Struggles with Staying on Track with Eating before Surgery Scheduled
I think it is, right now I've hit a snafu,in my own weight, loss journey, strongly tempted to just eat what I want. But I don't want to endanger the weight loss I have made, maybe to someone else it doesn't look like much but it and the surgery do matter to me. Eat as healthy and low simple carbs as you can, I know a McDonald's Big Mac is so easy to grab, but bad for you on so many fronts. I don't eat lunch like I should, just a small breakfast like rolled oats with skim milk in the morning, try to make my evening one contain protein and vegetables, maybe a small green salad on the side. Sounds good doesn't it? Well my body has decided its in starvation mode and has decided to slow my metabolism down when I need it to shift into overdrive. See, I don't have all the answers straight either. But keep trying, if its only a pound or 2 they won't beat you up, go over your log with them. Honestly they do want you to succeed. They have seen a lot in the business and may know the best or at least better way. You have a cheerleader, me, in this journey, okay? Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Answer my concerns please
I'm consoling as if I were your family member, another aunt or something, okay? Get in touch with Bill Yanez at BariatricPal MX, he may see you on here and get in touch with you. In the meantime I'll scroll around and see if I can find his #, all I remember off the top of my head is it is a Area code 619 #. Even if you don't go with his program, which all indications show the best, he d be able to give advice. Shoot,i would go there myself if I had the money for private pay. Dr Illian is phenomenal. It's very close to San Diego, they come pick you up etc. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Body image
Pray God my day to feel that way, comes soon. I'm still stuck in. Pre Surg-ville where the qualms and whim-whaas live. I long to be emancipated and see the Surgery Room lights shining like a beacon for me. I am currently stuck in a snafu and in a holding pattern until Tuesday when the Bariatric Gods come down with a ruling. All good thoughts gratefully appreciated. Out With the Old--In With the New!
Okay Fluffy did you lick, the ribeye juice off your fingers or merely sniff hard? I am so proud of you for staying the course. A lesser woman might have given up by now. I'm having an arthritis flare today. Years ago I sustained an avulsion fracture of my left tib-fib, they should have gone into the ankle and stabilized it but they didn't, many reasons but the bottom line, I fell between the cracks of a hospital system. By the time department#1 found out department#2 hadn't done anything the best surgical window had closed. Now I reap the detriments of it all, I'm bone on bone and worse, even if I drug myself to an orthopedic worth his salt they would have to rebreak it or saw it apart to try fixing it. And you and i know the only surgery I truly desire, don't we? So I'll brace up and try to limp around, and yes this is the same limb with lymphedema. Some people think I lack commitment, shoot,it takes commitment just to get up,out of my flippin' bed. I've got to pay a bill today, TK and I argueing about it, we're getting short on money, he says let it ride, this is one if I try will loose a whole can of nasty worms. Before the end of the month I may resort to selling something, like an extra TV. Ain't life just fun? Good luck with Ms Surgeon, every day and in every way you're closer to THE DAY. You can make it baby[emoji7] hugs to you. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Am so tired of people who ask every ten minutes why they're not losing weight
You can hate the sin but love and forgive the sinner. Original poster was talking about types, not reviling Susie Smith, Sam Jones or even Hector J. Ramirez. This is the Rant Room where we vent, and then hopefully move on. This poster has been of help,to me in the past and I hope she will continue to be in the future. Nuff said? I'm torn. Gastric or Sleeve?
Might also depend on your age and the amount of stomach scarring your band left. I would guess the sleeve would be it based,on what you said. But that will be up to you and your surgeon. If I were your surgeon and of course I'm not, I would go,in with the plan to do a sleeve unless I would have to convert to some sort of bypass. I myself will be a Rn Y as it will match my needs better. It will, truly be up to the 2 of you, study up on both procedures, watch them both on You Tube, talk,it out with your surgeon, both are good surgeries. Each has their limitations but you truly want what is best for you and your future life. Good, luck with your decision. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Home from the Hospital - Tips for You!
If it were me, I'd get out half way home, take a rest stop and walk around. Failing that while sitting, I'd do ankle pumps, move your toes up and down to prevent blood clots. I won't have a 2 hour trip home, but my own will be at least an l hour. Be sure to,wear your TED or compression stockings. Best wishes. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Valentine's Day Reset
Tomkitten and I just had our dinner, I tried to restrain my portion size, ate mostly my salad. I'm still pre surg but have lost enough to not jeopardise the small losses I've achieved. Very quiet evening but we like it that way. Shed a small tear, remembering my late husband and Tomkitten's daddy. We spent 44 Valentine's Days together.[emoji197][emoji307] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Bypass/Sleeve and First Classes Questions
Astrocat you have all your new Bariatric Pals here, we are good at helping with nerves. You've made a good decision to seek WLS, your little guy is going to be proud of his mommy even if he is too small to say so. You'll be around to watch him grow, soon he'll be big enough for Little League, then comes Colt Football and before you know it "Mom can I have the keys to the car?" and you'll be healthy enough to see it all. Good luck,to you and your Mom both, I think it would be neat if you could do this together. Any questions, just ask. If i don't have the answer, one of our veterans will. Many are still active and they are an encyclopedia of knowledge. I've learned so much from them myself. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
