    My sleeve broken??

So I am 4 almost 5 months post op. I’ve been extremely depressed this month and ended up putting 5lbs back on, I did manage to lose the regain. But my weight loss has extremely slowed/stopped. I feel extremely hungry ALL the time! I feel like I have no restriction. Also I’ve been eating junk food with no problems. I know a lot has to do with my mind and willpower, but I’m worried I will never get back on track and that I will never get my mind right. I’m worried my sleeve is broken. Am I just addicted to food?! Has this happened to anyone else? I could really use some advice. Thanks for taking the time to read this post and thanks for the help! yes, I’m still working out....barely, but I go at least once a week.
  2. So I am 10 weeks post-op and feel like I’m not losing like I should! I know everyone’s journey is different, but I feel like I’ve hit a wall and stopped losing. Month one was great! Month two...not bad. So far this month I keep losing and gaining the same 2 pounds! I do have PCOS, could the be contributing to the slower weight loss? I know if I don’t get all my protein in that could cause me to lose lean muscle, but can it cause the scale not to move? Am I eating all the wrong things? Am I eating too much? It seems as though once I was able to eat solids and started to go to the gym my weight loss has slowed. Has that happened to anyone? I know I shouldn’t be focusing on the scale but it’s very frustrating when it doesn’t move. I do take my measurements so I can see if there is a loss there. I just thought I should be farther a long. Should I just toss my scale? Im worried the surgery isn’t working right!! HELP! Thanks for letting me vent!!

    Surgery Not Working??

I am the same way!! I’m thinking maybe I’m eating too fast and not chewing my food well enough??

    Surgery Not Working??

I eat around 600 calories a day. I do exercise, I go to the gym twice a week and also walk. I try to keep my carbs below 50g a day. I do eat reduced fat potato chips, not every day and when I do my carbs are still under the 50g. That is honestly the only thing I can think of that I eat that is “bad” for you. I stay away from sweets and sugary drinks. Maybe I just need to make an appointment with the nurse...idk. I do track everything. I use an app on my phone.
  5. Do any ladies have PCOS & are losing weight just fine? Or do you have PCOS & the weight is coming off slowly? TIA

    Carbs!

On average oe many carbs do you tend to eat in a day?

    Stage 3 foods

Maybe talk to your Dr and let them know you don’t feel ready for solids. I would listen to your body! If you need to, just stick with liquids a bit longer until your stomach is feeling better!

    3 week stall?

I’ve heard pretty much everyone mention hitting stalls. I’m on one right now....I’m hoping the scale moves soon!

    Constipation - TMI?

Before surgery I had issues going to the bathroom. I took a probiotic daily and that seemed to help. 3 weeks post-op & still having issues trying to going #2. I was given the ok to take my probiotic, doesn’t seem to help. I have tried taking MiraLAX doesn’t seem to help. I have taken ex-Lax & that seems to work but makes my stomach really crampy. I have only gone twice in almost a month! ( I had to take ex-lax both times.) Anyone have any suggestions?! TIA

    Non-artificial sweetener options?!

I could not do artificial sweeteners before! I would get really nauseous & hated the taste. I purchased Stevia in the raw....I tried it today and I didn’t end up getting sick.
  12. I was told to sip & drink slowly and that’s all I could do at first. But now when I feel thirsty I can take a big drink of water! I get at least 64oz in a day. I was also a big water drinker before surgery so I’m not sure if that made a difference?? I am 3 weeks post-op, but was able to start drinking a lot about a week out.

    Something Not Addressed

My surgeon didn’t require a pre-op liquid diet or a colon prep. A colonoscopy was required, luckily though I had one a few years before so he just used my records from that one.

    Salsa?

I was told I’m not allowed to have fresh salsa. I was told I can only have salsa from a bottle?! Has anyone else been told this? If so do you know why? I keep forgetting to ask the nutritionist. thanks
  15. So I have PCOS & I started birth control pills pre-op since I was advised to wait 18 months after surgery before trying to get pregnant. Anyways since the weight loss I’ve started my cycle on my own a week ago (still bleeding) & I’m still taking the pill & supposed to start my cycle Sunday (with the pill.) Has anyone gone through this or is going through this??? My nutritionist told me it would take several months for my body to get adjusted!
  16. So I can’t stand chewable vitamins so I haven’t been taking any. I was finally told I can use the multivitamin patch. So I just got that ordered. I was told I was unable to do vitamins in pill form right now because the body doesn’t absorb them as well. Every Dr. Is different.

Ladies, PCOS, weight loss & B/C

Thanks for the response. It’s not really “heavy” it just keeps going and I’m wondering since I normally start towards the end of the month if I’m just going to continue to bleed straight through...ugh
  19. Hello, I was curious if anyone gained any weight when you started eating solids again? If you did, did you start losing weight once your body got adjusted to food again? thanks!

Is this really going to work?!?!

Thank you so much for responding!!! It’s nice to know I’m not alone. You’ve done an amazing job!! Hope to be where you’re at....eventually lol.
  21. Hello! I recently had surgery 1/2/2018. I’m worried this surgery isn’t going to work! I feel like I’m not going to change (I can’t picture myself weighing less.) I feel like I’m going to always look heavy, that no more of the weight is going to come off and that I’m not going to be able to change my eating habits. I am signed up for mental health behavioral classes, but not until March. I know a lot of the weight loss process is mental as well as diet & exercise. That being said I feel like I’m already struggling just 6 days post op!!! I’m on the full liquid diet right now and I can’t even seem to do that. I cannot get my protein shakes or vitamins in, I think they both taste horrible! I try to drink as much protein as I can but only end up drinking a few sips and only 1-2 vitamins (if I’m lucky!) I have ordered a different protein drink to try, it should arrive tomorrow. So I have been having some blended up soup, probably a few tablespoons throughout the day...ugh. I feel like I’m hungry....am I really?? Or is it all just mental??? I go to my first post-op visit Wednesday & will bring my concerns up then. I just wanted to know if anyone else has gone through this??? Any advice?? I feel like I’m failing!!!!

for fun! what was your 'last meal'?

I didn’t really have any pre-op diet...was just told that my last solid meal would be 2 days before surgery. So 3 days before my family & I went to a local Mexican restaurant. Chips, salsa, nachos! I had pork carnitas with beans & rice with flour tortillas..,,so yummy!! Reading everyone’s comments is making me hungry lol 🤤

    5 Day post op

I went to my primary Dr and spoke about weight loss. I was referred to a surgeron’s office. They gave me a call when they received the referral and handled everything! They schedule my appointments, let me know everything I would need to do throughout the the process and if I was missing something they let me know right away so I could get the paperwork done! Good luck with the process! Just remember it takes about six months.

    Why do I feel hungry??

I’ve been struggling with the same thing!! I’m just trying to take it one day at a time....eventually it has to get better.
