Cooking with tofu
There are several different kinds of tofu. I use extra firm cubes in this recipe. I like extra firm. There's also a very firm fried tofu that is eaten a lot in Hawaii (and is incredibly delicious) It's very good in stir fry. The available information on the safety of soy is confusing and contradictory. If I were in Fluffy's shoes and had a history of estrogen responsive breast cancer, I might not consume much soy either. That said....populations that use soy as a staple food and vegans who eat a lot of soy do not seem to have higher incidence of cancer. (in many studies, they seem to have lower rates of cancer) So...the information is a mixed bag. https://www.womenshealthmag.com/food/a17151261/is-soy-bad-for-you/

Cooking with tofu
There is debate about soy having any link to breast cancer.

I’m 23 days since my sleeve
I started walking 5000 steps a day about six months before my surgery. The day of my surgery, after surgery, I walked over two miles on the ward (yep, I put my fit bit on as soon as I got to my room). The day after surgery, I returned to my typical 5-6 miles a day and have done so every day since. For a while, I had worked up to 18000-20,000 steps per day....but my doctor told me to cut back to 12,000 per day (about 5 miles) and to add cardio instead to keep different muscle groups in the mix. So that's what I do.

High protein CHOCOLATE mug CAKE recipe YUM!
You can buy pea protein and brown rice protein at health food stores and Amazon. What's nice about pairing a rice and legume protein...is that it creates a complete amino acid...so the protein is high quality like animal protein. It's just a nice alternative to constantly getting your protein from animal sources. My diet is a little heavier on plant based protein than most. I'm not a vegetarian, but I do eat a lot of alternative protein sources. (egg powder, crickets, pea protein, soy, fungus protein, etc) I just prefer not to consume so much dairy. (whey) Plus, the fiber in peas helps build good gut bugs:) You could use regular whey protein powder if you want to....no worries.

Minimizing Hair Loss When You Have PCOS
I think Rogaine helps. I've been using the foam in a preventative capacity. Am over four months out, very little hair loss so far. I don't eat starvation levels of calories...have been eating 1000-1200 since week 3 post op....that might help, too.

EBW - Excess Body Weight
If you're measuring the effects of the surgery....you have to go by your weight the day of surgery. Since, obviously, before the surgery...you lost the old fashioned way.

PS...if the top is still wet after 55 seconds, try 10 more seconds until it firms up a little. If you poke it, it should feel like a sponge.

High protein CHOCOLATE mug CAKE recipe YUM!
Plain, it's very very good. If you don't have pea protien and brown rice protien, you could probably use 2 Tablespoons of any other protien powder you have on hand, instead:) Have your cake, and eat it too:)

Weight loss stall
Make sure you are journaling every single thing you eat. I know...it's a pain in the arse...believe me. But, it's very easy for our calories to creep up a few hundred a day without us noticing. Try to keep your calories under 1200. Also, add activity...and be sure to switch it up. Your body adapts to things you do all the time and they become less effective at burning calories. If you're a gym rat...try swimming. If you're a swimmer, try a yoga class. If you're a walker....try a dance routine or a rebound routine. Try to get in some cardio three times a week...it'll help. Best wishes and good luck!

Pooping is stressful!
This is majorly TMI....but seriously, folks....a bulb syringe and some warm soapy water....just a squirt or two...makes a world of difference. No straining, no cramps. Kinda gross for some folks, but I'm a little clinical about these things...and the instant relief without side effects makes it worth it to me.

CALLING ALL 2 WEEK PRE-OP DIETERS.
I had all shakes on my pre-op diet. It was horrible. I still maintain that the pre-op diet is worse than the surgery. Best wishes folks....and those of you who are allowed to eat protein and veggies...you're lucky:)

Why are my neighbor's kids not wearing helmets...
Not true, dude. The only test results we see from homeschool parents....are the good ones who are proud of their efforts and how their kids are doing. There is no registry of test results for all home schooled kids. In some states, you don't have to do any testing or even let anyone know you're homeschooling. So much of the "data" about how well homeschoolers are doing...is generated only by parents who volunteer their kid's information...and this is not a good look at how homeschoolers are doing overall. Don't get me wrong. I homeschooled my kiddo through seventh grade. Then, she sat me down and told me she needed a best friend and a boyfriend and a math teacher and wanted to go to dances, be in plays and try real school. LOL. So, I let her try it....and by her senior year she was Salutatorian of her class. So yeah...I think homeschool is great. We loved our experience with it. We also loved our experience with the public schools here. That said... When my kiddo was re-entering public school there were two other homeschooled girls re-entering with her. In seventh grade...those two other girls couldn't READ. Like seriously could not read beyond a first grade level. I was a "room mother" for my kid's class for a while, and I worked with one of the girls. She wasn't remotely learning challenged....she simply hadn't been taught. There are awesome homeschoolers out there...and there are folks who are horribly neglecting their kid's educations...it's a very mixed bag... and I'd be cautious about painting all homeschoolers with the same brush.

“Turkey Neck”
it's extremely irritating, isn't it? LOL:) I have had pretty good luck with Bio-Oil at night and collagen cream after showering in the morning. Good luck!

Terrified & Excited!
Your risk of death as a side effect of health problems due to remaining fat....is far greater statistically than your risk of dying in a planned surgery with preventative testing. Don't be scared of the surgery. Be scared of not having surgery. It's a more logical fear.

Silly Psychiatrist
I wouldn't call him silly so much as irritating and unprofessional.

I am excited about having my legs back this year, too:) Last summer my edema was the pits....literally....massive pitted edema...which was so disheartening cause I used to really like my legs. Well...they're back! Yay! Just this week I tried on my old knee high English Huntseat boots and those suckers fit and look fantastic. Shorts, capris, skirts....here I come!
