Insurance hardly covered anything for me. I still had to fork out over $7,000.. I did not have to lose weight for insurance. I lost 14lbs on the liquid diet before surgery. I did have to give at least 5 yrs of weight history from my primary dr. Not a problem I had been over weight for more 28 yrs since I gained 100lbs with my pregnancies. I start my weight loss journey in January 2018. I just had my 1 yrs Anniversary for surgery March 22. I was 270lbs at 5’2” I reached my goal 145lbs at 10 months. I go today for my yearly with the surgeon. Good luck to you on your journey it is the first step to a healthier you!

Maybe try the liquid diet (mine was two weeks). Nothing but liquids, no food. I lost 14 lbs. maybe with weight watchers and alternate between the two. Spending $$$$ for surgery Might not be a wise thing to do. It is definitely a life changing surgery. This is just my opinion. My choice was surgery but I had over 125 lbs to lose.

We can have it too! That’s when you are thankful you are near a restroom

I met with my surgeon first time January 4, 2018 and had my surgery on March 22,2018. So my process went pretty fast but it depends on all your insurance requirements...

They did require 3 to 5 yrs of medical records with weight history.

My nutritionist said it was ok to drink.

I am so sorry. But let me tell you. Surgery is a tool and you get out of it what you put into it. I am down 120lbs since March 22, 2018. Changed my eating habits, portion sizes, no alcohol and nothing fried. I walk a lot but not exercise in the gym but want to start that to tone up. Prove him wrong! Do it for you and no one else. Be the best you for you! Take care... let him see what he is missing out on

I am 5’2” and starting weight was 270 I had sleeve done in March. I weigh 150 now. My goal was 130 but after talking to my primary doctor and surgeon we changed my goal to 145 due to looking too skinny and unhealthy. So I am 5 lbs from goal

Plus the surgeon had 2 assistance and I was billed for each of them. One was $11,000 and one was $13,000. Fight this because he told me that he would have one assistant not 2.

from the hospital alone for one night stay I was billed over $65,000. Anesthesia I was billed $8,000. Surgeon’s Bill was over $6,000. Then I was billed separately for blood work which was $3,000

Yes I have it. I needed to show medical history for 5 yrs. had to do the nutrition class and the phyc. evaluation. I had my 1st consult with surgeon on Jan 4,2018 and had my surgery done on March 22,2013. Approval went very fast once everything required was turned in.

I have noticed that after my sleeve in March that I cannot eat cheese and other dairy products. Does a horrible number on my stomach. Plus I now have reflux..... which developed 3 weeks after surgery

You look great! Keep it up. I saw my surgeon Thursday. I’ve lost 105lbs. We changed my goal weight. When we first talked back in January it was 135 goal weight. Now I personally think at that weight I will look too skinny. So we agreed upon 145lbs... my primary doc agreed on Friday since I went for a physical I am not big on pics so I don’t take many. Maybe I will when I'm done

Doing good down 108 lbs. Over 52inches down in all areas of my body. I still have to slow myself down while eating. I’ve always ate fast. I did develop acid reflux afterwards so I take meds for that daily. Have not started lifting weights but I should have. I work around the house cleaning/cooking plus outside taking care of 6. alpacas and gardening. How about you?
