Food Detox
Hahaha I went through that phase about then - it’s totally normal! I had kfc cravings where I just wanted to lick the coating of some fried chicken... oh it’s embarrassing but definitely the mental aspect of this surgery is a huge part. Sleeved: 2/11/2017 SW: 209lbs/95kgs

FULL LIQUID DIET POST-OP HELP!!!!!!!!
This is such a great thread - I’m day 6 and I feel the same as you all and was wondering what and how much everyone is eating. My soups have been broths mainly, but I’ve been also eating optifast soups. Not sure if you have it in the US but they do shakes and soups and it’s what we have to stay on for the 2 weeks pre-op here. I just think their soups may be more nutritious than just broth. Jelly was nice too. I can’t wait to get onto cream soups which I will start next week. Sleeved: 2/11/2017 SW: 209lbs/95kgs

Is there something wrong?
I’m 6 days out, but yesterday I ate more than I could since surgery. I had a much of mug of broth, some jelly during the day, about 5 spoonfuls, and also tea and a bit of broth during the day. The soup I ate for dinner was the first time I finished a mug in one sitting. I’m not sure if you have mugs so I’ll attach a pic. It seems like a lot but there was no discomfort. Would any of you eat that much at this stage? I was so hungry yesterday and felt so weak, the food made me feel better. Sleeved: 2/11/2017 SW: 209lbs/95kgs

Gaining weight back
I agree - DreamingSmall you come across as really rude in every single post. I don’t know if you mean it but it’s very unhelpful and often really hurtful. You should watch the way you say things to people on here. Sleeved: 2/11/2017 SW: 209lbs/95kgs

Post op. Let's get it!!
Hi there - you look great! I was feeling ok, but I’m day 5 now and I’ve woken up feeling sick due to to hunger. I know it’s a hunger kind of pain... or not eating enough. Did you go through this stage? Will it pass soon? Thanks. Sleeved: 2/11/2017 SW: 209lbs/95kgs

Tomorrow is my day!
It’s a bit rude when people do that knowing what we’re going through. I mean, not the kids because they’re kids, but before my surgery I was fasting as everyone was and someone that was support for another sleever came into the waiting room with all of this food eating it in front of us. I was getting really annoyed. And after surgery, the women next to me that just got sleeved had her dad come in who started talking about McDonalds and how he just had it and it was so good. It’s kind of nasty and passive aggressive really. I hope I never eat that stuff again but yeah - I used to love a good maccas brekky Sleeved: 2/11/2017 SW: 209lbs/95kgs

FINALLY... hit my 40 pound loss mark!
Wow! You don’t sound like a slow loser at all! That’s a very good amount of weight to lose in less than a month. How long would it take to lose that without surgery? I’m only 3 days down but can’t wait to see the difference. How are your clothes feeling? Have you gone down in size yet? Sleeved: 2/11/2017 SW: 209lbs/95kgs

Tomorrow is my day!
That is so wonderful to hear!!! I’m so happy for you! I only just passed gas now, and feel so much better lol [emoji5] You’re flying through it! I couldn’t even have water barely in hospital. I am struggling to get much in at all still. I don’t think I’ll be ready by Friday to start soft foods, think I’ll be in this liquid stage for a while. My kids are eating chips - is it crazy that I really feel like licking one? I feel so ashamed. I’m craving food, but not super hungry if that makes sense? They still smell so good tho lol Sleeved: 2/11/2017 SW: 209lbs/95kgs

December Sleevers??
Yes - I’m thankful I took it off prior because I was wearing shillac which won’t come off easily. They need to see under your nails to check oxygen and will make you take it off in there. Clear coats are fine though. You can put something back on straight after though if you need to. Just go in as naturally as possible for the surgery. In my hospital they make you take a quick scrub with antiseptic before you go in. Keep your hair up so it doesn’t get wet. It’s all very exiting!!! Can’t wait to see you on the other side! December Sleevers??
Good luck to all of the December sleevers. Make sure you’re not wearing nail polish and all of that when you go in. Pack a loose tracksuit, and make sure you’ve got all of your shopping done for when you get home. Be prepared for the discomfort for a few days after - the X-ray fluid made me vomit, which is common, but I am day 3 now and feeling so much better. No regrets - this is fabulous! I hope it goes well for all of you too. In my hospital we were all in there for Bariatric procedures, so you may even make some buddies. I think it’s easy to bond because most of us have struggled with weight for our entire lives, we understand each other and how difficult things can be. I woke up from anaesthetic feeling like I couldn’t breath, which was scary, but now I feel like I was born again. This literally is the first day of the rest of our lives. We get a second chance at life, to actually enjoy it and feel sexy, healthy and beautiful. I was crushed after my divorce and piled on 40kgs, and I’m only 35. I want to feel like my life isn’t over and that my ex didn’t break me, and this surgery is helping me take back control of my life. I so hope it gives all of you the hope and joy that it has me. I am ready to start living again. And yes, I’d be lying if I said I can’t wait for my ex to see my knockout revenge body and see me with my head high again... maybe I’ll even find a new love that respects me and cares about my children too? I feel like anything is possible now. Much love and blessings to you all! Xxx Sleeved: 2/11/2017 SW: 209lbs/95kgs

December Sleevers
Hello, Let’s start a December sleevers support group to help each other through our questions, feelings and progress. I am 3 days out and already feeling much better, but I have ups and downs and not sure if my eating/drinking is right. How is everyone else feeling?

5 days after surgery
Hi there, I can relate - I’m 3 days out and I have no idea if I’m getting enough or too much in. I just had an optifast soup, which is fine according to my plan, but other plans say it should just be clear broths at this stage. The soup sat best with me than anything I’ve had yet post-op but I can only get tiny sips in, so I don’t know if I’m stopping because of discomfort or because I’m full. It’s more important to get liquid in at this stage than protein to stay hydrated so don’t stress about protein. I guess we just need to listen to our bodies better right now. I went for a walk and it really helped with gas pain. I wish I could be more help, but I’m in exactly the same boat and don’t know if I’m doing this right. Stay in contact - we should start a group for December sleevers.

About to go in
Thank you - day 3 and I just went on my first real walk around the block - and I feel so much better! Still hurts when I take sips of anything and it going down, but I think it’s getting better. Gas bubbles I feel are annoying but it’s also slowly improving. I just can’t wait to be skinny! Does it go by fast? Thanks

Gas pain in shoulders
I’m in day 3 and I don’t have gas pain in my shoulders, but it’s inside me. I feel like I’m constantly grumbling around in there ready to burp or hiccup after any sip. I need to move around more I think. Are you walking around?

First day home - who can relate?
Thank you all so much. You’re right, it is all normal, and walking does seem to help. It’s so painful when I swallow though, going down my chest part, especially panadol. It’s so weird waking up and not being so hungry when I have barely eaten. I can see that I will be losing a lot of weight very fast if this is all I can eat, I’m just scared of getting dehydrated. Water just doesn’t sit very well, but neither does apple juice or anything... I’m on day 3 and trying to take small sips of an optifast shake but it’s making me gag. Everyday I feel a bit better though, and as long as I am getting enough in, I’m excited about the fact I’m not hungry and can’t eat. I just want the discomfort to subside. You’re all amazing - thank you so much for your support!

Thanks Lainey, I keep getting the hiccups too. Yes, walking has helped a bit. I hope this phase passes soon. It’s really feeling horrible right now.
