All surgeries have some sort of risk associated with it. If you're too worried, I think its a good thing to take a step back, and try a different approach. You can always revisit surgery if you want. Its YOUR choice. Its YOUR body. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise. You know what's best for you! Good luck!

I’ve been taking Multivitamins and biotene melts, hoping to curb any Hair loss. That’s my biggest fear!

That does sound like a lot! Bless your heart!

Can’t wait to see your results ️
Me too! Can’t wait to see everybody’s! I feel a little guilty taking off extra for work, but I figure it can’t hurt! I’m easing back into it!

Can’t wait til purée!
It’s not all it’s cracked up to be! Lol! I looked forward to that scrambled egg SO much! It was disappointing. I puked up a string cheese yesterday. Idk if I didn’t chew it enough, or what. They have been going down alright. I’m sticking the super puréed food today. I had a Protein Shake for Breakfast and soupy mashed potatoes for lunch. I’m making it - slowly, though!

I just have always heard you don’t really feel hunger in the first year ....
Im on day 7, too, and I’ve definitely felt hungry and had my stomach growling. I started puréed food today. It’s not going down well - feels like a punch in the stomach! 😕

I have had non stop diarrhea since two days after I came home from the hospital. I had been constipated for 9 days and thought I'd have a really tough time the first time my bowels moved, but boy was I wrong. I just had the urge to go and bam! It was a case of the squirts that hasn't stopped now for three days....and I'm only on Clear Liquids and 6 ounces of Protein Drink.
Is this normal??
Are we allowed to take Immodium?
I’ve been the same. I took one Imodium the first day I had the runs. Then I switched to kaopectate liquid bc it went down easier. Good luck!

It’s been rough for than I expected. I came home today, three nights in the hospital. For me, and for my roommate who have the same procedures, it was intense nausea slowing us down. We both had large hiatal hernia repairs as well as the gastric bypass. Today feels a lot better. But I don’t imagine I’m going to be feeling anything like normal until towards the end of the week.
How about you?
I had mine the same day as you. Awful nausea for about 48 hours after. Maybe the anesthesia? I’m doing pretty good. Staying sedentary and taking about 1/2 or a Norco 2x a day.

The only day I didn’t take my Effexor was the day of surgery. I only took my lisinopril (BP.) the next day the nurse in the hospital brought it to me, and I’ve taken it since with no worries. Good luck!

Well I’m a teacher so standing up will definitely not be a problem lol. I have my nausea meds, I’m just worried about them making me tired and yes I plan to have all my meals ready to go, so I don’t mess anything up.
Me too! Planning on going back Jan. 9 when the kids start back. That’ll be 12 Days post_op for me.

Me too! When the said “gas,” I just assumed the other end. 🤷🏼♀️ I’m burping a lot!

After a certain amount, I get this sharp pain and I’m not sure if it’s gas or what. I also had my first stool today after a week or so with the help of some milk of magnesia. I am so ready to progress to puréed food this Thursday you have no idea
If I drink too much or too fast, it hits me in the gut like a ton of bricks! Try to get down what you can.

You have no clue how much your response made me feel better! I thought I was the only one not being able to eat much.
Everyone is different. I’m taking my time and trying to figure out what my body needs. No rush!

I’m only on day 3 post op. I still have incisional pain. But not enough to use the narcos I was given. I tried eating Jello a couple minutes ago and my tummy went into a frenzy. Too soon I guess.
Same as me. Three days out. I tried half a cup of jello and my tummy was NOT having it. Later on, I had some sugar free pudding that went down ok. Finally took a BM. (TMI, it was kinda funny. I would expect that after having nothing but liquids for a week.) Incision pain is better. Nausea is almost gone. I’ve been walking around and doing really well on my liquids and Proteins.

I had my surgery on dec. 28 as well. I’ve been in a good amount of pain. Been taking my Norco and phenegan every 4 hours. I have the stabbing under my right breast. My doctor said that suture would hurt the mist bc that’s where he had to pull my stomach. Maybe the same with you. Speedy recovery!

I got mine yesterday, too. I got nauseous after drinking some Gatorade. I think I drank too much. Try smaller sips, maybe?

Got my sleeve yesterday. Had a rough night with a lot of pain and nausea. Not a lot of gas pains like I thought I’d have, but I am burping a lot. My nurse has been great with bringing me pain/nausea meds. How’s everyone else doing?

When should I expect to start seeing some real weight loss? I'm down 15 lbs. total, but that's including what I lost before surgery on liquid diet. I KNOW I'm not supposed to weigh until 2 weeks out, and I'm 8 days, but I couldn't help myself. The scale is staring at me every time I go into the bathroom! Hahah!
