  2. So March the 6th will be your day? That's my oldest granddaughters birthday, she'll be 22. Took me a second to do the arithmetic. Excitement and apprehension go hand in hand. No matter how hard you, prepare you're going into uncharted territory. I'm sure you have a good doctor and you'll be fine. We'll be praying for you. Please let us know how things go for you --we groove on successful stories. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

And mine tonight? To find another surgeon, receive a firm schedule date and receive my RnY before my last nerve snaps. But I will mention your hair Tealael, that way my own cute red pixie won't turn into looking like the Rock or Bruce Willis. Oy vey that would be very very bad. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    April/May 2018 Sleevers!!?

Junuu. Honey I'm 72 years old, 323lbs and still anxious to have my surgery completed. A little nervousness is fine, you wouldn't be human if you didn't feel that way facing the unknown. How can I help you feel better? What part of it all are you most worried about? I haven't had this one, but I've had several surgeries and c encountered many things in my life. I'd like to think I'm a pretty wise person, so if I can help just ask okay? Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

You're gonna do just fine day after tomorrow. Rest and be calm tonight. When it's time, lie peacefully and go to sleep, when you wake you may be sore maybe not. One person said it just felt like they had done,2000 situps. I personally don't think, its gonna be worse than afterpains when you've just had a baby. I'll let you know what I felt when mine comes, but of course after Thursday you'll know yourself and you'll tell me. I had pancreatitis in 2015, ain't nothing can touch that pain. When they got,me up to walk a hour after knee replacement, it didn't hold a candle to that. You're going to do the traditional walk walk walk and sip sip sip and soon you'll be back, home and starting on a new healthier and fitter life. And I'm so excited for, you. God Bless. RN twelve hour shifts

I agree with Tealael. You are a caring person in a very caring profession. I was a STNA for 20+ years, very nearly became a LPN. Take some time to take care of you first. You yourself are very important also. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    March-April Rny-ers

I could be your bariatric god-granny I also have fibromyalgia, Migraines, lymphedema in both legs, struggling with mild depression-- a good portion is eating myself up emotionally about not getting surgery, so anxiety &, used to have panic attacks. Otherwise I'm more than healthy, enough for surgery-- PCP says I'm a 40-45 year old trapped in a 72 year old shell. Low BP, low cholesterol, good heart, passable lungs and although I am an adult child of 2 diabetics ,no diabetes. He admits my cholesterol is lower than his and he's maybe mid40s.I have 2 plastic shoeboxes of pills, but right now I'm taking antibiotic for sinusitis, Wellbutrin, Ditropan , Zyrtec and a over50 Multivitamin. That's all currently. The Wellbutrin is to keep my anxious depression down prior to surgery, not a real high dosage. I'm not suicidal, more like I don't care to live. Does that make sense?, but do myself in? Nope I feel some days like I'd even screw that up. Low self esteem can come calling.for me. I try to reach out to others on Bariatric Pal and It helps me from crawling back into my safe turtle shell of isolation. Yeah ever this old cowgirl gets the blues. Aetna and BMI at 40

BGMOM12 aetna- thank God they didn't forget ya! Congratulations on your date, when is it so we can pray for a smooth surgery.?? Oh I'm so happy, always happy when somebody gets scheduled. Takes my mind off my own bumpy road to RnY. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. Well when do YOU think you'll be visiting the Slice and,Dice parlor? Commonly known as the operating room. I'm guessing March 14-20 but it's obvious in my own life I'm p*** poor about predictions. Look at my wavy road to,my RnY, I may take a bowie knife, a lighted makeup mirror and some 30 test fishing line and perform my,own surgery. Oh yeah I've got John's (the late lamented) big Swingline stapler in the bedroom next to the computer. Yeah I've got a terabyte+ computer. Tomkitten has operating custody, he says I keyboard too rough. Put his hands on his hips and proclaimed"Mom Its not an old Underwood Upright!" He wants to do it fine, at least I don't get into trouble, like Proud Grammy. Alex Brecher, Spectrum and Ms P.G. are going to end up,in a 3way conference call one of these days, So I use my smartphone for Bariatric Pal.l am but a simple soul when it comes to the internet. Out With the Old--In With the New!

