    no surgery for me.

What happens in the 25th? I will warn you that the day of surgery was extraordinarily painful. They pump you full of air when they do the surgery all that air caused me pain. Morphine alleviated it. Just a heads up. I wasn’t prepared. I’m down 19 today. One away from where I was 2 years ago.

    no surgery for me.

Hi! Thanks for checking in. Things are going well. I’m still getting the hang of eating slowly enough to realize I’m full. I’ve ended up with some nasty indigestion a couple of times. I’m down 18 pounds! I’m dropping about a pound every 2-3 days. I found a great dietician and support group locally. How are you?
  3. That is a very fair point. I literally COULD NOT BUDGE any weight per-surgery. I guess I just read about people shedding pounds like mad and wonder.
  4. I’m trying to be patient and zen about this whole thing, but at this point I’m discouraged and generally pissed off. I’ve lost 3 pounds in the last week and only 15 since surgery three weeks ago. I don’t understand how it can be physiologically possible not to lose weight on 550 calories per day, on average. I exceed protein, meet water, keep net carbs at 25 on average and I do 30 minutes on the treadmill every other day. Maybe I’m just in the group of people for whom this doesn’t work.
  5. Doing ok. Still getting the hang of it all. A few times I didn’t realize my pouch was full until I had taken one too many bites. What a horrible horrible feeling! Also getting the hang of my weight loss sweet spot. I have to eat around 550/600 cals, at least 60 - 80 grams of protein and around 25 carbs. I stop losing at 700 cals, even if those extra calories come from protein. I do about 30min of exercise per day and I’ve lost 15 pounds so far. all in all, very pleased, just getting the hang of it all.
  6. Thanks. I’m two weeks out, and protein is close to 90g each day. Carbs are around 25 and sugar is negligible. I have an appt with a bariatric nutritionist next week.
  7. Great. Thanks. That makes sense. What was/is your daily caloric intake? I ask, because I think mine is too low to be safe. I have a call out to my surgeon about it. I’ve been around 600.
  8. Hi. I’m curious. How many calories/day do you consume during the Weight Loss stage? I struggle to get to 600, but that probably isn’t safe. Thanks.
  9. Thanks. I just ate some thinly sliced ham, which is on my surgeon’s soft food list. This is so demoralizing and frustrating.
  10. Stalled at 11 pounds about one week ago. I’m on soft foods. Proteins are between 70 and 90 and calories are around 550. Net carbs are around 30-40. Exercise is 30 min/day. How is it physiologically possible not to lose weight under these circumstances? I hosted Easter Sunday and didn’t deviate from plan at all. I need to stick with it at this point, I guess.
  11. Ah yes. That makes sense.
  12. No, they did not. The point is that I thought one point of this surgery was to physically restrict consumption. Otherwise I would just continue to diet...
  13. I’m 1.5 weeks out and I just moved to soft foods today. I’ve read so many stories about people not being able to consume more than a couple of tablespoons of food in one sitting. That has not been my experience today at all. I was easily able to eat 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and one cheese stick? Is this normal? I’m of course worried my sleeve is too large.
