    I'm here, I'm here!
When I initially started the process three years ago (this week, actually), I was at 416. Lost some, gained some, then switched programs, started my new program, gained some more at first (I wasn't the best at eating on-plan pre-op) and had my highest weight at 427.4 in January. Surgery weight was 413. Down to 354 now, 13 weeks post-op.

Maybe get some zero-calorie, sugar-free flavor syrups (such as Torani) to flavor it up so it's not just plain milk? Or the flavor drops (like Crystal Light) that are specifically made for milk -- I think Johnny Moo and Milk Magic are two brands. They're also zero-calorie and sugar-free and come in a lot of flavors.

I went from being someone who was hot all the time pre-surgery to someone who freezes constantly now that I'm down ~100 pounds. It turns out that for me there is a fine line between "comfortable" and "ice cube" and that line is about 73 degrees.
I've been so cold this winter that I bought a scarf for the first time in years, and between my birthday and Christmas (four days apart), I was given a sweater for work (where I use a space heater every day) and not one, not two, but THREE electric blankets. One for my bed, one for the living room, and one that plugs into the cigarette lighter in the car.

I second the recommendations for Hint and Propel; I also have become quite fond of the Lipton diet green teas in the mixed berry and citrus flavors (there are others, but I haven't tried them).

14 weeks out from surgery and I'm 75 pounds down from the first day of the liquid diet, which I started about 4 months ago. I've gone from 358 to 283 and, if I include the pre-op diet, I'm losing about 18-19 pounds per month on average which I'm very happy with. July was sort of meh for weight loss, not exactly sure of the stats but I know I stalled for awhile in the low 300's. August has been better, I've lost the last 10-15 pounds pretty rapidly here in the last two to three weeks.
I saw my surgeon last Friday for my three month follow-up and she was really happy with my weight loss. We discussed "goal weight" sort of, I said I'd like to be normal BMI but would settle for 29.9 BMI. She said it might be more realistic to be around 30-31 BMI. So that puts my "goal" range from 164 (24.9 BMI) to 210 (31.9 BMI). I think I will set my goal as 29.9 BMI which is 196 pounds... so basically anything under 200 will be good for me. Although I doubt I will keep losing 20 lbs a month, it's crazy to think that I could, hypothetically, be to that 196 pound goal in 4-5 months!
I discussed my issues with getting sick with both the surgeon and the dietitian and they suggested avoiding any foods that I know for sure are irritating me - the dietitian assured me again that my tendency/desire to eat more carbs than most bariatric patients is totally fine and that she encourages the whole wheat toast, cereals, fruit, brown rice, etc. for health reasons (and especially if that's what I'm able to tolerate vs. beef and chicken). She also recommended that I refocus on chewing really well and honestly since trying to take that advice I think that was the problem all along - going too fast because I wasn't chewing enough. In the last week since seeing her I've only felt ill a couple times and they were mild, not as bad as the intense nausea and sometimes heaving/vomiting I had been getting. Yay for eating with proper bariatric etiquette!

It is tough starting out at a higher weight mentally. My high weight was 389. My consult weight was 385. My surgery weight was 369. Now I’m down to 244, two weeks shy of my 9 month post op date. Just remember these surgeries were first invented for morbidly obese patients like us, you will succeed it just takes a bit longer.
I started out at a 28 and a 3-4xl myself and am in a 18 and a xl in tops. You won’t need to get to goal to feel a huge difference in how you feel!
    Good luck!

I'm so happy this thread exists. I've been lurking around different forums and have felt a little discouraged that my HW is 416 when others are in the 200s. I'll be 29 in October and though I feel I should've started this journey earlier, I know there's a season for everything and I wouldn't have been emotionally ready back then. I'm in 26/28/4X clothing sizes and I refuse to buy more clothing until I lose weight. I have jeans ranging in size from 18-26 that I'll use to measure my progress in addition to the scale. My final, ultimate goal weight is 150 and it seems SO daunting since I still weigh over 400 lbs. I already know that if/when I get to Onderland I'm going to cry. I'm in the early stages of the process (psych and 2nd nut appointment are in September and still have to get medical clearance from my PCP and some other testing. I'm low-key freaking out about the upper endoscopy and gallbladder ultrasound) and haven't seen any loss yet but I'm hopeful. Y'all are such an inspiration!

My program requires you to stay in the hospital for a few days, so I don't know how it goes with outpatient surgeries.

That'll depend partly on how much you gain in fluids from the surgery (for me, I gained at least seven pounds between my weigh-in at home the morning of surgery and the weigh-in my first morning home the day after I got out of the hospital). With a surgery weight of 413, it took me about 12 days to get down to 393.

As of today, I am six months post-op from gastric bypass. In that time, I have gone from a size 34/5X to a 24/3X and lost 75.4 pounds (89.8 since Jan. 2). That is 18.3 percent of my body weight since surgery and 21.7 since January. My BMI has gone from 75.7 to 59.8. I have lost 34.2 percent of the weight I would like to lose and am averaging a loss of .4 pounds per day; that is with a stall of about a month (recently ended) when I hovered within a range of about 4 pounds. As of today, I am at the lowest weight I have been since December 2007.
Hair loss started in earnest right at the three-month mark and has now slowed considerably (I don’t expect it will ever stop completely, as I’ve always been a shedder) but regrowth has not yet begun. I've been taking hair/skin/nail Vitamins and recently started taking flaxseed oil; I've also been using shampoos/conditioners with Biotin and collagen, and drastically reduced how much dandruff Shampoo I was using (which I'm sure wasn't helping anything, including my hair color). I'm hoping it will resolve itself. I've also stopped putting my hair in ponytails unless it's necessary (that was how my hair initially started thinning, long before surgery -- I wore tight ponytails ALL THE TIME for many years, and my once-thick hair is no longer).
I'm averaging about 1,000 calories per day, up to a cup at a time depending on the food (both are in accordance with where my program says I should be), and easily surpassing the minimum of 48 ounces of Fluid and 60 grams of Protein per day (usually at least 64 ounces and 70 grams, which includes one 11-ounce, 30-gram Premier Protein every morning). Haven't had too much trouble with food, though I do still slime occasionally. I finally am able to eat Mexican food without the spices bothering my stomach (not the heat, because I don't like spicy food, but the actual spices -- I think cumin was the main culprit).
Just had my six-month lab work done, and everything was great except for my Vitamin D, so I'm on a megadose for 12 weeks to get that boosted up to where it needs to be.
