I was told I could by my surgeon and I’m 3 months out so at a party or function I would have a glass of red wine and sip! Not like before surgery where I could have loads!! Now the 1 glass is fine for me on special occasions

I had my sleeve on Nov 7th and down 50lbs but 21lbs of that loss was with pre op diet. Every lb is a loss and don’t be discouraged. I’m happy with my weight loss so far as haven’t been able to do gym work and only started walking 2 weeks ago. Everybody is different. Don’t beat yourself up having the occasional treat as I have had but just be extra vigilant the next day. Just limit them as these treats got us into trouble in the first place! Don’t be disheartened I am around the same weight as you and am upping the ante now to continue on this journey! Keep up the good work! You CAN and you Will do it!!

Just wanted to share my story. I havent been on here in a while, but I had my surgery on Nov. 8th of last year (2017), so I’m almost 4 months post-op now. I used to be fairly average sized, but never really thin despite being the “thinnest” in my family. Then, after having kids and and an under active thyroid, the weight kept piling on. I was always depressed about my appearance to the point that it hindered me from living a “full” life. I happened to see some photos of an old friend on Facebook who had lost a lot of weight and looked amazing so decided to send her a message to ask her how she did it. I had tried everything! She told me about her sleeve so I decided to learn more and my journey began. I’ve always been a worrier and somewhat of a hypochondriac. It took everything in me to go through with this surgery, that is not an exaggeration. I was about to back out the day before and I’m so glad I didn’t!!! I even had a small internal bleed afterwards that resulted in me passing out and getting a blood transfusion and I’m still so glad I did it. Since then, I have gone from 242lbs to 186 and I haven’t felt this confident in a long time (though I still have a way to go). This lifestyle is my new normal and I am comfortable with it. It definitely took some getting used to, but I’d never want to go back to my old ways. I still can eat mostly what I want (although I don’t eat anything fried, breaded, or drink soda). I even enjoy Starbucks (my vice!), but now I get my drink skinny and with almond milk. I don’t really crave sweets at all and even some bad foods that I used to like taste gross to me now (a good thing). Also, my resting heart rate used to be high and now it’s it isn’t. So if you’re having doubts, do that research, but go ahead and push through. You will be so glad you did! I hope I will always look back on this and say it was one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself.

I also have problems exercising , when I can I do, when I can't I don't worry about it. My philosophy is why make unsustainable changes now to accelerate weight loss that I will give up in a year and only to gain the weight back?
    Nah.
I'm just going to commit to a true lifestyle change I can handle (mostly dietary ) and lose what I lose
If I decide to start exercising vigorously in maintenance then... Icing on the cake (that I can't ever eat again lol )

I was sleeved Nov 7 and down 49lbs including pre op loss! I have had issues as well with my knee so exercise is limited. Hopefully I will up the ante now as my weight loss has stalled!

Including the pre-op diet im down 50.5 lb, sleeved November 10.
Does this number seem low to anyone else or am i being too hard on myself?
Expectation from dietician is to be265lb by May 10 and am currently 325lb, that seems so far away and unachievable, thoughts?

If you are not having shakes then that's very reasonable. I couldn't have eaten this 6 weeks post op but I was still supplementing with 2 shakes per day. Being your only source of nutrition, that should make you meet your intake goals I think.

Sleeved 11/07. On soft foods. On a stall with weight loss. But otherwise in good health. Still sore getting out of bed and can’t wait to go back driving as suffering from cabin fever!!! Don’t see the scale moving down but have noticed the weight loss in my clothes!

Hi! My doc said I could drive as long as I don’t take pain meds. And I was sleeved 11/22!
I wasnplanning I’m getting out this weekend for a bit.
Doc also said I could likely expect a stall in my loss around 4-6 weeks, sounds like where you are!
Keep up the good work! 😘

I am walking a little bit no way near the miles I see people walking on this forum. Hopefully it will get better. My tongue is all white probably from a bit of dehydration!

I can vouch for this. I recently had two sips of wine and was buzzed. I'm serious when I say two sips. Not a shot. Not three sips. Not an ounce. Two sips.

I had my sleeve on the 10th the first two day very nauseous and barely walked to the bathroom. But today I walked 1,617 steps (using a fit bit to help keep track of my progress) . You definitely need to stay hydrated first and try to just push yourself a little more each day even if it’s just walking back and forth in your house. Today was the first day I left my apartment. Took my dog for a short walk and dragged my teenage son with me just in case I got weak. Best of luck to you in your recovery.

I’ve had my sleeve 1 week ago today. I haven’t walked yet as still very sore, weak and nauseous. I’m worried as everyone is walking and I’m not able yet. Finding it hard to get in Protein.< img src="https://emoji.tapatalk-cdn.com/emoji22.png" />

No that is not normal. You are 7 days out and haven't walked? You should be able to walk a couple of hours after surgery and get up every hour or so during the day to do laps around your house. It helps with the pain, gas and with preventing blood clots. If I was you I would call my doctors office. Usually they have a nurse on call to answer your questions. Make sure you have someone help you walk if you haven't been up and about. Are you eating? I did not feel like walking, but the more I walked the better I felt. If I just laid down too long without getting up it really made me more weak and tired. The days I got the least amount of activity the worse I felt.
