TMI ... let's call this "things sit differently for a smaller man"
Just to show how sick I am.... "buried penis" made me think of bedroom games with pirate hats and eye patches. "Arrrgh, Matey! You've found One-Eyed Willy!"

Wendy's Southwest Avacado Chicken salad....Not Bad!
Looks like they do a bunch of cool salads in half sizes! https://menu.wendys.com/en_US/category/freshmade-salads/?utm_source=paid-search&utm_medium=search&utm_campaign=always-on&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIgeLFqp7W2gIVTL7ACh0zggDVEAAYASAAEgLlavD_BwE I was looking really hard at that Mediterranean power salad....it has 40g of protein in a full size, so must have 20 in the half size. Not bad!

Wendy's Southwest Avacado Chicken salad....Not Bad!
Ok...here it is: https://menu.wendys.com/en_CA/product/southwest-avocado-chicken-salad/ Now, here's the cool part... You can order it in a full size, or a half size. The half size has 300 calories. The packet of dressing has 90 calories, but I used less than half on the half sized salad. Could only eat about a half...of a half size salad....but it was pretty good food on the run. Less than 200 calories in what I ate....felt full...got some avacado, some greens, some protein. Nothing super special, but it's not a bad fast food option! I LOVE that they offer it in a half-size. Way cool!

And of course...now when my hubby comes home... "Honey, can you feel your balls resting on the chair when you sit, or do they kinda hang out in your thighs?" (I'm guessing it's the chair...cause he's an athletic dude...but now I MUST know....bahahaha!)

Protein Bars
I like Pure Protein. 200 calories for 20 grams of protein. They've got 16g of Carbs....but I eat carbs, so... Best wishes finding your perfect protein bar. And be careful with protein bars...they're a hidden slider food. Easy to overindulge:)

Desperate Confessions.....When your mind "went there" to lose weight
What is the most awful thing you've considered doing or have done..... to lose weight? I've got two....one I did...and one I thought about for a second until I realized how horrible it was. My skinny best friend is a smoker. And I noticed she had no problem with her appetite because she was always smoking....and I thought....damn, I wish I could smoke! But I can't...my Dad died of COPD and I can't force myself to do it. Too unpleasant. But then, I discovered nicotine gum. Have never smoked a day in my life...and got terribly addicted to nicotine. It's incredibly embarrassing to explain....no, I've never been a smoker....but yes, I was doing the equivalent of a pack a day in nicotine gum for a couple of years....to your doctor. Walk of shame. This is a REALLY bad idea, incidentally, folks. Was a really hard habit to kick...and it's not like I could get the gum to help. LOLOLOLOLOL So yeah....that's my lowest, I think, that I actually did. Now....the things that have entered my mind before I repelled in horror... Watching some Discovery Channel show about weird medical cases, and this girl ends up in the emergency room because her mother has given her tape worm pills from China and she has lost a ton of weight.....AND has a huge tape worm.... ....and I'm thinking....I wonder where I could get a tape worm pill? How messed up is that? OMG... Of course I didn't...and I wouldn't....but the fact that my mind went there for a blink....is SO sad. I think if people really understood the desperation involved in obesity, how hard this **** is...how much people struggle for years and years....fat wouldn't be the last socially acceptable prejudice.

Starting the process- Does it become "normal"?
It sounds complicated, but by the time you get there, it's all second nature. For a while it seems like they keep adding a million new items on the list of hoops you have to jump through....but I promise it's not that bad. Once you're about a month or two on the other side of surgery, things start getting back to normal. And the new normal is great. Most of the little things...if you screw up and forget....won't be world ending. It's a process. You get there. I think for a lot of people, the real hurdle is the idea of giving up control. It's tough to let your dietitian dictate your eating habits and make all these new rules for you.... when eating is your comfort habit. It's kinda like someone yanking a security blanket out of a kid's hands. It can make you feel kinda vulnerable. I'm coming up on 5 months out....and I feel terrific. My new habits don't bother me in the slightest. I feel at peace with food for the first time in my life. It's a good feeling.

Having second thoughts
The cool thing about sleeve...is that if you cheat...you don't go 1200 calories over a cliff. You have something decadent and outrageous....ok....so how many calories are in about 5 bites of that? Cause really...that's all you're gonna want. After that, you're gonna feel Thanksgiving stuffed. Even if you fall off the wagon a little...you don't do quite so much damage. Food's importance changes. Lots of things change. They're healthy changes.

Sick after 2nd day
Teenie tiny sips. Pour a one ounce medicine cup. Drink it over 15 minutes...in 12 teenie little sips. Do this four times an hour...all day. It gets easier. If you can't keep anything down drinking super slow like this...call your doctor first thing in the morning. Sometimes warming your fluids to body temperature will help. Cold fluid can cause a spasm.

2 week liquid preop diet
I still maintain....the liquid diet and the two weeks of starvation following surgery....are much harder than the surgery itself. The preop diet sucks. At least post op you feel like you're on the other side of the hill:)

Having second thoughts
Bypass people have dumping syndrome. Sleeve folks really don't. We can get nauseated a little if we eat too much sugary stuff...but not like the bypass folks. They get seriously sick. It passes...but it looks miserable. I have no problems having a a bite of my hubby's desert when we go out. In fact...I kinda wish I had more issues because I really like sugar and it's empty calories that are not a great idea. I had a bite of a Cadbury Egg on Easter...OMG...was crazy sweet...but I didn't get sick. Did want a big glass of water, though...lol...bleh! But seriously....you will not have any problem having a couple of bites of pretty much anything. You need to worry much more about falling into old habits. The vitamins are no big deal. I take Flinstone's chewables and a some extra D and B vitamins (also chewable) and calcium. It sounds like a pain in the arse....but it's no big deal at all. You get used to it. (and it beats the heck out of the prescription drugs I used to take) Sometimes people need a while to be "ready" for surgery. My first consult was almost 20 years ago. On the one hand...I wish I'd had it done sooner because I feel so much better. My energy is awesome and I feel terrific. On the other hand...I'm kinda glad I waited for sleeve. Just keep weighing the risks against the benefits. You'll get there when you're ready. But yeah....I'm so so so glad I had surgery:) Love my sleeve!

Taking NSAIDs Post-Op
I am forbidden to take them. I miss them. But I'm learning to get along with just Tylenol. Has been less problematic than I feared.
