200 for 28 yrs since the birth of my first child. Need that push start to get me on my way.

That’s great! I have tried each time we changed Insurance finally this year our new insurance will cover it. I have my scope this coming Friday and it is the last thing to do. Once completed they will send everything off for approval. Fingers crossed I will get the answer this month and by the end of next month i’ll Be scheduled for surgery

I am currently in the process. I have my nutrition class Thursday. Still waiting for weight history from PCP. Psych evaluation done they sent it straight to the dr so no idea what it says.

We finally have insurance that will cover surgery. We had Cigna, Aetna (both said no) and now finally BCBS will cover!! So frustrating
