I will have to see a dietitian and 2 classes on the support group and then the surgery date will be set. Sunta I have not had my surgery yet and may not for a while but I know the fear. In the end you will be happy that you did it. What kind of information should I ask my doctor prior to the surgery? what type of band, size of band ect....any suggestions, also if he does not use fluoro to make the fill does this mean that I need to find another doctor becuse he is might not be any good?

this question is for vluckey, did you have a good experience with Dr. Curry? I am getting ready for surgery with him. Have you had any complications with the band. Have you had any fills yet, in general how would you rate his service. Where are you located at if that is ok to ask. Please all the info would be greatly appreciated.

This is for everyone and anyone. I think that everything is falling into place as far as getting ready for the scheduling of the surgery and I am falling to pieces. I am worried if I will be able to accomplish what I have set out to do, that is succeeding in losing weight with the help of the band. My worries are will I be able to follow all the rules,what to eat,when to eat,how much to eat.will I over eat, how will I know if I do. If there are problems how will I know? I know that at one time or another you all have went through all the newness of the band and we have to start somewhere, but in reading all that I have read in this forum there seem to be problems I am not sure that I will recognize weather it is health related or band related. HOW WILL I KNOW...Is it that hard to stay on a so called diet with the band...don"t get me wrong I never expected it to be easy but I am worried that I will fail AGAIN...but with a lot larger bill to pay. If any one can Help me please I need some feed back....my mind is in a whirl..excited for the future but scared of failure and I need to succeed for myself FIRST as well as my husband, children and grandchildren as I want to be around for a long time:faint:

I have choosen a doctor in Cincinnati he has done many of these procedures and his office and hospital is only 45 min away from me so I will soon be on my way as soon as the ins. makes up their minds....and who knows when that will be..still waiting and its great to talk to someone in Indiana lets keep in touch with each others progress.

well what is the first weeks of fluids like before surgery, what do you eat...and after surgery what is floro used for...and how bad did it hurt???

patty103 I agree about the carring of the weight, some think at 186 you not fat enough to have this surgery but not everyone is 4'10 and have no knees to carry all this excess, I hope I have as much success as the people that replied to my questions Thank you keep in touch will let all know when the banding will be done also is there anyone that is familar with any Cincinnati Ohio doctors Dr. Trace Curry he will be doing mine or if you are located in Indiana let me know if you have had the banding

Good morning all yes i do have comorbidities and they are.... cholesterol, blood pressure. sleep apnea,three knee surgeries with osteo-arthritis and the possibiltiy if double knee replacement if I don't get this fat off..so I am very much wanting to do something to succeed..have tried so many diets that I am sick of them and after hearing from all of you I do believe it will work for me with hard work, thank you for talking to me very much enjoy hearing from you

hello Im new to this site am in the process of getting all things together with ins and the doctor may have a surgery date in March??? I am worried about erosion of the band and also how well it will work for me. I am 50yrs, wgt.186, hgt 4'10, wanting to know how fast do you really lose the weight, and what should I ask the surgon about the size of the band and any other questions that I should I ask all help is greatly appreciated
