    2 week stall

Yes it’s normal. Yes we have all had weeks where we didn’t lose weight.
  2. Such a great feeling! Enjoy your vacation!

    ❤ FEBRUARY 2019 CHALLENGE ❤

I’m joining for February! Going on vacation in March so this is great. Thank goodness my name is only three letters.... 😉

    Phentermine

I took it several times but was not able to maintain weight lost once off the drug. It does decrease appetite but is a stimulant. It gave me dry mouth and the jitters but I was very productive.

    Hubba hubba! Fantastic work! Congratulations!

    Construction worker

I’m going to guess six weeks. I was on lifting restriction for six weeks and had to take a full six weeks off before I could return. My job keeps me on my feet caring for patients doing 12 hour shifts. Take as long as you can afford/benefits allow is my advice.
  7. I take Miralax every other day as well. I had problems pre op that were not made better by surgery. I started taking every day then moved to every other day once things became regular.

    Post OP question

There is a difference between physically able and properly following post surgical guidelines. Not following post surgical guidelines can put you at risk for injury. If you are unsure if a food is safe regarding your surgeons guidelines you should call your team. If you are seeking permission from strangers online to eat outside dietary guidelines post op, you are an adult and it is unnecessary.

    Pills stuck

Is it a pill that can be crushed until you are further out from surgery? It may be easier to crush them and take in a bit of applesauce at this point.

    Does this look infected?

I agree with above. I would contact your surgeon office. I would not hang out around an Emergency Room unless absolutely necessary right now.

I do not wanna do gastric bypass!

Do you know this persons medical history? All of the conditions behind the complications? Is it the same surgeon? Complications can arise from any surgery. Keep in mind if you get a sleeve and you already have reflux or similar issues you could be facing a needed revision if your problem worsens anyways. It may be more prudent to listen to the surgeon and opt for bypass now than undergo two operations. You likely would need new approval but that does not necessarily mean a longer wait once you have insurance approval to change the form, but a longer wait is worth it to make sure you get the needed surgery. You need to get the surgery you are comfortable with but why base a decision on a friend of a friend situation and let that influence your health and medical decisions?
  12. Take as much time as you can afford/benefits allow. That is my advice. Better to have extra time off and be recuperated than muddling through work miserable and fatigued. I am a nurse and had to have six weeks off due to physical requirements before I returned back. I do not regret being able to have the time off.

    Mouth Noises

Hehe. I thought I was the only one irritated by this. I also get irritated by hearing other people breathe. Why are you breathing so loud! Breathe quietly darn it!

    It's a tool

Topic posted in vets forum. I don’t belong here either. Fear works at six weeks. Come back in sixteen months I know I will be curious if you ever had that bite of cookie.

    Follow up psych eval

I had a psych evaluation, but a written test is not part of every psych evaluation. Good luck.
  17. Congrats! Job well done! 👏

    That’s great! Congratulations!

    Bad dream

Anyone can gain weight after a bariatric procedure by eating frequently of high calorie foods. For example, if I desired, I could drink milkshakes all day long. This is why surgery is a tool. It is up to the individual to follow a diet and exercise program. Once you are further out from surgery you will tolerate more foods, and slightly larger portions. All of us are at risk for regain.

    TMI question re. vomiting

I was never a person that vomited before surgery, and I have not vomited after surgery either. Maybe you’ll get lucky 🍀.
  21. Glad you are home and hope you are on the mend now.
  22. Oh ugh, this. I am still at an overweight BMI and someone said I look too thin. Ironically it is a woman here at work that is pretty thin herself. Last week two different people asked me what type of plastic surgery I was going to need after all this weight loss. Gee, thanks. I know people mean well but losing this much weight is an adjustment in itself...keep your comments to yourself. @AlteredRealityyou look beautiful and congratulations. 🎊 Many times people are so used to seeing us at obese BMI weights that when we lose weight it makes it more drastic, maybe even to our own eyes.

    Breast Implants

Working in the medical field I can say this is true....there are surgeons that will do whatever the patient wants to get the money, and there are surgeons that will honestly advise you based upon what will give you a better result. I hope you find a surgeon that is the latter.

    Liquid amounts question ?

I use a straw. Have ever since about two months post op. I think it’s more of a gas/discomfort issue immediately post op. I would never get any fluids in without my straws. 🤣

    And Goal Has Been Hit!

Congratulations. You look beautiful and happy. 🤗
