    Nosy coworkers

I’m a teacher and they’re nosy as f! I told my friends, but other than that, I just didn’t tell them beforehand. I don’t really care if anybody knows. Tell them it’s none of their damn business! (Lol! I wish, but know you’re not really gonna say that!)

    Pureed Food Stage

Ok, I was sleeved on 12/28/17, and after 7 days I was allowed to go on to pureed foods. I know a lot of people are looking forward to this stage, or at least thinking about it. It may be a little fast for me, but I was told to try scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, etc. as I could tolerate them. I'm looking for tips and ideas, as well as willing to share my own. I'm doing my shake for breakfast. Scrambled eggs were disappointing. I made some deviled eggs, but those hit me hard in the stomach. Vienna sausages, apple sauce, and skim milk make up most of the "solid" food I can handle at this point. I did have some refried beans one day, and string cheese. I do want to try EggFace's Ricatta Bake, but I haven't made it to the store lately. Any ideas are appreciated.

    Late December Sleevers?

Don’t stress too much. Everybody is different.

    Late December Sleevers?

I’m keeping down most things! I just have to eat very slowly and chew chew chew chew. A few things have come back on me!

    Late December Sleevers?

Water is the only thing I can get down easily. I don’t really get hungry, but I feel my stomach gurgle when it’s about time for me to eat. I eat very little and very slowly. A few things haven’t sat well, and they came right back up.

    Maybe tmi...changes in monthly cycle?

That must be true because I know SEVERAL ladies who struggled to have a baby before surgery. After, they got pregnant quickly!

    Maybe tmi...changes in monthly cycle?

Good question. I’d love to hear the answer. I’m not far enough out to know. I do know that they took me off my bc after surgery and I had the longest, heaviest flow that I’ve ever had! Ever! It was awful!

    Multivitamin

How does it taste? I haven’t seen that around.

    Late December Sleevers?

I didn’t get a list. That was just a suggestion. I’m usually good with dairy. Not lactose intolerant or anything. That wasn’t the first string cheese that I’d eaten that I puked up. Idk what the deal was. I had some puréed chicken salad that made my tummy go crazy, too. Puréed beef veggie soup with soggy crackers was fine. It’s a learning experience.

    Too much fish?

I’m at puréed stage, too. I think 6 oz. if you’re really hungry is ok. As long as you trust your surgeon and you don’t get too full. Who knows? You may stay really full for a while. Let me know how it goes!

    Late December Sleevers?

Lol! It is a little strange, but at this point, I’d go for a spoon of ketchup if it would go down easily! Lol!

    Sore throat/mouth

I’ve heard a few people saying they’ve had thrush since their surgery. Is surgery a cause, or is it just coincidental? Awful. Sorry you’re having problems!

    What happens if you overeat?

I threw up a string cheese yesterday. I think I was already too full. I agree with the salivating mouth. Now I’m scared to eat very much at all!

What couldn't you be without now?

I was wondering about the Tespo. Especially since the vitamin cartridges are $$$!

    Clarity on "Stats"

What a GREAT question! (I’m looking forward to tacos, btw! Lol!) I didn’t have to lose beforehand. Actually, I had to gain bc I didn’t have two comorbidities. I’m only counting what I lost on my pre-op liquid week and since surgery. I kinda feel better knowing others are counting before them bc I was feeling a little like a failure. Even though I’m eight whole days out! Thanks for the good question!
  18. I just got sleeved a week ago, so I can’t tell you everything from experience. However I have TONS of sleeved friends (hello! I’m a teacher! Lol!) and I haven’t heard them complaining about being hungry. Just like everyone else, when you’re hungry eat. Just be more mindful of what’s going in there. They eat pizza and anything else. (god, I can’t wait to eat pizza and tacos!)I think moderation is key.

    Should I tell him?

Well, go ahead and tell him. What’s he gonna say? He never wants to talk to you again? Doubtful if y’all are seriously considering marriage.

    Insurance

The guy at the hospital quoted me something like $26,000 something. I’m not exactly sure because he said the number and I was SO shocked! Maybe it is, if BCBS will pay $25,000 and I had to pay around $2,000?
  22. I’m the same. My 8th day. Liquids are fine. Puréed foods have to be really thin, or they hurt!

    Multivitamin

I bought gummy multivitamins. I am NOT a gummy person. I make sure to chew VERY thoroughly. They also make dissolvable ones. Not sure if they’re any better tasting though. 😕

    Insurance

I had to pay the hospital like $2000. My BCBS covered something like $25000. The hospital wanted 40% up front.

    Late December Sleevers?

My NUT said FF String Cheese was ok. I guess bc its soft? Yeah, I know its not really pureed. I started a thread just for ideas and tips on pureed food. Maybe that'll help us all!
