  1. Had surgery on 12th Jan and weighed 262 that day... Today this happened!!! I'm so happy!! Excuse the feet...

    Normal BMI!

    Brilliant!!! Xx
  3. That's a great way to look at @allwet! I'm going to try to adopt that perspective. I'm averaging 2-3 lb per week at the moment but I'm sure it'll start slowing more in the near future. As long as the scale is travelling in the right direction, I'm happy xx

Aw that's great news!! So glad you've got to the light at the end of the tunnel. Stalls are the worst! Xx

    January bypass buddies??

Well done guys and gals!! I'm weighing in at 199 today 😀 chuffed to bits! Phenomenal loss @Marc76! Congratulations @Karen Tucker! Sorry you're stalling @soccerkaty - the scales still heading in the right direction, no matter what hun. Could you be losing inches instead or are you a little hormonal? I retain water more when it's that time of the month.xxx
  9. So I had a NSV today..... on the plane back to the UK from my holiday to Lanzarote, I got to fasten my seat belt easily AND tighten it up by at least 8". I always just automatically set it to the longest it'll go and squeeze it shut, sitting uncomfortably until we're allowed to take it off. Well, not anymore! Yipeeee!

Wednesday weigh in time.... current weight is now 206lb. That's about 46% of my excess weight off since 12th Jan ☺ xx

    Poll: What is your goal?

I'm 5ft 3in. Heaviest weight was 292lb. I was 262 on surgery day on January 12th. Today I'm at 208. My goal is 140lb as it's the heaviest i can weigh with a healthy BMI. My goal may change further into my journey. So far my NSVs have been things like tightening up my belt on a plane, being able to rest my head on my knees, being able to shop in something other than the plus size section... I can't wait to see what else the future has in store. ☺
  12. Well if you keep up good choices like this, you'll be kissing those 3s goodbye forever in no time xx
  13. Good on you @Mattymatt x

    Suggestion???

I found white fish like cod with a squeeze of lemon instead of sauce with a side of salad or cooked veg went down well and I felt satisfied x
  15. Pleased you're recuperating well! The gas is a biatch. Keep walking and sipping and you'll do fab xx
  16. I get real bad cravings too but I try to find a healthy substitute eg. Craving baked camembert - make a toastie with 1oz low fat cheese and using cauliflower instead of bread. If I fancy chocolate I have one square of 90% chocolate instead of the tonne of crap quality stuff I used to have. Maybe have low fat cream cheese with some celery? Xx

    Any medical lab technologists?

I may look into maryland... at least for a holiday. Definitely considering a big move over the water x

Wednesday weigh-in time again folks.... today I'm at 210 ☺ So glad I managed to lose with a leaving party, house move and holiday. Could never have done that preop x
  20. My post op diet was 1 day water, 2 weeks fluids, 2 weeks puréed food (2-4 teaspoons each sitting) 2 weeks soft foods then 2 weeks harder foods before starting a normal healthy diet. That's 8 weeks before eating without major restrictions. I personally still haven't tried bread, chips, crisps, rice, pasta or potatoes and I'm 3 months out. I struggled to eat a few teaspoons at 3-4 weeks and I do find it gobsmacking the OP is able to eat such volume. The choices are poor. Fear alone was enough to put me off. I think appointments with a dietician and therapist are required here.
  21. Does anyone have any experience of vitamin patches? I'm struggling to believe their efficacy as some of the vitamins have very large molecular structures. As skin as inherently non-permeable, I don't see how they can enter through a patch on the skin. I may be totally wrong on this. I'd like to hear what you guys think or have found?
  22. I've just moved house so now I finally have a costco near me! Yay! Didn't know they did them. ☺ I will definitely check it out (when I've finished unpacking) x
  23. I've seen a lot of Americans talking about premier protein. Im in the UK so I haven't found it here. I've been using "PhD diet whey" and "For goodness shakes". X
