Mine was 12-28. I found it easy to constantly sip water/Gatorade. I kept it on me everywhere I went. The Protein was hard initially to get 60g. I am honestly still having trouble with it but it’s getting easier. I have found that i can do 4 gulps of premiere Protein Shake at a time. So I try to take 4 gulps every 2-3 hours. Then for lunch I have a yogurt. Then I start my second shake when I get home. Then for dinner I have Campbell’s Tomato Soup watered down (not much of it), and then before bed i try to finish my second shake. This seems to be a pretty good routine and is actually pretty easy to consume throughout the day.
    Hope this helps!!

I agree, at three days post-op I sip constantly and I feel like I'm still not reaching my goals. I've only gone through one Protein Shake, one cup of tea, one cup of broth, and a half bottle of Powerade zero today and it's almost time for bed. There's just no room for more.

You'll do what you can and as long as you're pushing yourself to do more, eventually you will land where you need to be. I think I did half of this yesterday.

What was the final thing that you encountered that made you say this is enough? I have had numerous.
    1. Lack of energy and disinterested in activities that used to make me extremely happy.
    2. Missing out on my son's first time at Six Flags since I couldn't buckle the seat belt on the first big roller coaster he wanted to ride and explaining to him afterwards why I couldn't go on (combination of anger at myself and wanting to cry)
    3. Not being comfortable at all flying because the seat is too small, seat belt very tight but can't put tray table down
    4. Avoiding restaurant booths with tiny seats
    5. Nickname big guy every job I've ever had by some skinny boss
    6. Custom dress shirts needed to get a collar big enough to close to wear suits to work and still very tight and uncomfortable
For me, trying three different kinds of expensive prescription weight loss pills / appetite suppressants (Contrave, Belviq, and Phentermine) only to watch the scale continue to grow over the past six months was my breaking point that I needed to do something drastic.
Thanks so much for the support,
    Jim

You’re absolutely right about the prejudices. I am convinced I have been passed over for at least two promotions during my career because I didn’t look like my bosses, I am taller, and yes bigger. All I can do is take the high road, it was their loss and they actually lost me because of it. I am fortunate to be working with a company that appreciates what’s between my ears not what’s under my suit jacket. I can’t wait for the plane seat to fit better traveling 30% of the time, just can’t wait. Best of luck to you!!

My biggest hurdle is between dinner & bed too. Sucking on SF popsicles when I want to eat is helpful for me. You can have up to six and still stay under 100 calories!

I agree with Gretsada, the Premier Protein shakes in my opinion are the best tasting ones. I buy them when they go on sale at costco or Sams, which are a great deal. I like the banana and Strawberries and Cream the best but the vanilla is pretty good too. I didn't care for the chocolate one but the others have been really good. At 30g Protein and 1 carb for 160 calories, I don't know of a better option I've found. Also, my surgeon suggested the premier shakes and bars by name for post op as well and they align nutritionally with the Bariatric Advantage pre-op shakes nutritionally. Hope this is helpful.

My VSG is scheduled on 1/8 and I have bought the two weeks of Bariatric Advantage shake mix from my surgeon but have heard the first three days are the hardest. I have been trying to sub in Premier Protein shakes this week to mentally start to prep but would love to know if any of you have advice for getting through the liquids or how you use the shake mixes so you're not starving, especially after dinner. I am concerned that I am going to fail between dinner and bed time and would love some advice from you guys. Thanks so much.

I'm using Bariatric Advantage, vanilla and banana flavors. Per my Dr., I can add 1/2 small banana or 2 tbs PB2 Peanut Butter with chocolate Protein Powder. (or 1 tbs natural peanut butter) I add 10 oz 1% milk, blend in blender, add 4 ice cubes...blend on high 1 min and its a pretty good milkshake... I'm on 3 shakes daily and a small high Protein LOW carb meal daily .... I've not yet had my meal today, as I'm stuffed from the shakes....
