Real California April reacted to Biddy zz 🏳️🌈 in Treadmill vs running outside
I started my couch25k on the treadmill, then at week 4 I had a month in Europe so ran outside - so cool, along Amsterdam canals, around the walls of Avignon, the Eiffel Tower, Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia etc etc. Stunning! Then back to the treadmill.
Now I do a 5k Parkrun most weekends, and use a treadmill for my other two runs each week.
The treadmill is physically a little easier - I guess the machine carries each stride back, so no muscles needed for propelling you forward. But mentally it is harder - I get really bored and want to quit before the 5k is up. I have started listening to podcasts which helps...

If you're used to running outside, it will probably be easier for you to run on a treadmill (no air resistance, flat "terrain."). You can use the incline to more closely match the challenge of running outdoors. You'll still get a great cardio workout by running indoors.

I shared with another bariatric patient. The floor was for people specifically recovering from stomach and intestinal surgeries.

I didnt hear any vomiting though. We were given quite a bit of anti nausea medication.

So...Im a student and just transferred. My new school has a gym where membership is included with tuition. I have a 2 hr break in between some classes and was considering restarting C25K. I LOVE running outside but i don't have time this semester.
What is the difference? Is it just as good?

I had jeggings but I guess I lost enough weight to make them just pants lol. Then again loose skin wasn't an issue when I bought them

Yes but theyre small and i wouldnt have these regrets if i didnt start eating better (which i did because of surgery.)
So not much of a regret as an "awww man!"
For example. I recently tried asparagus for the first time. It was freaking amazing! Like wow i could eat this every week for a year lol. However i cant tolerate them at all.

I used to be a chocoholic. Now it's ok at best and usually only consumed as hot cocoa.

I'm absolutely in love with salt. I wasnt into salt before.

I don't like candy as much because it's too sweet!

I was referred, it was actually my PCP who said that she wasn't equipped to interpret the Iron levels. When I discussed it with the surgeon, he agreed.

We have one opening up soon. What is it about? I mean like...what makes it different than any other gym?

To be honest I thought it was a juicing place at first

I've heard some problems with Essure in the last year, but like I said, I had the ablation (Novasure) and Essure at the same time 8 years ago. I've had zero complications since. - Your body will still produce eggs and hormones, but the two procedures have saved my life.

I see, I didn't know that about the IUD. Also, I apologize, I misunderstood your first post, I thought your flow increased since surgery.
I ended up going to see a blood specialist about my Iron levels, because my bariatric team wasn't equipped to help me level out my iron. That would be my next suggestion.

Like seriously! Pre surgery I was an avid blood donor. Now I'm constantly on the verge of needing a transfusion. I take around 90mg Iron. I cant take birth control because of liver problems. I was thinking uterine ablation or something to help lighten it. Any advice?

Good or bad I drank something I didn't recall being carbonated and vomited shortly after. So if you're gonna do it, I say at home where you're comfy just in case

I've looked up to see if any reviews state this problem but it seems to be only me! They're good...but then it separates! Like visibly. Am I doing something wrong? I'm talking about sitting for a minute or two, not like hours or anything. Wtf

    I miss Pizza!
    But in all seriousness...

Having to take Vitamins which can be expensive. I was a blood donor before surgery so I take bariatric specific vitamins with Iron in hopes to start up again. I used to only spend $15 a month on vitamins. Now it's double that.

I'm tired. I used to be up early and to bed late. Although this could be because I'm not getting any younger now that I think about it lol.

Gas sucks. I'm thinking the extra room in our natural stomach is for gas.

I took two pills plus a Vitamin daily before surgery. Now I take 5 pills and 4 vitamins a day. That takes a toll mentally. It's not forever, but hard now.

When I was 8 or so I saw someone fall off their bike and they died! Right in front of me!

So homeschool is hit or miss. I did an entire research study on it. One of the problems is the parents that are willing to participate in tests just so happen to be the parents that are educating beyond what is required. There are other HS kids that are extremely far behind as well. Like...illiterate at graduation. Most are completely oblivious about sexual health and sciences.

I'd love to HS but most of the groups here are Christian. We're very atheist so that poses a problem [emoji17]
