  1. Hello everyone, I am 8 months out. I work for a doctor's office. My only real concern is that when I check my urine, there is just about everything showing up in my urine sample, so that's freaking me out. Is anyone else having this problem? Of course your urine tells how your internal organs are functioning, ie kidneys, liver, and so on. I'm very concerned and am stressing because of this. Usually when we check a patient's urine and anything out of the ordinary shows up, we send it out for further test, because it's cause for real concern. I went to my doctor, the Nurse Practitioner saw me cause my doctor was not available. She said it was because I'm not eating enough, like I'm starving myself and my body is basically eating off my organs. Does anyone have some other theories about what could be going on.

It would be helpful if you would give an idea of what you are eating, and how much exercise. You have lost an extraordinary amount of weight to this point, so based on that, I'm inclined to believe your CNP is potentially on the right track. We have a tough job, limiting calories, while getting the nutrition we need to keep our health up.

What does a typical day look like for you?

Welcome to the boards! Also, the act of eating so few calories and losing "quickly" can kick our liver and kidney's butts temporarily. Please don't stress. Easier said than done. But you know what happens with stress hormones/cortisol when you stress. That will also jack with urine readings. Maybe request your complete blood work panels along with your vitamin levels?

If your nurse practitioner works for your bariatric group, listen to her and follow her instructions precisely. If not...get a consultation with the people who did your surgery and follow their instructions precisely. Don't mess around with your health on message boards...see someone qualified and experienced with bariatric cases.
