  1. Any tips to help me on my liquid diet? I hate protein shakes but I'm doing what I have to do at this point :48_weary:

Man, I envy you that one meal a day. Even just meat and a veggie...sounds like heaven right now.

Can you have pudding? A personal favorite of mine was sugar free pudding made with skim plus fat free milk and protein powder. Effectively its the exact same thing as a protein shake except edible and more palatable..

I'd also recommend trying some RTD shakes (pre-made ones in a bottle) they cost more money but sometimes can taste better. Because once you have your surgery you'll be eating shakes everyday for months, so this is definitely the best time to find out what you can tolerate and what you can like. You don't wanna be home and in pain experimenting with drinks

I just finished 2 weeks of all liquids. 1 week pre-op and then 1 week post-op. I'm not a big fan of sweets, so protein drinks are rough for me. Here's what I did to make it through:

-I bought an unflavored pea protein supplement (all within guidelines) and added it to my broth. It makes the broth sort of creamy and you have to stir it continually while you drink it, but it's a good alternative to sweet protein drinks. Celebrate Vitamins make a chicken soup and tomato soup protein that are pretty decent.

-I bought some PB2 powder to add to vanilla/chocolate/caramel premade shakes. The PB cuts some of the sweetness and just made the drinks more palatable to me.

-I also grabbed some instant decaf coffee crystals. Those helped me make some new flavors and pulled out some sweetness. Caffeine is a no-no so the decaf instant is perfect.

I hope this helps. Good luck- it's totally worth it!