I just saw them I never picked up them up to read the label, but since I'm a reforming foodaholic I'd better. Weird I really don't crave sweet things anymore, well in a way it's good but a lot of things seemed to change in me when the gastritis hit. About as sweet as I want to go willingly? A banana, even waterpacked canned fruit can seem sweet. Maybe my tummy is in training for Post surg? Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    March-April Rny-ers

I'm kinda a similar size, one difference I've drug this tired body for 72 years. Now I've,had my " come to Jesus" moment last fall when my PCP gave me a diet drug and instead of losing weight I gained 30lbs. That was a high of 355, i enrolled in a bariatric program, did all the prerequirements they or my insurances asked for. Waited and waited to be given a surgery date. Imagine my shock when I was informed a committee had met and none of the surgeons in the practice wished to perform my surgery. So I will be transferring to one,of the othe other 2 programs in Center of Excellence accreditated hospitals in Columbus Ohio. I attend a seminar at #1 on March 9th, if I feel it doesn't fulfill my plans I will attend one at#2 the, morning of March 10th. This is backwards of the way things occur, I'm beginning,to think I'm more special than I thought. I am planning a RnY as I have both sleep apnea and GERD, I have lowered my weight to 323 from last fall but haven't been able to lose more. I am 5ft8in, have had arthritis since i was 25 and have had 2 knee replacements. I really want and feel I need this surgery or I'd just give up at this point. Are you anywhere near Kakaskia? I remember from history that was Illinois first capital. Anyway I am very glad to know you and I hope we will become friends. If you have any questions please ask, I've done a lot of research on WLS and lived a good long time. I think by now I can talk on most any subject. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Calling March Sleevers

Well luv, you know you know better but you are human. Resolve to yourself I did it,but i'm not going to do it again. You are so close to your date, please don't imperil it now. Maybe you can call it a salty chip funeral? You want to go forward, not slide back into bad bad habits. Come on strengthen that resolve, stand tall and go to surgery. It will be worth the sacrifice. Rah rah ain't she great? Its our Kimbers#18. A big cheer as she embarks on her journey to surgery land where her surgeon the Wizard of Weigh Loss will perform magic with his hands. Wiggly sqiggly bippity bo, a hour and a half or so and she is through. Taking a nap but she soon will rise, open up her eyes and exercise. Walk walk sip sip that is our song Walking around the unit all day long. Gaining strength, to home she'll return Getting her rest so she won't crash and burn. Kimbers will show us all the victory's won.And now my friends my poem is done. Best wishes from[emoji197] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    my mistake

  18. Guess what, I'm a trifle sick and congested, went to PCP yesterday, he told me to take a temporary CPAP holiday as it was aggravating my sinuses temporarily. I could not sleep, finally drifted off at 4AM back up at 6:30 to tinkle. So I spent most most of the night on my tablet or lurking and texting on Bariatric Pal. my mistake

Kathy you know the joke about the Mountain Dew Monkey? Got this from Ms Fluffy so it's good. I'm not sure of exact wording so this may be a slight paraphrase." If anyone hurts or disrespects you I'll be all over them like a spider monkey hopped up on Mountain Dew" And Danke? German for Thanks. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

What's Your Goal For The Week?

Laurileet -'and tell each and every one of them how much you loved them . I know she was probably before your time, but have you heard of Erma Bombeck? I remember her cause lets face it, I'm old as dirt! At any rate she tells the story of a youngish mother who died. She left each of of her sons a note. telling each how much she loved them and how he was her favorite. Very touching, I of course cried. At the end of the story 2 ladies are talking At the funeral. One turns to the other and remarks" it's a shame about JoAnn, she didn't leave those boys anything" Makes you think, then hold everyone you [emoji180] a little tighter. At the end, love is all we have. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
