    Really stressed :(

5 years, that seems excessive, I only had to have 1 and my PCP was acceptable. Was glad cause he was gung Ho about it in the first place and he's still super supportive. A little curious background: there are 3 main Bariatric programs in Columbus(where I'm going) my PCP graduated from Ohio State, did his residency at Riverside Methodist but I'm going where he recommended-Mount Carmel. Amber my Nurse Facilitator and I have a little joke " Go to OSU and they'll kick you around like a football; come to Mount Carmel and we'll pray with You", they have been great. Like you I once had United, had most of my 6 months prerequirements done and my job was terminated so had to start over again with different coverage. I have BMI of 45, sleep apnea, GERD have had arthritis since 25 so it's pretty bad, 2 knee replacements and I'm 72(yeah that's right) and will be having an RnY. Just finished all my pre requisite so waiting on a call-back from the surgeon's office for pretesting like blood work etc and a surgery date. If they are booking like usual it could be early to Mid March, yeah I'd like it sooner but they might not have a sooner slot. All prayers and good thoughts cheerfully accepted! Keep me updated on your journey, okay? Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. I had the opposite type problem, I've always been 5ft11inches my entire life, when my surgeon's office measured me I'm now 5ft8in, either I'm settling with old age,my discs are dehydrating or my vertebrae are scrunching down like a salmon. Maybe my weight is giving me build like an Egyptian pyramid. Looking forward to the changes surgery will bring. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Wacky Weight?

Do you still have your monthly visitor? Could be that's all it is, looks to me like you're crossing all the t's, dotting all the i's so it is odd. Just keeping doing what you're doing and i think you'll be fine and dandy. Keep moving toward the big prize of RnY, I'll be joining you,on the same journey. 6. Welcome Audrey- yes we're all here to give you love and support. We are on a journey towards better health, as you probably see from my previous post I'm old enough to be your grandmother or worse but honey I'm in it to win it just like all the rest. There are a lot of "veterans" that are still active on Bariatric Pal, they've been there and are a great source of practical experience and information. So if you have any questions, just ask, okay? 7. WLS4ME33 and the rest: I've got great news, finished all my pre requirements, called my Bariatric Facilitator Amber today, she emailed the surgeon's office, haven't heard back but with as far out as they schedule Early to Mid -March for my RnY. Why RnY? I have definite GERD, a BMI of 45, sleep apnea and I'm 72(yeah you read that right!) but want to have a healthy improvement to the quality of my life. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired, have fought the weight wars and the weight always won. Now is my chance and I'm gonna take it. Join me on this journey friends. So nervous!

You will be fine, all the post Rnyers have told me it wasn't as bad as the dreading they did before. I'm still pre surg myself but that's what I'll be having probably within the next 6 weeks. Just finished my pre requirement yesterday, let my Bariatric Facilitator know, isn't that a fancy term? and she told me to expect a call-back from the surgeon's office to let me know scheduling for pre op blood work etc. I live nearly 50 miles away from the hospital so will have to do everything in 1 day. My local hospital just recently started doing limited Bariatric but they don't do anyone with a BMI over 40 or RnY so I have to go to Columbus, our state capital. Don't be scared, it's the Gold Standard of Bariatric surgery, performed often and a lot safer than many other major surgeries. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Surgery likely canceled

It will be okay Nancy I meant you for the last post instead of Jaz, I'm a little dyslexic when it comes to texting and I'm getting sleepy but I do believe you'll get your surgery. Get some rest. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Surgery likely canceled

@jazmaniaRnY I'm going to say prayers that you'll be okay, worse case scenario it's good you found out now instead of while you were on the table, but like the others said it may still be okay and your surgery won't be off. Try to get some rest (the momma in me surfacing) and tomorrow will dawn a better day. You haven't come this far without a good reason and your day may still be coming. Sending my love, child. 12. Since you're allergic to adhesives (i am too) they may staple or suture you instead, that's what they did with my knees, staples on my right one in 2014 and sutures on my left in February 2016. As long as your surgeon knows I'm sure you'll be okay. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Urgent.. Help with BCBS

Wow I'm glad I don't have BCBS, in my area it's Anthem BCBS but from all the sorrow it's giving people I am glad I have something else. Reminds me of the old joke about life insurance-you are betting you need it, the insurance carrier is betting you don't, if you win the argument you're dead and can't enjoy your victory. 17. Fluffy Chix et all: Just finished my last pre requirement yesterday, just got off the phone with my Nurse Facilitator, updated her, she faxed the surgeon's office and when I hear back from them I should have a date. I'm thinking Early to Mid March, would God it was sooner! I can hardly believe it's finally gonna happen. Send prayers, good wishes, light candles, whatever it takes.
